Their prices are excellent. They stock materials that no one else has. It is a very pleasant place to shop. They know what they are doing.

The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I was terribly overwhelmed/intimidated when I first walked in, but they didn't make me feel stupid for knowing nothing about art. It's a cool shop with artwork for sale on the walls and tons of art supplies (a lot that are cheaper than Pearl Art across the street), not to mention funky gifts like sushi band-aids and a last supper tin box. We were looking for stuff to mimic a piece of art we'd seen at Pier One. We were about to give up when one of the staff asked us if we needed help. We told him our whole story, and he said he could help us make it for 1/3 of the cost of Pier One. He helped us find materials, like the perfect canvases (on sale), and in the end, said that for our purposes paint from a hardware store would work fine. It was so honest and great. I plan on going there for any other homemade art projects.
