it went awful and my mailbox still does not close and lock.
They did a good job on the outside door and sidelights. The interior door, they left a mess and the mailboxes still don't work.
They would not come back to fix anything until I asked the credit card company for help and reported them to the BBB. Then suddenly they were willing to do something. They lied directly to me, they were terribly rude and I would not hire them to do anything ever again.
I would be happy to post a picture of their work-even the owner agreed that the work they had done looked awful!
It seems you should be able to trust a locksmith-yet when they started lying, I was so concerned that I wanted to have the cylinders changed (not by them) in the locks-they made me so uncomfortable.
i hired them and paid top dollar thinking i would get a good job-let the buyer beware.

The work was for an apartment that I rent out and I live out of the area.  I was at the apartment this morning to meet a painter and the door could not be locked.  A different company (who I called on Friday) was unable to come.  Initially, Brookline Lock Company said it would be a 2-3 hour wait because they had a full schedule.  This would have been completely understandable, but I was hoping for something sooner.  They called me back and said they would switch the schedule around in order to come do the work for me.  I was amazed and thrllled!  The person that came to do the repair was prompt, polite, and very professional.  He completed the work successfully and offered me some additional information about some future modifications with the door that I might want to do down the road(since the locks and doorknobs are old.)
I couldn't be happier with the job and was so appreciative of their going out of their way to accommodate getting to me sooner.

I've been using them for years, when a tenant moves out, we always change the keys to the mailbox. The super works nights so his scheduling is crazy, but he needs to be there when the locksmith comes, so, they're very great with scheduling, and they're prompt. I don't know about the prices because I've always used them and have nothing to compare them to. They come quickly when you need them and their keys always work.

I called Brookline Door Company on the recommendation of my local real estate agent. I told the dispatcher that I had a lock emergency and he immediately connected me to Marshall. After describing he problem, he only required that I verify that I was the owner and that my tenant wasn't trying to break into my condo: a reasonable, and responsible request. Having proven our identities, Marshall sent over a locksmith to fix the problem and got my tenant through the door within 20 minutes. Seriously, WITHIN 20 MINUTES of me calling, the problem was solved. For $70. They are delightful. Will use and recommend them in the future.

The experience itself was fine. However, the quality of the job was horrible. As we learned later, the hinges were inadequate for the job, and the screws were installed incorrectly. Consequently, just over a year later, the hinges pulled away from the door frame to the point where the door was no longer operable. In fact, the only reason it didn't come completely off the wall was because the one remaining original hinge, which is 125 years old!!!, kept it from doing so. I called Brookline Door, explained the problem, and asked politely if they would stand by their work. They said that if the hinges had failed within the first month, then they would have come out to fix them. But the warranty was good for 1 month only, so I was on my own. To the best of my knowledge, in MA work of this sort must LEGALLY be warrantied for 1 year! That point notwithstanding, I decided to drop the issue and called a handyman off Angieslist to come fix the door. I told him a locksmith had originally done the repair and installed the hinges, and he was absolutely incredulous. He couldn't believe that it had been so-called professionals who had installed the hinges, and he proceeded to rattle off a number of errors they'd made. He then fixed the door so that it now works perfectly. I WOULD NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY WITH A TEN FOOT POLE.
