For decades I have paid a set-rate for yearly heating/ac inspections (spring and fall) with the only additional costs being any repairs that were needed. I'm very dissatisfied with this method of charging by the hour and will look for another company in the future.
"Dear (Removed members name), I am sorry to see your review today and want you to know we take all reviews seriously whether positive or negative and we are constantly working to improve our performance. Your copy of the invoice has not been sent to you yet but will be sent out today. Our understanding was that you recently purchased this home and needed the HVAC equipment serviced and preventative maintenance completed. It was also our understanding that you wanted us to look at the laundry room air vent to see if anything could be done to adjust the airflow in that room. This service took 1.5 hours and we did perform a complete preventative maintenance for your HVAC equipment, which included replacing the air filter that you provided. While the amount of time spent servicing this equipment may seem unreasonable to you we feel that the service provided was completed properly and professionally. We will try to improve going forward though. Thank you for your feedback. Katelyn Barrell"
"We at Barrell Plumbing try to provide the best and fairest service we can. I have to disagree with this comment. The original outdoor faucet was installed on 9/1/11. The service call to repair the faucet was made on 5/11/13, 20 months later. Both invoices sent to (Member name removed) were itemized, and the 2nd invoice was not $ 175.00, it was $ 175.05."
Guy they sent seemed knowledgeable and professional. Wasn't able to compete job because he couldn't reach the unit within the condo. Presented bill for $165 for 22 minutes of work. When questioned how is that possible he told me and quot;suppliesand quot;. Barrell over charges. When I asked for more specifics they quickly dropped the bill to $125. And when asked for how that broke done they told me labor $95 (min. rate) and $30 for the spray to clean the condenser.
Never mind that they were doing all the units in the condo association and presumably charging everyone a $95 minimum rate plus at lead $30 for supplies. When inquiring more they told me they waived a dispatch fee of $25 and additional lubricant fees. ????
I feel cheated. I'm sure they do find work since the guy they sent was professional but the office who was dictating prices over the phone is over charging its customers or worse bilking them.
