I have been using them for years and they have always done a great job. They are always prompt.

We found the Gouthro brothers pleasant to work with, easy to reach, reliable and honest. They deducted from their estimate the cost of previous repairs they had made to the old boiler.  Best of all was their patient and detailed explanation of how the system works, errors in the previous configuration, and how to get the best performance out of a steam heating system.  They clearly are experienced with steam heating systems.  They came back a year later (2012) and tweaked the system at the start of another heating season.

I called back a couple of months later to have my heating system worked on this time. Another guy showed up to look at my system and he said he would call me back with an estimate.  I waited a week and heard nothing so I called him back twice and when he got back to me he said that he would e-mail me the estimate that evening after he got the cost of the materials that were needed.  I never recieved an e-mail and I called back a week later and it has been over 2 weeks and I still have never heard from him.  I have called another company to do the work .  Very frustrating experience and I would not use them again and would not recommend them.

They were very professional and did a great job.  I recommend their services and will use the same in future.

The whole process took about 3 to 4 days from the initial call to finishing the job.  I called them and received a call back very quickly (other companies didn't even call us back).  They were able to take a look at the job within a day and gave me a quote that day.  They carry a binder with their standard rates for typical jobs so they are consistent with their pricing.  I really liked this as I feel some companies will quote you different depending on how busy they are, how desperate you look etc.  They came in lower than all the other quotes I received so I called him back on Sunday to schedule the job.  He again called me back and said he could come the next day as he was doing a job in town.  I gave him a "B" on punctuality only because he was a little late on the timeframe he thought he'd be there, but it wasn't significant and I was happy he could do the job so quickly and get the stove up and running again.  I think they'll be my "go to" plumber in the future.

Old boiler was leaking. A friend recommended Gouthro. I also checked Angie's list. They had a perfect rating. Gary Gouthro was personable and professional. The installation went well and we even had more space in the basement when all was done. I would highlt recommend Gouthro to anyone.

First of all, I call the owner and he said the plumbers make $110 hour, I'm like ok, then for them to install 2 bathroom facets and 1 kitchen facet which took the plumber 2 hours 45 minutes he charged me $450. They charged $25 for materials included in that price. I just felt I was over charged for their hourly service. Would I used them again, probably not. Next time I want an hourly charge for plumbers services, I learned a lesson.........

Everything was great. They provided great service, and were prompt and timely. The work they did looks like art work. It was beautifully done. They were on time and on budget.

Went well. Upon returning my phone call, he determined that I had stopped the water flow, therefore not an emergency, but came to the house within a day to check it. Applied temporary fix; took a few days for him to come back (arent they all busy?) Gave me options for how involved the repair could be, or not.

I had a pipe burst in my kitchen. They came and tried to troubleshoot it and the man was unable to figure out where the burst pipe could be. The man called his father to get his advice on the problem. He had to jackhammer the floor, but in a closet, upon the father advice and were able to find the pipe and repair it. This was nice instead of him using the jackhammer to remove the floor in the kitchen to find the pipe. He was able to replace the pipe and they patched up the concrete when the he was done. He put the pipe on top of the floor in the kitchen behind the appliances, and through the walls to the closet where they repaired the burst pipe. They also installed a valve for the pipe, if any further issue were to occur. I have used this company for many years and they are great. They truly provide great customer service and go above and beyond to try and help.
