We started what seemed to be a simple repair of our front steps in early June. The company representatives who came to discuss the project seemed very professional and estimated that, while it might take a couple weeks to get started, the whole process should be done in about 48 hours. A month later, demolition finally happened and we were told that there were more problems found. At first, we got a new quote, with a new price, that included work that was already in the first contract. When I called to ask about this, I spent nearly an hour on the phone with Mr. Cervone with him continuing to insist that our initial contract did not cover the work in the second contract. When it became clear that the first contract did, in fact, cover the work, we suddenly were told that our front steps needed to be replaced entirely. I'm not a carpenter. I can't claim that the steps didn't need to be replaced, but I'm surprised that didn't come up until we discovered that the initial repairs were covered in the initial contract. From then on, the repairs still took over a month. Even after I wised up and started asking for deadlines to be included in the contract, I learned that phrases like "weather permitting" and "pending timely delivery of lumber" were open to very broad interpretation and our project was still a week behind schedule. Our porch sat in a state of demolition for a month, for a very simple project. In the end, the quality of the work is about what I expected, but the professionalism of this company, at every stage of the process, left much to be desired. I'd NEVER work with them again.
