It went bad. The advice provided in both areas was wrong and my house failed to pass inspection. When I called Caron Electric to come back out to rectify things, they wanted to charge me another $129 service charge. They were also rude to me over the phone. Bottom line. Caron Electric's customer service is poor and they do not stand behind their work. There are lots of responsible electrical contractors. Don't duplicate my mistake. Use someone else other than Caron Electric.

We had a Carrier central A/C system that was 20 years old. The air handler had been built into a hallway ceiling, and then the ceiling had been closed up around it. Several reputable HVAC contractors said it was impossible to service it or replace it. Scott Caron and Peter Moisen of Caron Electric said, "We can do it" - and then they DID it. They dissasembled the old air handler in place and installed a new one, all without damaging the ceiling (although Peter did say it was like "putting an elephant in a bird's nest"). They repiped the air handler to a new condenser unit, fixed the ductwork that had been connected incorrectly in the old system, and balanced the vents, and carted the scrap away. They did all this in 1.5 days and didn't even mess up our house. We were (and are impressed and very happy with the results.

Service was very prompt and courteous.  I called for an estimate on Thursday, the technician came and gave an estimate on Friday and the work was done on Monday by 2 electricians.  Bottom line: top notch service and quality.

Everything went perfectly.  From estimate to scheduling to the job itself, we had no problems whatsoever.  The owner and his electrician were extremely friendly and thorough, and the job is very neat and clean.  They installed the charger exactly where I wanted it.  They had some previous experience installing these chargers and it showed.  I would call Caron again without hesitation.

They explained that the existing model of floodlight was not reliable. We agreed they would replace it with a better model. Since the electrician didn't have one with him, he went out and got one and returned and installed it. He made sure I was happy with where the two lights were pointing. It is working fine now. The whole job only took a couple of hours.

Last year during the Snowtober storm, we were very fortunate relative to the rest of Lexington and only lost power for a few hours -- but this year, thanks to Hurricane Sandy, we lost power on the Monday of that storm and didn't get it back until Thursday evening. The decision to purchase a generator was an easy one, but it was just a matter of finding an installer. I knew that Caron Electric had actually done the wiring for our home (new construction, built last year) and when I checked the Kohler website to see what local electricians they recommended, Caron was at the top of the list, so I gave Scott a call.
Scott agreed to come by the house and check out our existing panel; he obviously remembered doing the work but wanted to re-familiarize himself with it before committing to anything. I believe his company installs both 14kW and 20kW generators; we went with the latter as I don't recall there really being a substantial difference in price. It's a permanent full-house generator that runs on natural gas. Scott is very friendly, knowledgeable about what he does, and has extreme attention to detail. What I thought was extra nice is that he'd brought along an iPad with photos of various generator installs they'd done to give me a better idea of what would be involved.
His quote included the generator, installation on crushed stone/concrete pad, pulling the requisite electrical and gas permits for Lexington, gas piping, re-wiring the electrical panel, adding an automatic switch, maintenance for the first year (after this first year, I believe they charge ~$400/year), monitoring through Kohler's system, bi-weekly tests, and other things I'm sure I'm forgetting. We sent in a deposit check and in another day or two received a phone call to schedule installation, Scott indicated they typically book about 2 weeks out, but we were able to get on their schedule in less than a week.
The day of the installation, they said they'd arrive around 8 and it would be a full-day job. Around 7:50, Scott's truck was pulling into our driveway and he walked my wife and I through the process. We picked the exact spot where the generator would be installed, and Scott realized that a bush and sprinkler head would need to be moved. and quot;Who does your landscaping?and quot;, he asked. We told him that Eastern Brothers does, he whipped out his cell phone and started dialing: and quot;Hi, Keith? Scott Caron here, I'm installing a generator, and it looks like we'll need to move a bush and a sprinkler head or two...and quot; Within 1/2 hour, an Eastern Brothers truck was in our driveway too and their guys got to work. It was awesome.
Scott had two guys with him helping out, Don and another gentleman whose name unfortunately eludes me at the moment. Both of them were also extremely friendly and professional the entire day. Don spent the vast majority of his day standing in our utility closet, re-wiring the panel. The other guy handled extending the gas line out to the generator. The only downside was that in order to get the generator installed, they had to cut power to the house for about 8 hours while work was being done, but I figure this will hopefully be the longest we'll ever be without power again.
Once the generator was installed, they ran a full test, which involved cutting power to the house again. The generator kicked on and power started flowing to the house in about 5-6 seconds. Running at full-blast (which isn't indicative of typical usage, I'm told) it just sounded like someone was mowing the lawn outside. It's certainly not silent, but Scott and I were standing right in front of it and able to have a conversation without raising our voices. Caron Electric set us up with Kohler's monitoring system so that when the generator kicks on and off, not only will my wife and I receive emails, but Caron Electric gets them too, so he can see if we're in trouble. He also set it up so that it will perform bi-weekly tests for 20 minutes at a time. Our first test will be later on this morning.
I think that's about it? We really had a great experience with this, and highly recommend Caron Electric!

It went very well in the sense that they stayed on the job until it was completely done to my satisfaction. It took longer than expected, but all problems were dealt with promptly and efficiently.

We hired Scott Caron to come in and finish the construction of our addition after we discovered our current carpenter was stealing materials. It was winter and we were in a hurry to get the addition weather tight. Caron Electric gave us a price to finish the project and promised a schedule once they started. We never got a schedule, Scott Caron kept demanding payments on a weekly basis even though he was falling behind his proposed finish date. He started charging overages for things he had promised to complete within the original contract. He got extremely angry, yelled at us, and eventually refused to talk with us except by email. After6 moths he stopped showing up at the job site and only sent two workers to the site each day. The work became less and less professional. Then in October 2010 he disappeared with only $9000 left in in his contract. We had no HVAC at all, only rough plumbing and electric and discovered he had forged the signature of the plumbing inspector to make it look like he had approval. His contract was to complete the entire job and it took until this spring and another $103,000 for other subs to complete all of the work that he said he would do in his contract. All those new subs that I personally hired and supervised said it looked as if Scott had never intended to finish the job (for example there were wires that didnt go anywhere). He was dishonest and completely unprofessional.

This company was very professional, and came out to the building twice to scope out the job. The owner himself came out a third time at my request to have a one hour meeting with my condo association, to answer all questions and concerns that they had regarding the job (the A/C was being installed for my unit only). He was extremely patient and demonstrated solid knowledge of the issues raised, and was considerate of my neighbors' concerns. The team that was sent out was very professional and diligent. They were very friendly, did not disturb my neighbors, and left no mess behind (it took 2 days). They were excellent, and I would highly recommend them.

Scott Caron was my electrician. He was very professional and knowledgeable. After replacing the unit, the system went out that evening. Scott came the next day to check again. I had an electrical problem that needed to be addressed. Scott fixed and had it up and running again. I also appreciate Maxwell who answers the phone for the company. He is very helpful and pleasant to work with. He called to follow up and make sure all was right with unit. So, great experience all around.

I thought the company was great to work with and were very professional. Scott Caron the owner worked with me on designing the system for my house. He was very responsive and addressed all of my concerns. His installers were very professsional and neat. They arrived on time and were very careful with the installation of 4 units. I would highly recommend this company.

We had 3 bidders, Caron was the lowest and wanted our business. They offered a more cost effective way of doinf the project. They were proffesional throughout despite a few difficult owners in the complex.

They were very nice. It was the first time I had used them and I liked them a lot. I also used them to get an estimate for a new heating system. They told us exactly how much it would cost before they did the job. They had everything done in a short amount of time. They called back the next day to make sure everything was fine. It was great experience.

I have used Caron for electrical work, and they have proven to be highly efficient, extremely polite, responsive, and reasonable in their pricing. They also come highly equipped--they have always been able to install what I needed immediately, drawing from the inventory they carry with them in their trucks. Recently I noticed they added Plumbing and HVAC services, so I hired them to fix our central air. I was able to get them to my house in the midst of the first summer heatwave. They were extremely knowledgeable. I have developed so much trust in them that I recently left the crew in my condo and went back to work.

We had turned off the main circuit breaker to do an electrical repair and when we went to turn it back on although we could move it back into position, the electricity did not come back on. I could not reach our regular electrician and found Caron Electric, Inc in the phone book. Someone answered the phone immediately and referred me to the dispatcher. He said that he would send someone in about 2 hours. He called at 2 hours to let me know that it would be another hour and then at the end of that hour, he called to let me know that the electrician would be there shortly. The electrician was very professional. He evaluated the situation and inspected the circuit breaker box and the lines coming into the house from the outside. He made several suggestions to improve the system. He also got the system working again. The following day another very professional electrician worked for 8 hours doing the work described above. We are very pleased with the communication, the professionalism and the work that was done.

A classy outfit. Caron Electric was very responsive to my calls in setting up an appointment, and the electrician who handled my work was punctual and efficient. He presented several different options to address my needs, and the work was done quite well. I would work with them again.
