Ian grew up in Lexington and is now proudly serving the residents of Lexington among many other towns. Ian also has many established contractor relationships that he values. We had a list of several things that needed to be done. A new kitchen faucet installed, two leaks from an upstairs bathroom fixed and a leaky downstairs toilet. He did the kitchen faucet and leaky toilet quickly and efficiently. In addition, he took the time to inspect the upstairs bathroom and determined one leak was most likely from cracked caulking, not internal pipes leaking. The second leak was an upstairs toilet seal that needed to be replaced. Easy and inexpensive fixes in both cases when I had been worried they may be expensive and difficult.
Very prompt, very professional, explained how the leaks had happened and what he needed to do to fix them.
So happy to find a plumber I trust.

- The work was completed over two days (as expected - had to wait for parts, delivery of new dryer).
- First day very punctual, and at the end of the first day I was told by the plumber that he would return the next day, first thing at 7am. Did not show up at that time, so I called the office and was told that the plumber did not know anything about scheduling, and that on their schedule he would arrive in the afternoon. He did
- Received helpful advice on the selection of the automatic shut-off valve, which they sourced by the next day
- The installation of the automatic shut-off valve was problematic. Was told it would hang discretely behind the dryer, but instead it was installed with valves and hoses hanging obtrusively on top of the washer. Did not accept that and the plumber reinstalled with long hoses to the side. Better, but honestly it was a tangled mess of hoses that did not suggest professionalism or attention to detail or aesthetics. Also the plumber was unfamiliar with the valve and did not test it after installation. When we tested it together it did not work, so extra time was used troubleshooting. Ultimately fixed.

- Cost was higher than expected, partly because the parts were higher than quoted, and partly because of the extra time charges
Again, a mixed bag. Some good and the work is complete and functional. But enough concerns that I didn't walk away thinking that it was all that professional. I'd be inclined to try someone different for my next service.

The plumbing work took 2 full days for 2 of their workers. The workers showed up early, and work hard through the day. The minor demo work they had to do was done cleanly, and they made no marks on my house taking out the old pieces. They wired all the pipes exactly the way I wanted them. I was very happy with their work.
I had a lot of requests to handle the work in specific ways. They were happy to listen to my requests, and they performed well. They got used to my requests, and in some cases double checked with me prior to starting certain pieces of the job.
The one bad part was the electrician they brought along to wire my thermostat for the new zone. Their electrician was to give me a 5-wire hookup with red, white, and green (common) to be wired for me. However, he wired the red wire to the white hookup, the white wire to the red hookup, and he didn't wire the common at all! Luckily I got a Nest and during the programming of it, Nest told me what wires were incorrectly wired. I had to go shut off the power and do the wiring myself. Also luckily that my Nest didn't get a short circuit!! Imagine if I had to pay for that!
You'd be better off getting your own electrician if you need a thermostat to be wired as well.
