After dealing with one other windows company delivering an aggressive sales push apparently characteristic for this industry, it was a pleasure to interact with Matt Rotondi, the owner. He provided all the information necessary, in addition the helpful online information, before making the sale, and there was no pressure for the more expensive models. He continued to be highly responsive and courteous even after we signed on the dotted line. The installation of 26 windows was done by a contracted team on the days it was scheduled to be done, and everything went well. The windows look very nice and provide the improved insulation we were hoping for. Obviously only time will tell how they hold up in the future, but I have full confidence that Matt will honor the warranty that should cover any potential issues. After the installation, one of the windows was hard to open and another one had a very small dent, probably from the delivery, but he fixed both issues without discussion. I recommend Zen Windows without any hesitation.

It has been one year since the replacement, so I felt it was time to leave a review. We replaced all the windows in our smaller mid-century house. Zen provided the windows in a timely manner, and installed them all in a few days. We are generally happy with the quality of the windows, although the locks & operators to open the windows feel a bit cheap. Also, the screens pop in & out, and while that is okay, the lack of a locking mechanism makes me wonder how they will last in the long term. HOWEVER - the team that replaced the windows did not put down any tarps or protection when they took out our old windows. They forgot to remove three of them from our property, and we were left to deal with that. The bigger issue was that they shattered a bunch of the window panes while removing, and to this day, a year later, we are STILL finding large shards of glass on the ground while gardening or planting. We don't have kids, but if we did, we would have had to spend thousands on replacing our gardening, tearing up mulch and dirt, and attempting to keep index-card-sized pieces of glass from being left on our lawn. They did come by once to clean up, but, as I noted, just this week I found two large shards shallowly buried in our side yard. Would not hire again.

Flawless execution by Matt and his team. They came in with a competitive price, actually recommending windows less expensive than the more expensive ones I thought I needed. Matt was responsive, punctual, and professional in all aspects of our project. They were able to start ahead of schedule, and completed the project in a shorter window (no pun in tended) than original projected. I couldn't recommend Zen more highly, and will be using them again for further window (and door!) work.

Matt was great. Great price, great service and very reasonable. No gimmicks and no non-sense.

Extremely well. The windows are beautiful and the house is air tight. For the "cool" month that has elapsed since the install, I have used very little oil for the heating system. I had spoken with all of the major window replacement companies over the few weeks prior to the contract and although Matt's (from Zen) price was not the least expensive, I determine that his product was great value with a good warranty and his business approach and communication with us was very trusting. We weren't wrong. He came exactly when he said he would, took two days and there was nothing left on a punch list for them to fix. Great job. The colors matched perfectly with the interior and exterior and is a pleasure have window mechanisms that work. They did a great job at cleanup as well. One minor down note: A characteristic of all of the "replacement" window candidates is that you loose glass area by a couple of inches on each side. Hated that first look, but have since come to love these windows. No more fights with the mechanisms and cold drafty areas. BTW: Make sure you take advantage of Zen's discount coupon offered through Angies List. Saved us a lot of money.

It went pretty well. There is no hassling. You tell them what you want done and the approx size of the windows and they'll give you a quote right away. Then they'll go and do a more exact measurement and later install the windows. Once the job is complete you pay them.

We just got a new house and 9 windows needed replacing. Matt did a great job and was very responsive to all the questions that I had in the e-mails I sent to him. I sent many e-mails and he was very quick with his replies. They ordered the windows and they came in very quick for the installation. The install person named Bob with another Matt also did a great job. The windows were installed professionally with no mess. We are very satisfied and would call them again for any future work and would recommend them to others.

The whole experience with Zen Windows and Matthew Rotondi was absolutely delightful. This is such a rare occurrence when it comes to a myriad of vendors. Knowing about my very busy work schedule, Matthew made sure that not a minute of my time went to waste. Showing a great level of expertise, Matthew was able to provide all the details I needed to make informed decisions, and he made sure that my needs were met in the most effective way. The quote provided was rapidly generated and clear, and no down payment was required; the full payment was given upon completion of the work and when complete client satisfaction was ensured. The installation of the windows was performed efficiently, cleanly and on-time. Throughout the process, Matthew was accessible by either e-mail or phone, during and after office hours, and he would follow up as quickly as possible. Overall, the level of professionalism and courtesy were impressive and unparalleled. The installation crew was respectful of my home, which was treated like it was their own. I have already recommended Zen Windows to my friends, colleagues and homeowners who are looking forward to do some renovations. I cannot express how grateful I’m for a job well done.

The work was incredibly efficient, clean, and professionally done. There was surprisingly little disturbance from the work which was performed while my tenants were there. Everything was done as promised, and they were far superior in their business dealings, no pressure, and total honesty compared to anyone else I contacted.

Zen Windows arrived on time, finished on time, charged no more than the agreed upon price. Matt was personable and professional. The windows are lovely, and we're completely satisfied.

Working with Matt Rotondi (the owner of Zen Windows Boston) could not have been a more pleasant experience. The process was much more pleasant than dealing with typical Windows vendors. I contacted Zen via email and within an hour I got a quote. I then followed up with Matt regarding specifics and he walked me through the process for my job. What is unique about this experience is that there is no down payment. You only pay after the job is complete to your satisfaction. I contacted many other vendors for quotes and I have had windows installed previously. In every case they require a 50% down payment. Not paying until the job is complete provides a great deal of comfort knowing that if there is a problem, you aren't on the hook.

It is easy to provide a great review when everything goes as planned, but often times this is not the case. It is when there are unforeseen issues that arise that the true character of a service provider can be evaluated. In my case there were a couple of unique and extenuating circumstances, and the way Matt handled them were unquestionably the best of any experience I have ever had with a contractor of any type.

Matt made sure all of the issues were addressed and resolved with no finger pointing and his follow up is truly outstanding. I have been able to get in touch with him day or night anytime I needed to speak with him. There were some adjustments required as well as some follow up work (trim) that were required after I made payment. His accessibility, punctuality and follow up were no different once he was paid. Often times once payment is made, you never hear from the vendor again--not so with Matt.

I cannot recommend Matt and Zen strongly enough. A truly enjoyable experience!

Our experience was very similar to that of other Zen customers. Matt is remarkably responsive, professional, and straightforward. His crew came at exactly the time they promised, did excellent work, thoroughly cleaned-up after they finished, and Matt came by to inspect the job as it concluded. Matt and the team at Zen were fantastic. From the day that I contacted them I heard back from Matt right away and was provided product information to review. Once I was ready for pricing I sent my information and Matt got me pricing the same day and followed up to make sure I got it. I appreciated that there were no aggressive sales tactics and they let me get back to them on my timeline. Once I chose to move forward I heard from them within 24 hours to schedule a date. The night before the install I received a call confirming the time and leaving a phone number. The day of installation was seamless- on time, installed as indicated, very clean and very courteous. Matt even stopped by to check on the work himself. I would definitely recommend Zen Windows Boston to all my friends and colleagues.

Matt Rotondi and his SoftLite crew were true professionals from the very begining.  Matt was very responsive to our first inquiry with excellent follow up throughout the entire process.  The crew was on time in the morning and finished by end of the afternoon.  They paid attention to detail and did a great  job cleaning up at the end of the day.  They were also very respectful of our home.  Matt made sure he dropped by during the install to make sure everything was running smoothly.

 Our home was much warmer and energy efficient during this cold and snowy winter of 2015.

I was attracted to ZEN Windows because they provide a quote via
email with no sales calls where salesmen try to sell you all sorts of upgrades
etc.   I emailed Mat from ZEN and told him what I was looking for and he
provided a quote the next day.  After some research I did it seemed a
reasonable quote.  I was also using the no interest HEAT loan for the
majority of the expense and Matt was familiar with that process.  ZEN
scheduled a measurement appointment for which they were prompt.  I was
told it would take approximately 3 weeks to produce the windows and schedule
the installation.  They were right on the mark and soon scheduled the
installation.  The installers showed up as planned and got right to work.
 Bob and Steve did a very professional job with the installation, careful
removal of the old windows, proper preparation of the window opening, insulated
the window frame and the new window and buttoned it up nicely.  The job
was initially scheduled to take two days, but in the end it took about two and
a half days.  I had no issue with the job taking an extra half day.
 The installer Bob told me it might take a little longer than expected and
that was fine with me.  Bob said that he would rather take an extra half
day and do the job correctly than hurry just to meet a promised deadline, I can
appreciate that tremendously.  I would much rather have someone take their
time and do a job correctly than hurry to finish just to meet a deadline. They
caulked around the new window and when they were finished you could hardly tell
they were there.  There was some minor touch-up painting that had to be
done along the frame where they had to pry of the old boards but it was fairly
insignificant.  They cleaned up well after themselves.  Bob and Steve
were extremely professional and quite friendly.    Overall this was
an excellent experience.  I cant believe the difference that the new
windows have made.  I am very pleased with the work that was done and I
would not hesitate to hire them again.

It went exactly as you would want any transaction to go! Upon setting up the appointments, Matt was responsive, prompt, and friendly. Sent out all of the documents by email and we had a great paper trail. Updates on the status of the window order were also punctual and kept me in the loop of the status of everything going on. 
Finally, on installation day, Gammon & Kevin were polite and clearly knew what they were doing. They were on time. They handled the job with great care and made sure everything was done correctly. Matt, the owner, came by to check on how things were going very shortly after they began to replace the windows and was present to make sure everything was going as expected.
Overall, a job well done all around. Highly recommend Matt and Zen Windows of Boston!

They confirmed the install date one business day before the scheduled installed and came at the time they said they would. They managed to squeeze a truck and a huge work trailer into a small driveway space and still left room for street traffic to get by.

The install was completed in a few hours, with the business owner putting in a personal appearance to check that everything was satisfactory.

We no longer need to search for window installers. All we need to do is contact Zen whenever we need new windows.

Everything was great from start to finish.  Matt was very responsive with the quote and answering any and all questions I had.  He always supplied any information I asked for and anything else he thought might be helpful.  He made sure I had all the brochures I needed and looked for additional information that was not in the brochure (sound ratings).  He was excellent.

The doors were installed by Kevin and Gamma.  They also were excellent.  They arrived when they said they would.  They immediately started work and worked non-stop until the project was done.  They removed 3 sliding glass doors which formed a wall in our sun room.  They put in the new ones, insulated and caulked.  They cleaned up everything.  When they left, it was actually cleaner than when they arrived.  Their work was immaculate - we could not find any detail that was not correct.  Plus, they completed the entire project in one day.

I highly recommend Zen Windows and their installers.  They absolutely work hard to make sure the customer is happy.  The doors are well constructed and I believe will save us a lot in energy costs this winter.   We will definitely be using them again when we are ready to replace some windows in another room. 

Matt made the process of comparing and buying windows very easy.  He was the only vendor who didn't require a home visit.  He was knowledgable about his products, and even went so far as to send me a discount coupon for a free window upgrade.
The workers were on time, pleasant, and very professional.  It was clear they knew what they were doing.  When it was discovered that some of the windows were the wrong trim color, they immediately set about making it right. There was no pressure to accept anything I wasn't 100% happy with.  Both Matt and the installer supervisor visited the job site to make sure everything was okay.
After the job was finished, clean up was done quickly and completely.
I am extremely happy with my new windows. They look great, and are so much easier to operate!  I can't wait to see what kind of difference they make this winter.
