Could not be happier. The work was done quickly and professionally and the results were perfect. Cleanup and removal of the old doors and openers was spotless. Rick responded quickly to our inquiry and fully described the work to be done and the options available. We had a highly competitive quote within a day. Would enthusiastically recommend.

I would like to thank Rick and his crew for the great work on replacing the garage door on my parents house in Plymouth MA. They even painted the door before installation so it would match the old door.

Came right away to do temporary fix on garage door, ordered part and came later to repair. Checked door, lubricated hinges and rollers.

Called Rick and left a voicemail, he got back to me very quickly. Chris came out the next day and even though we didn't ask him to we were very pleased that he fixed the door temporarily until a new door could be ordered. The new door was installed by Chris in less than a week. Chris was professional and answered all of my questions. I would absolutely use this company again.

Rick came exactly at the time he promised. He explained me why door was getting suck. He said that some hardware needs to be replaced and he can repair top panel, but he can't just replace top panel because it is very old and no one manufactures it anymore. He also pointed me out that my door is not insulated at all and offered me to install new insulated door for $850 including all necessary hardware. I found that it makes sense compare to spending $175 for repairing of the old door. Chris came next day to disassemble old door and Rick showed up with new door right when Chris finished. Chris installed new door, new hardware, and new moldings. Everything was done very professionally and all works very well. Chris even managed to align the bottom of the door with my uneven garage floor. He took away old stuff and left my house. Rick came later the same day, took credit card payment, and gave me a receipt. Great job! Very well done.

Canal Garage Door scheduled my repair quickly, came on time, replaced The spring and lubricated the rollers and tracks. Chris was congenial, Efficient, and answered my questions. It was a pleasure to do business With these gentlemen. Oh, by the way, the price is very reasonable.

Great! Left voice mail on Friday afternoon, he called right back. Came promptly at 8 am next morning. Replaced key pad, did complete maintenance of door opener, track and rollers. In and out quickly. Everything works great and the door is much quieter now.

Just moved into a new house with two garage doors. The doors are really old and probably in need of replacement but Chris gave same life back to them. Hoping his work will give us another year or two out of them. Rick and Chris are both easy to work with and seem like good guys.

Efficient and responsible installation.  Nice selection.  Only downside was time it took for doors to arrive.  This caused a bit of a delay, but we kept in touch and got it down and very satisfied with results.

Above and beyond!  Rick and his associate went out of their way to repair our garage door during a blizzard to prevent further damage to our property. They were prompt, professional, and reasonably priced.  We couldn't be happier with their service and HIGHLY recommend them.

Excellent service. Not only did they respond right away, but the job was completed within a matter of days. Our garage doors are working beautifully and we are thrilled. We didn't realize just how loud they were prior to the service.

I was out of town when my wife called to see what she could possibly do to get her car out of the garage. One of the 2 springs broke, so it wasn't possible for her to use the door opener or to manually attempt to open the door to get her car out. I spoke to Rick on the phone, sent him a phone pic my wife had sent me & he promised to have someone at the house 1st thing in the morning. A gent named Chris showed up on time & well prepared to replace both springs & cables.
He did a great job in a timely fashion & went out of his way to make sure all was working well for my wife before he left.
Should we have any further needs on our garage doors, I'm hanging my tool belt up & giving these guys a call.

The entire process with Rick and Canal garage Door went excellent.
Rick and Canal Garage Door was the only company that would meet after I got home from work, all the others wanted me to take time off from work to meet within some wide window of time.  Rick agreed to a time and was there before I got home.  This initial flexibility and prompt arrival gave me a great feeling about the company.
He took all of the time necessary to look at the layout of the barn and its beams, make the necessary measurements and make sure a door with special lower tracks would fit.  He then reviewed our options with us.  He didn't try to sway me towards higher doors or unnecessary options although he was able to answer questions about all of the options and features I asked about.
The pricing was sent via email soon after we met, leaving a deposit was easy over the phone with a credit card.  I left the garage open so Rick and his crew could install the door the day it arrived and came home to a beautifully installed new door! They did a great job and cleanup up everything behind them.
I recommend Canal Garage Doors to anyone needing this type of work.  It is too bad there aren't more companies like them, it would make being a home owner much easier.

Rick worked with me over email to match and find the panels. He charged me an incredibly fair price and drove almost 100 miles (one-way) out of his way to come up and do the work. He did the job while I was at work and I came home to a perfect installation and a clean garage. Everything worked perfectly. Rick had done a wonderful job on my house on the Cape and as I was totally pleased with his work, price and professionalism on that job. When I received high quotes for the job in North Andover, I figured it was worth giving Rick a call to see if he could find the panels....the panels that I was told are no longer available. I should not be surprised that Rick found them and drove so far to install them. I continue to be delighted working with Rick and I know that everyone who chooses Rick will be equally happy with the quality of his work and reasonable pricing.

As part of a larger remodel, I needed to replace an old garage door set into the foundation with a new and more efficient door. The old door used an older track system with steel cable that was in the way. It was not energy efficient, it was rotting at the bottom and had a broken handle. I looked on Angie's List for a contractor and found one with high marks. After getting a quote, I felt that the price matched the high marks.
We found Rick on Craig's List and asked him to quote the job. He came out immediately, evaluated the job and presented several options for doors based on looks and efficiency as well as an option for an opener. He did this during the week when we were not around and then came back again on Saturday to share what he had seen and to explain the options. He was very thorough in his explanation of different R factors for insulation and at what point we would be wasting money given that there are some doors with higher R factors than the walls themselves. He explained how tracks had improved over the years and showed me where the old trim was rotting. After we narrowed it down to just two different doors, Rick met us at the McDonalds by the Sagamore Bridge on Sunday evening for our convenience. I was still a little nervous using someone that was not on Angie's List with A grades to back them up but decided to go ahead with Rick since he seemed like a pretty nice guy in addition to being incredibly helpful and responsive. I was not disappointed! Rick showed up on time with another gentleman and got right to work. He was fast and the quality of his work is excellent. He completed the job and took the time to explain the operation of the door and the keypads. The quality of the job is so good, I can hardly hear the operation of the door. Rick was so helpful that he even lent me a drill bit when I realized that mine was not long enough for the job I was working on while my wife ran out and picked one up!
I took a chance by going off Angie's List for this job and was so pleased with the outcome, that I strongly recommended to Rick that he join Angie's list since this is how I choose various craftsmen for work on my home. I am pleased to see that he joined and am even more pleased to be his first reviewer. As Rick is extremely professional, responsive and great at his trade, my only regret is that Angie's list does not give me the option to give Canal Garage Door and Rick Rasch an A+ since that would be my choice!
