I would NEVER, EVER hire this company again. I signed a contract January 2018 with the understanding the project would be started within a few months. Well, that did not happen. In November 2018 I was told the project would start the 1st of the year. I was jerked around until the week before Memorial Day, 2019. I was also told that once the framing goes up, it takes 9 days to complete the job. NOT. The owner Steve was at my house and guaranteed the project would be completed by the 4th of July, but did not say what year. I also requested a new storm door; Steve said because of my patience he would install for free. Finally at Labor Day, I requested that they install the floor since I had patio furniture I wanted to have delivered. My roof keep leaking, I sent 4 emails and all I got from Steve was a song and a dance. He also reminded me that he "gave" me a $700 storm door. After many emails I finally made a phone all. The roofer finally came out and there was no flashing on the roof. A roofer's only job is to install a roof, and they did not put flashing down. The windows were too big and when i spoke with Steve, he again reminded me that he "gave" me a new storm door for $700 and again danced around the incompetence. The windows were fixed, they were too large for the windows and the frames came off, incompetence work. After all the trouble I went through, I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. Their customer service sucks, the quality of work is not that good. I still own the final payment and my plan is to also pay for the storm door and Steve, the owner, WILL NEVER THROW THAT IN MY FACE AGAIN.
Response from Capeway Aluminum & Vinyl Inc
"The contract was signed in August of 2018, the customer at the time appeared very friendly and told us there was no rush. We applied for the building permit which took longer than expected we had to provide necessary drawings and such. After the project was complete the customer did call to explain there were some issues of leaking happening, every time she called we filled out a service call request to have it addressed. After inspection of the roof it was determined that our installer did properly install flashing but the ice & water shield did not adhere properly thus causing water to leak in and we did fix the issue. We installed a screen porch with plexiglass inserts with frames (not windows) in each opening on porch and we try to make them as snug as possible to prevent too much water from leaking in. The customer felt they were too hard to get in and out so we did go back and cut them down a little bit and labeled them so they get re-installed in the appropriate openings in the future. Keep in mind this is a screen porch and it is not water tight, this was explained to the customer. We were in a busy time of year and short handed on installers so the process did take longer than expected until the problems were resolved. We provided a few products at no additional charge to the customer and we apologize on behalf of our company and stride to improve on every project."

It took over 4 months to get job completed, and that was only because I kept calling and asking them to complete the job. Installer, Scott, was great - not indicative of rest of company.

Steve and his team are great.  We replaced all the windows in our old house (25 in all) and got several quotes to do the work.  Capeway came in lower than any other quote.  The other guys were trying to sell unnecessary services and options, seemingly just to drive up the cost.  Steve came out and spent a good amount of time looking at the job in order to put together an accurate quote.  They were finished in less time than other companies were estimating and their work was great.  we have a couple of follow up requests (things we needed them to look at again) and they did so quickly and resolve the issues.  Would definitely recommend them again.

I was pleased with the men I had to work with for the installation. Mr. Fishman came first to see what needed to be done and talk  about a price. He is very very nice and answered all of my questions and concerned. The two men who came to do the actual work were very good and took a shorter time to install than I thought. Very easy to work with in obtaining a time to install. The only complaint I have is with the female secretary assistant. You really need to stop on top of her and follow-up with things. I won't go into details, but let's say I had to get in touch with for various things before she was in touch with me, which should not be the case. I can live with that since afterall, she does nto do the actual work. I would use Capeway again. I thought the price was fair and although I have not had the windows long, they seem to be very good.

Part of it, I feel bad because the owner of Capeway Aluminum & Vinyl Inc has some needs or medical problems but the roof leaks like it still. Capeway Aluminum & Vinyl Inc sent a guy out and he said that the roof needs to be cleaned. I had another guy looked at it and he said it’s the flushing that’s wrong. Unfortunately I already gave them $10,000 and I owe them $250 but was pretty much on a standstill with that right now. The people are nice and the owner had this hip surgery so I would cut them some slack but I don’t think the business is going to be around much longer. They came out due to my complaint in the fall and the first guy said it’s because I had acorn and pine needle there. I had another guy come out and he said the flushing is installed incorrectly and he said that he will give me a letter stating his opinion but he won’t try to finish the job that somebody has done incorrectly for legal purposes and I understand where he’s coming from. It’s sad. They have an amazing reputation to everybody but I think it’s just an unfortunate time. They said the solution is it needs to be cleaned and I had two people look at it and said that was not the problem. I would definitely not recommend them again. The two people thought I was way overcharged. They did this $10,000 additional sun room. I asked them what they are going to do with the floor and plywood. They said they don’t do anything with the floor. They left me with plywood. So we had to change it ourselves. Also, I had someone else because I had that corrected because they won’t do the flush but they’re doing all the work in the house. I'm cutting them some slack because I do know they had legitimate medical issues with the boss and the workers were not as trained as he was. If the boss have done the job this would not happen. What I've been told by two other companies was that they think the price is very high. The woman who works there is very nice. They're just in a mess because they've had jobs that just started because of the boss' medical issues. One of the workers is a nice man but he's in the 70's and its a very physical job. He's the most knowledgeable of all of them but he's an older man and to me its more of a younger guy does the work.

The estimate was slightly high, I thought.  Then there was a delay in ordering/receiving the door and updating me when the installation was ready to go.  However, the two-man team were fast and efficient.  They completed the work in a few hours and showed us all the features of the new slider.  Considering the work is guaranteed and was done well, the relatively slow beginning to the process is an afterthought. I have a window project and will be getting an estimate from Capeway, for sure.

After about a month (plus some extra delay due to rainy weather), the project got underway and Steve's 3-man crew finished the job in one day. They were very professional and neat. I noticed a leak when it rained the next day and I called Capeway. Steve came down about 2 weeks later but was unable to fix it due to thunderstorms. Today (5/24), 2 of his crew came to fix it, as well as a minor leak in the downspout. They are a very professional company to deal with.

After the original estimate, they lost the paperwork, but after that was straightened out, everything went well. They were punctual, professional, and friendly. They did a good job and said to call them back if we ran into any problems.
