It went perfect. The people were courteous and knowledgeable. They cleaned my clothes well and shortened my pants. They cleaned a jacket that I had had cleaned at a few other places, but they actually got the stains out.

Peter was amazing! I know that sounds strange for a dry-cleaning job, but let me explain further. First of all, he told me NOT to dry clean a down-type jacket, but rather to wash it at home. For years, my previous dry cleaner has been taking it and cleaning it -- at a price! Secondly, he fixed two zippers while I waited -- no charge, and with ease. I had been living with one broken zipper for two winters and now it works perfectly. And finally, he took the suede skirt and sent it out (all cleaners do so). When I picked it up a couple of weeks later, the liner hung below the skirt -- a side effect, I've been told, of dry cleaning suede. I brought it back to Peter -- he is shortening the liner, for no charge! I had been going to a different dry cleaner for years. I'm now converted!

The owner is amazing, extremely knowledgeable, and also willing to answer any and all questions. I asked about the environmental consequences of his process, and he honestly explained the ways in which his process helps the environment because it is entirely self enclosed. At the same time, he uses some chemicals that are not organic because they clean better than strictly organic solutions. I very much appreciated his thorough explanation. Plus, you get a dozen bagels free if you spend $50 and the bagel store is just down the street.

The tailoring was well done. The one problem was that, when I arrived on the agreed upon day to pick up the tailoring, it was not yet done (because the seamstress had been ill during the week) and I had to leave for NY the next morning. The owner of the store told me not to worry and ended up delivering all the clothes I had dropped off for tailoring at my house that night! That was pretty incredible service.

Ross cleaners were very accomodating and didn't seem phasesd by my exacting request. Completed the order expertly. Everyone was happy.
