B & D House of Carpets and Flooring

From the moment we walked into the store, Team B+D was amazing. Awesome design support, total pro measurement, and flawless installation. We cannot be happier. They transformed our room! We are onto our next floor project and WILL BE BACK to team B&D Carpet.

We are doing carpets and kitchen flooring with B&D. Thus far, carpets in the main living room and kitchen flooring is done. Both Bob and Debbie were very helpful in us selecting the flooring (we visited many times) and carpets. We then asked them to do back splash and kick boards in the kitchen (Dwight was fantastic). They really helped us with all this despite some last minute addition to our requests. Carpet, kitchen flooring, back splash and kickboards are really great. Always on time and great customer service. We are still waiting for the rest of the house carpet which is pending but I am sure it will be great. Their prices are competitive with Lowes and Home Depot but we are glad to go to small companies like this for our needs.

Our most recent experience with B and D Carpet was this past month replacing the entire upstairs carpeting in our home. (Approximately 2200 square feet.) We also installed Armstrong vinyl over an existing tiled bathroom floor. The results were fantastic. Although they had scheduled us for two days for the carpet alone, they were done with it in one. Four large bedrooms, large landing and hallway and an office. Including moving all furniture. I was amazed at how quickly they had it all done and it looks beautiful. The bathroom floor has such an updated look now with longer, bigger pattern offset by a third and no grout. It is just beautiful! Whether its tile, vinyl, or carpet, your best choice is B and D.

Job was well done. One area where there was a small bubble in the rug, near a seam they suggested I should not do.

Bob was lovely to deal with, and all of the professionals at B&D made the experience smooth and pleasant. We got a general idea of pricing in the store, and were given options for less expensive, but still high quality finishes in order to make the project work within our budget. Bob came to the house to see the space and take measurements, in order to give a more exact quote. When the project had to be delayed due to issues on our end, they simply said to let them know when we would be able to get started and they would reschedule for a time that worked for us. The team arrived on time, explained and updated the process clearly, and were able to do the work in the timeframe specified.

Excellent work was performed at my home. The man who came to measure was on time, knowledgeable and so helpful. The carpet installers did great work. I got beautiful, durable carpet for an excellent price point, and I would highly recommend B and D Carpets for both their great service and value.

My wife, I and daughter removed everything from the basement into the adjoining garage with the exception of empty heavy furniture and cabinets. The installer moved these items around himself. The job required laying down a leveling compound to smooth the surface in one room that took about one half a day. Overall the job took a total of two days to install about 500 square feet of flooring. The installer cleaned up and replaced the heavy items in the original locations. He did a great job and was very friendly.

Very well. They had a good selection and the staff were helpful when we picked out the carpet. The runner was well constructed (strips from regular carpet stitched together and bound) and the installation was quick and well done.

I was very pleased with the service and the way they approached the situation. In a manor where they met the cost factor and they were able to stay very professional when they approached their work. The installation was handled in a very pleased manor. because he took pride in what he was doing.

it went very well.  they worked really well with our scheduling.  Even with some timing restrictions on our end, they were able to pull through for us.  it went without flaw.  the carpet looks great!  next time we need flooring, we'll check in with them!

They were extremely helpful in selecting the material for the floor..They were punctual and did a great job. I would definitely use them again.

The two carpet layers were very pleasant and worked diligently to install the carpet.  They did a nice job on the stairway which posed some unexpected difficulties.  They also took the best piece of the old carpeting and installed it in my large closet for a small amount of labor cost ($100), saving me money in the long run.

AAA!!!  5 STARS!!! Excellent!!!!  We shopped all around and did lot's of research and finally decided to use B and D and we are very happy about our decision.  We would definitely use them again for any projects in our home, they are great to work with. 
We got 5 quotes and looked at tons of materials since we had never done this type of project before. We didn't know a thing when we started. We felt the most confident in B and D and we found our favorite material there. They were more expensive than the other places we looked but we got the best feeling for working with them and felt that they would be the most reputable. After seeing the laminate expose about the cancer causing cheaply made laminate on 60 minutes we wanted to make the right decision. Bob took the time to educate us and let us know all of our choices and options. He was very patient. He showed us some things we had not considered and that helped us to be very sure of our final decision. We were able to take many samples home to help us make our decision. We ended up liking a very high quality, gorgeous laminate but for our smaller room it was well worth spending a bit more on the actual materials since the labor cost was was it was and we figured we would be doing this only once, it is really beautiful and looks perfect in the room. The selection and variety of options was great. We could have gone cheaper on the material but we love what we chose and you can feel, hear and see the quality. We do not regret it for a moment. Bob helped us pick out all materials (such as the backings and edging) and let us know what to expect for timing and the install. We didn't have to worry about a thing with his knowledgeable guidance. His guys showed up as scheduled and did a great job with the delivery of materials and for the installation. It went perfectly smoothly.
We have an older house and after the carpet came up you could see dips in the concrete floor that had to be skimmed for the laminate to work well (which Bob had prepared us for) and the installer worked very hard to prep the surface so that we wouldn't have issues. As it turned out a few months after the install there was one dip that remained at a seam of two boards and it was flexing a bit so we called Bob and he scheduled the laminate guy who came out promptly and did a bit more skim and now it is perfect. We wanted it fixed right away so it would maintain it's integrity and it is. We really appreciated their quick response and no hassle response. Very professional.
I have called in a few times with questions and have always received great help from Dot or Bob or any of the staff.  You are always greeted and helped.
We also had the carpet on the staircase down to the basement done since we had new, fresh laminate and didn't want the ratty carpet there. It was installed on a different day (which was actually great, it would have been too much confusion to do all at once) and he did a great job. It is very nice, quality carpet and the installation looks good. Hassle free.

They did a very good job, all looked great.  They seemed priced well compared to other places and the owner was very nice to us.  He went out of his way to make sure that we got a stair runner bound that wasn't included in the original order.
The carpets look great however two things stuck out to us: They made an error when I was paying the final portion of the bill.  Something on the order of $200+ dollars.  Luckily my wife caught the error in the math and we were able to avoid paying it.  #2, the tacks in the entryways of our bedrooms have some tacks sticking up that we had to hammer down.

We had some trouble getting help in the store, but once we found someone, he was very helpful and was willing to work with our budget and time frame.  We went with basic carpet, and now 2 years later, it is starting to show wear on the steps in both the attic and the basement.  There were some nails sticking out in the stairs on the attic that they came back to fix but we still encounter them on occasion.  Had to redo the carpet on the porch but now lays perfectly.  Nice to work with, neat and professional.

Randy and Clayton arrived as scheduled at 7AM and worked hard to complete the job at 11AM. The master bedroom had 396 SF and the second room had 168 SF for a total of  564 SF, about 63 square yards. The job cost included labor, furniture moving, disposal, materials and tax. We opted to go for Shaw Profile I ($4.99/SF)  in the master bedroom over a 6 LB pad and Shaw Great Beginnings ($2.89/SF) over a Feather pad in the smaller room which has little traffic.The workers were friendly, capable and courteous and did a wonderful job. We have used B&D before for carpeting, wood flooring and sheet vinyl and have always been very satisfied. The office staff and the sales rep likewise have been pleasant to work with.

Great.  I had to bring my 3 year old in to arrange it.  They were extremely nice and very helpful and sensitive to the fact that I had a tired child with me.  They provided very prompt service (We had guests arriving to town soon after water had damaged our basement/guest area carpeting).  The carpet was put down beautifully.  Workers were courteous, clean, etc.

The B & D House of Carpets has a huge selection not only carpets, but all imaginable flooring materials. I was considering replacing my old vinyl in the kitchen with resilient vinyl planks. Bob Jr. gave me a set of samples to take home, to select color.  Bob Sr, the owner of the company, came over to make measurements.  I mentioned him we planned to replace the door from the kitchen to the back porch, and he advised to replace the door before installing the kitchen floor. I am glad we followed his advice, since replacing the threshold caused a damage of adjacent kitchen floor.  The following morning, he called and gave estimate. (They later applied a $100 Angie's List member coupon to my balance). Steve, the installer, came in time and did a great job.  Overall, it was a smooth, easy experience. They are professional, punctual, and knowledgeable.  We will use this company for our future flooring projects.

The carpeting looks much better now.? Scheduling was OK.

B&D is a real family business and Bob and Dot are very knowledgeable - they gave me honest advice about my carpet selection and what would hold up with my dog (they could have sold me a more expensive carpet but Dot told me to forget about wool if I wanted it to clean properly. I appreciated her honesty and experience). Bob came all the way to Rockport to measure and advise me on replacing my vintage kitchen floor. Both installers were extremely professional and super efficient. I picked B&D because a previous reviewer mentioned their expertise with Marmoleum and this proved to be true! Steve did an unbelievable job on my kitchen floor, its gorgeous. Everything went according to plan and on schedule. The only issue I had was a mistake on my final invoice and Bob corrected it immediately with profuse apologies. I would definitely use B&D in the future and highly recommend them.

The entire process went very smoothly, the quality of the carpet was fantastic, and my attic looks amazing.  The rest of my house has hardwood floors, and it is nice to have a space that is quiet!!  I would definitely use B&D again, over any of their competition.  Have no complaints, the carpet looks and feels beautiful.  Very professional operation, great customer service.  Don't go anywhere else!!

Great selection of rugs, actually overwhelming! I told Dot what I was looking for and she gave great advice she made the process NOT so overwhelming !! They were prompt, courteous & the job is everything I hoped for and more. I LOVE my new rug!! I highly recommend them. Thanks Dot and Clayton
