Very professional and just a really sweet guy. I originally just wanted to change the locks but the hardware was bad, so Bob told me what to buy at Home Depot and replaced them the next day.

I've used Bob's services before. His approach is no-nonsense, efficient, and effective.

He was punctual, courteous and responsive. The job was simple, we had just moved into our unit and wanted to change the locks. He did that and at the time, the work seemed satisfactory. However, a month after the work, the knob on the turn lock is dislocated and non-functional. We can use the key to open the door from the outside, but can no longer use the turning mechanism on the inside to lock or unlock the door.

Bob Randall was punctual and knowledgeable. He understood exactly what we wanted to achieve, asked insightful questions and made useful recommendations. He did the job effectively and in the timescale he predicted. However, his final bill was higher than he had quoted. Although the difference was due to more expensive locks that we had asked for and were happy with, it would have been appreciated if he had communicated the change in price before fitting the locks rather than when he sent the final invoice. I would use him again.

He's wonderful. He's reliable, he does good, clean work and I think he's reasonable. His work is tidy; he cleans up after himself.

We have used him 2-3 times. He is independent. We had some problems with getting medico locks, you have to go back to the manufacturer and get it, only if you have an authorization card. He was very helpful in getting that whole process managed. We had to change the locks in our house, as we had two lock systems on one of our doors, which meant that the key had opened one lock or the master key can open both. So he was very helpful in negotiating that process. I was out of the country and he did that for us. When I came back I made sure my wife gave me a key. He also re-keyed my daughter's condos, when she bought that, so he has been helpful. I paid $400 for 2 doors, but again they were medico locks, so you have to get authorization code and everything else. We really had to go through all this; it was kind of a thing in the neck, so we had to replace it. He was thorough, he handled the complex process. He knows what he is doing. He is a very effective man.

Bob is great. Nothing bad to say. He is definitely my go-to locksmith now.

This guy is great - he shows up quickly, does a quality job and charges a fair price. He reminds me of the old-fashioned small town locksmiths I remember from 30 years ago. Honest work for a very fair price. I would highly recommend him to anyone in any of the cities surrounding the Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington area.

Perfect. The lock was aligned correctly with the front door handle fixture . It was completed promptly. The work area was left clean and tidy on completion.

We called and Bob came the next day. Very prompt service. I explained over the phone the locks to be changed, and he gave me a price of $130 to do the work, which included the $80 labor fee. He came the next day and replaced all of the lock mechanisms, and gave us 4 new keys- but the price had increased to $175. I didn't complain, and wrote the check to pay him, but I should have asked him why his labor charge was more than what he quoted over the phone.

All said, he was polite, prompt and quick to schedule. I just felt a little disappointed in the price difference between the quote and the bill.
