This tree was a giant oak tree behind our house. One guy had this giant crane that went right over the house. They were great. It's a giant crane; we still have the tire marks on our lawn, but that's okay. Overall, they were great. On the price, it was well below anything else. The guys were courteous, they cleaned up everything afterward. They had a giant chipper there. They actually cut them up and chipped them right there. There was a crane and a truck that chipped them.

They arrived at time stated. I requested the price to remove two additional small tall trees near large pine. Stated cost of $150. I agreed. Work was completed professionally although large pine stump could have been cut lower and levelled (6 in. difference from one side to other). Payment time = now I was told the total cost was $250. more. I explained that I had already made a $100. down payment. The man again quoted quite GRUFFLY the price. I was very intimidated and wrote the check for that amount planning to call the office the next day, figuring he hadn't taken my $100. down payment off his stated price. The office (after talking with their employee) gave me several answers: that I changed the additional two trees, one being bigger (I measured the stump, one inch bigger) and that they left me the wood chips which they normally charge for. At no time during this job was an additional charge (above the $150.for the two trees) of $100 stated until payment time. Office stated I got a good deal! I should have been told of the additional $100 charge before hand so I could make my decision accordingly.

Absolute worst company I have ever done business with. From saying they would match competitive pricing and then not doing it saying "oh we won't match those competitors" to leaving my lawn trashed with cigarette butts and water bottles everywhere to not taking all the stumps and not executing per the alleged contract THAT I NEVER SIGNED...I can't even believe how much money of mine these guys got. And then when I called to try to resolve some issues they ended up coming and scaling my fence, trespassing, breaking pickets, and still shaking me down...to the point of threatening small claims court. Unmitigated disaster. You can do better...shop around. Their prices weren't that good anyway! I went with them based on a recommendation and that was a colossal mistake. I didn't like the way I was treated from the beginning and I should have gone with my gut.

Had need for an emergency tree service, large Oak tree in my yard split and partially feel during the day. Section was aprox 55 feet in length got caught up in other trees and was hanging in other trees above my shed and trailer swaying in the wind. Contact Newcomb's they were there within 30 minutes to review and gave me an estimate, Price was high due
to the fact it was an emergency and pulled the crew with a large crane from another job site and came in worked almost three hours and removed and cleaned all debris from the yard.

They came out immediately to give us a price on stump grinding and clean up. When they came to do the work, they did grind the stumps, but did not take the debris away as planned. The driveway was also covered with the grindings. I immediately called the company when I got home. He apologized and said someone would be back that day. They never came. I was then told they would come on Thursday, then Friday. I called and left a message Friday evening when I got home from work. I got a call back Saturday saying the earliest they could do it was Monday. I called first thing Monday morning to tell them if it wasn't done that day, not to come at all. He reassured me we were first on the list. It was still not done when I got home at 5:00. I called again. Someone finally came at 5:30. So frustrating. I would not use them again.

Better keep an eye on them if you have a delicate yard or fancy
manicured lawn, small items broken around the yard and branches on other
trees. Over all the price was decent and the work was completed in a
timely manner. None of the trees were over difficult to taken down nor were they near structures.

Newcomb's came out in the middle of a hurricane to take down a large tree that might have come down on the house. The assessor was very punctual and his team came out soon after. They must have charged hazard pay, because it was incredibly expensive, next time, I think we'll just take our chances. They left quite a bit of the stump behind which was disappointing because at the price they charged, we think they should have at least come back after the storm and cut it lower or gotten rid of it altogether.

The company called and told me that the service would be done on a certain day at a certain time . I was told It was their third job of the day . They arrived early. I went out with them to tell them what trees needed to be and answer any questions they had. They began by cutting down the wrong tree. They then began clearing the land at the bottom of the hill . They had a machine that did most of the clearing and spent most of their time doing that. At the time I was very impress since this was the $200 part of the job. One of the men climbed the tree that was blocking my view. He cut a few branches and when I asked for the rest to be done I was told that the contract said "Middle out".I am not pushy and could see that it did say that on the paper. I tried to explain that it did not mean I wanted a big hole in the tree. I wanted the tree pruned to the middle and out to each side. They talked to the man who gave me the estimate and he said to just do what the contract said. Like I said, I am not pushy so I did not fight them. They went on to prune the 3 cedar trees . I had to keep asking them to cut this dead branch and that dead branch until Igave up. I kept wondering where my $1000 was going. It was a hot day, and it was their third job so I knew they just wanted to finish and get going. I must admit that I did not speak to the company about any of this. So I have no idea what might have been resolved . Technically they did what the contract said so I had no legal recourse and I have been reluctant to write a review. I decided to write this so that the people who do get a contract from them will be sure to go into detail about each thing they want done and have it all written out so there will be no misunderstandings . More importantly, read the contract carefully to make sure everything you want is stated exactly the way you have stated so that when the crew arrives weeks later there are no discrepancies.

We needed tree limbs cut that were hanging over the wires and our driveway. Got an estimate but didn't know the wait time until I followed up with a phone call. Once things were explained about the scheduling and we were told we would receive a call the day before they could come all went well. The call came the day before. the technicians arrived and went over the estimate and drawing showing what needed to be done. They cut and trimmed the trees as requested and cleaned up everything after themselves. Very pleasant and professional personnel. Would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Newcomb's was very responsive to new business. They had someone out to provide an estimate the next day. It was a Monday or Tuesday their rep came, we said go ahead, he tagged the trees to come down and he said they would be out to take down the trees by the end of the week. That deadline came and went.We called the office several times over the next two weeks or so and were basically strung along by the girls in the office, who seem to have the attitude that they are doing the best they can; how dare I question them. Finally we got a call on a Friday that they would be out Monday at 2pm and someone should be at home. Which meant I had to rearrage my schedule again. They did finally show up on that Monday after 5:30pm claiming another job had been bigger than anticipated. I can't really fault Newcomb's here as the guys did come out after hours to do our job. They then left the big dead tree and a lot of refuse on our property and said another guy would be out the next day to clean it up/deal with it. Today is two days after they did the job and he has yet to show up and I still have a big dead tree on my property. In addition, the ugly stumps they left look horrible. I would have thought they would have brought them down to the ground all the way, but I guess we don't get that added aesthetic pleasure.
Bottom line: don't lie to customers about when you can do the job. If you don't know, say you don't know but we will do it as soon as we can. Blowing deadlines created by the company not the customer just creates animousity and distrust.
Response from NEWCOMB'S TREE SERVICE LLC
"This client was never told the work would be completed the same week we looked at her job. Her husband was told our office would schedule there job with them over the phone. The office girls made two prior attempts to schedule work and were unsuccessful. The client wanted us to schedule an exact time when we could be there. This is extremely difficult because some jobs can take longer than others. We typically give a 2 hour window when arriving for tree work. She declined both previous attempts to schedule work and this is the reason it was delayed. She is correct that it took us two days to pick her log up. This is usually completed in 24 hours. When I spoke her husband the first day of contact, he declined to get the stumps ground by our stump grinder. When we cut trees down, the stumps are left a few inches above ground. It’s impossible for us to use chain saws in the dirt to get them to ground level. I personally contacted this client twice about her concerns and she still hasn’t contacted me back. Lastly, when I sold them the tree work, I met with her husband. I have never to this day spoke to her regarding any of her tree work. This may possibly be miscommunication between them. We do great work and have an excellent reputation. Please read all of our reviews, thank you. Kenny Mitchell General Manager of Newcomb's Tree Service LLC"

The stump is not even visible anymore. There was nothing that they could have done better. They came out and they beat other estimates. They did a great job. They were quick and clean. Everything was picked up and taken away. Everything was perfect. I would use them again in the future.

I used them in the past; they are excellent and have a very reasonable rate. They get all A's from me: I don't see how you could do any better. I will use them again in the future.

I called and they scheduled a visit for an estimate that day. They faxed the estimate the next few days with a drawing of where the 2 trees were (a pine and an oak). The estimate was $1500 but if we waiting for the emergency was over they would discount it by $300. We ended up having them remove 1 tree and found someone else who said they could save the oak by pruning. After a couple of weeks they came back and removed the pine tree and fallen branches for $600.00

They were great. All the guys were great. They actually showed up early. They said they were real busy and that it would be four weeks. They called two weeks early and said they would be able to come. They took care of everything and they stacked our wood real nice because we were keeping it for my brother-in-law. They were just super. The price was very reasonable and we were expecting to pay more than their estimated price so we had been putting it off. They were the only ones we called based on a recommendation. The quality was very good. They were definitely responsive, punctual and professional. We will call them to come back after the leaves have fallen back to see what other trees need to come down became of the hurricane.

Newcombs was very prompt. They called me if they were going to be late. They did great job and removed the branches from another tree that was partly dying. They cleaned up spotless. My yard actually looked better after they left. The price that Newcombs charged was 1/3 of other service providers. I was very satisfied with their service. The workers were very polite and nice. It was even fun to watch them at work. At my request they cut and left wood for use of my fireplace. I highly recommend them.
