Rick took money to pay for windows, but Pella never received order. He was nowhere to be found and would not return calls.

Basically he walked away with all our money, and the house is 75-80% complete - its' now been over 7-months and he has not completed the house nor will he finish. We have no kitchen, no decking, no roof decking, no condensor for the a/c, no inside stairway to the roof deck, no rain gutters, painting was not completed nor was the clap boarding. Finished carpentry work in complete, holes in new wall thanks to inferior plumbing work. In conclusion, don't use this contractor unless you want to lose your money and have an incomplete or inferior job.

We contracted Rick Douglass of RK Builders for a bathroom renovation and other minor updates. By and large we are mostly pleased with the work. Our frustration is that there are glaring issues with the drywall workmanship and we were given promises that they'd be taken care of. We also had minor issues with bi-folding doors, and two door stops that were to be installed. Our complaint is that Rick received final payment based on a good faith and a promise that he'd be back to finish up the minor issues. After repeated emails and phone calls, Rick has remained unresponsive. For all of Rick's touted professionalism, he didn't deliver on making good on his promises. One would think this would eventually cause him concern. Hopefully, by giving this review, others will become aware of his business practice and shy away. We were once happy to give out references for Rick's work, but in hindsight, we'd be foolish to recommend his business practice to friends, neighbors, and colleagues. You are better off with someone else who actually cares about pleasing clients, not burning bridges.
