I used Charlton Well to dig a well for my new home. Really wasn't pleased with them at all. The owner Pete and their staff are fairly rude and unprofessional. They even showed up 1.5 hours late while I had another contractor waiting to coordinate with them on the excavation. Also, expect to pay at least 50% more than what they quote you as the quote doesn't include many parts and equipment required for the well. I felt like I was getting scammed with all the extra equipment they said was required and the fact that they said they had to dig deeper than the quote estimated (how would I know if this is true?). I would not recommend using them, there are much more reasonable well drillers in the MA area that will treat their customers better.

We live in a neighborhood which had a community well. When the water company went bankrupt 1400 homeowners had to dig wells in a very short space of time. Well companies came from all over New England to help out. Two attempts were made to dig the well. The first was too shallow and had to be capped. The second was successful, but the water pressure was so great that within months the well cap had busted off and the back yard was a flood zone from overflow. Charlton came back and dug a trench and installed an over flow pipe into a nearby stream. We have had two instances of basement flooding due to issues with overflow where well piping enters the house. We have had several issues with the softener/ filter system. Call and emails to Charlton produced no response on several occasions. Eventually we were told that the person who services the equipment was no longer employed by the company. Last contact with Charlton was February 2014.

I thought he was extremely good. They came in time. They did a beautiful job. They were careful with the rest of my property. They were very good. I would use their services again in the future.
