I am here to sing the praises of Marc Curtis, and his crew from Curtis Construction Services. Marc came to our rescue when we had to remove our beloved swimming pool, which was deeply embedded in the mature landscape of our backyard. Removing it without destroying the surroundings was the assignment... an extremely challenging project with limited access thru a neighbor’s woodlot. Marc showed up with his Kubota Excavator and Skid-steer Bobcat to minimize equipment impact and quickly got back to the job site... that alone was a big challenge. Much to everyone’s surprise, the excavation quickly revealed the heavy-duty construction of this early 70’s swimming pool. The pool walls were 12” thick with ½” rebar, plus a tight rebar mesh throughout the pool construction. To handle this unexpected challenge, Marc quickly, and confidently, shifted to a large Cat-312 with jackhammer to get the job done. Marc was amazing in his operator skill. Marc deftly steered and spun the Cat-312, working tirelessly in a very tight area until the pool was a pile of rubble... and our landscape was minimally touched. I don’t believe anyone could have handled this job with such skill and concern for preserving our yard and gardens. Marc always had out best interests front of mind. After demolition, Marc built us a round pad to support our future bluestone patio, plus drainage for the site, installed deep beds of loam to create our new garden. His crew was efficient, careful, and worked hard at executing the project details. I would recommend Marc Curtis to anyone needing precision excavation and landscaping work. Marc is creative, flexible, and above all skillful and resourceful. Great guy to work with... if you have a tough job, you want Marc Curtis.
