From the time he opened his fruit and vegetable shop in 1930, Granddad Tofic Saidnawey packed every order with only premium-quality fruit. And, he gave his customers far better service than they were used to receiving. Today, more than 83 years and three generations later, we still maintain Granddad’s unmatched levels of product quality and customer service. Granddad’s fruit and vegetable shop has evolved into today’s Pemberton Marketplace – a unique combination of specialty grocery store, garden center and premium gift business. Currently located just up the street from the original store, Pemberton Marketplace proudly serves the local community and maintains the standards of quality and service from generations past. And even though we have old-fashioned values about quality and service, we embrace progress and are mindful of the future. We are excited to offer natural, organic and locally sourced products as well as foods that help our customers with special diets – gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, nut-free – and provide an array of products for people who are concerned about our planet – organic, sustainable, GMO-free, fair trade. Mark is terrific - I called Pembertons for a spring cleanup in my garden.  Even though they were incredibly busy they went out of their way to provide me with an estimate in a short time, they were knowledgeable, unfailingly courteous, and had very clear and prompt communications.  In the end, I had to go with a different service because of scheduling issues, but I am a fan of the Pemberton store, have used their wonderful gift basket service, and won't hesitate to call on them in future for garden support. Thank you Mark and Pemberton's!

Unlike other landscaping companies we contacted, mark returned our call immediately. He came over, he was on time to our meeting, and was the most courteous man ever. He listened to our needs, likes, dislikes and made some great suggestions. As for the garden center, it is so nice! Prices are competitive and they have a great selection. We are waiting for his estimate and, given the great service so far, we would like to recommend Mark and Pemberton Farms & Garden Center.

They have really nice gift baskets. They are very nice to deal with. Candies, fruits, nuts and they have little special things like New England breakfasts type things. It is a supermarket. There is a farm and garden center and then there is a market  with gifts. They have two separate operations, one is the supermarket and  the other is plants. They are very nice to deal with and the quality of their baskets is very good. They are a little bit on the expensive side. I have no complaints about them so they are very good. They send out the gifts right away even at Christmas time. If I call two days before Christmas and want something sent to LA they can usually make it happen. They get the stuff out when they say they will. The things I have sent to people they have gotten it on time. Often they will expedite. They send through the mail and UPS.

There was a question about my order and the customer service representative was very proactive by contacting me. I felt like there was a real caring about doing the right job, and it was reassuring that such attention was being given. It made the experience very personal.

My husband bought two peony plants as a gift for me, one did not look very healthy after he got it into the ground, but they did not have much to say about it when he called them about it. It looks worse now, and I don't think it will survive. I bought plants for a vegetable garden, and the experience was not pleasant. When I asked about the price of mulch, the clerk nearly yelled at me that the prices were posted on a sign that I hadn't noticed. I suppose they might have just been overly busy, but the two experiences have left me reluctant to use them again. They also seem expensive, which is probably inevitable given their location.

THEY HAVE A GREAT SELECTION, AND WILL TRY AND FIND PLANTS FOR YOU, IF YOU REQUEST IT. THE PLANTS ARE VERY HEALTHY (NEVER, EVER FOUND A SINGLE APHID, ETC.). THEY WILL ALSO HELP YOU PLAN YOUR BEDS OR GARDEN IF THEY'RE NOT VERY BUSY. HELPFUL, THOUGHTFUL FOLKS, CAN'T RECOMMEND THEM STRONGLY ENOUGH!

THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND WON'T HESITATE TO RECOMMEND ANOTHER STORE TO YOU IF THEY DON'T HAVE WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. THEY CARRY EVERYTHING A GARDENING CENTER SHOULD, INCLUDING PLANTERS AND OTHER HOME DECORATION. I HAVE ALSO FOUND THEIR PRICES TO BE A BIT MORE REASONABLE THAN AREA COMPETITORS. FROM SPRING PLANTING TO CHRISTMAS TREES, THEY'RE AN EXCELLENT RESOURCE.
