My neighbor had originally contracted Advantage to remove several trees. Advantage had to cross my recently paved driveway to access the trees. my neighbor had asked me for permission to let them cross my driveway, based on Advantage putting boards on my driveway to protect it. Based on they had agreed to protect the driveway, I gave permission. At that time, I had my neighbor ask how much it would cost to take the one last trees that was going to be left, which was on my property. They said $350, but $250 for cash. Fast forward a couple of weeks later. I come home from work to see the trees were taken down. To my disgust, my nice driveway had hundreds of scratches, several tire marks, and several gouges that were several inches in length and 1/2" to 3/4" deep. Right through my nice finish coat. I called "Bob" and he came down a couple hours later. He made excuses of that being "normal" damage for tree work and they weren't responsible for it. He said all tree work causes that kind of damage. Ironically, 2 weeks earlier, my neighbor on the other side had tree work done, and it had to be accessed from my yard. Not eve any sawdust left. I showed Bob and he tried to blame the damage being possibly done by the other trees company. But Bob, would see what they could do. One wek goes by, nothing. After 2 weeks, I called and left a message. Bob called back. He had been "really busy", but promised an answer by the end of the week. one week later, nothing. I called and left messages 3 times.I demanded a call from Bob, thier insurance information, or a call from Matt Gagner (the owner). Nothing, until the 3rd call, where I got irate. Bob called back and said it's not their fault, and basically too bad because the contract says they are not responsible for damage. I was ok with the scratches and tire marks, but not the gouges. I finally sent a 30 day demand letter, notifying them that I had planned to take them to small claims court. Now, Matt Gagner comes out of the woodwork, to respond to my email. The gist of the letter was basically telling me to pound sand and sue my neighbor, because they had never discussed putting boards down. Which I had previously discussed with Bob. They said they would put boards on the edges, which wasn't what I was told when I gave my permission. They didn't even put the boards on the edges.
Bottom line, if you have something nice that you don't want damaged by their careless work habits and have them not stand behind damages that go beyond what would be considered "reasonable" damages, Advantage Enterprises should be stayed away from . If you would like to see pictures or see any of the correspondence, feel free to contact me through Angie's List.

Update 12/4/14: The response by the provider is less than honest. My neighbor discussed with Bob, the putting down of the boards. My neighbor knows how I take care of my property and how new the driveways was. Bos openly admitted and discussed with me his discussion with my neighbor. Professional, certainly not. Bob did reach out to my driveway paver, but inadvertently dialed me. He started telling the story of my complaint and claimed that I was lying about the damaged done to the driveway. After 3 or so minutes, I said. "Bob, do you know know who you're speaking to? You're speaking to me, the homeowner. I don't appreciate being called a liar or dishonest....." Boy, was Bob ever surprised, and humbled.

Here's some pictures. see for yourself and see if that's how you would like your new driveway left.
Response from Advantage Enterprises Inc
"We are sorry this owner suffered minor scratches and tire marks on his driveway. The damage was so minimal that his paving contractor would not attempt a repair because the black marks from the tires would fade out. There were some scratches that appeared to be from us, however he is blatantly exaggerating about these gouges. Further more, we also contributed $250 to have his driveway seal coated in good faith. There was never a discussion about using boards with our company, and as he states, he had that discussion with his neighbor. We have a very good reputation and we are sorry we have not lived up to his standards. We attempted to resolve this issue as professional as possible, and as I explained in my resolution letter, with no disrespect, driveways are meant to be driven on."

They were very reasonable and very punctual especially considering how
difficult it was to get contractor to do this work due to the great
demand. I would use them again without reservation.

Called Advantage and they came with 3 days, provided an estimate and had their crew on site within 48 hours. Took down the Massive Oak Tree and removed 3 other large trees that would have caused problems at same time.
Professional... worked around my schedule and did exactly what they said they were going to do at the price they quoted.

The other 2 Tree Companies I reached out for a quote never even called me back. if your in Central Massachusetts - these are the guys to call.
