Beantown was hired t repair 168 Ruthven St in Dorchester for an 80+ year old elderly woman. The company ruined the home by not replacing the roof they were supposed to. They stole all if the steel railings and support beams, replacing with pressure treated sub-standard wood. They replaced the back porches with sub-standard wood already molding nd rotting. Water damage throughout 3 floor because of the roof. Contracter took over $100,000 from the elderly owner Rosalind E. Jordan. She had nemesia at the time she contracted with him and a reverse mortgage company. Building Inspectional services was also involve with this robbery with out a gun and elder abuse.

The crew were very professional and half the time we didn;t even know they were here. They did great work and can't say enough about them. The job took about two months. Now this is a three family that was built in 1880. So they had to replace the water pipes and electrical. They put more outlets in and can't say enough. We had a brand new apartment and next year we will be using them for the 1st floor aprtment

I was very clear on asking how long it would take. They said it would be quick, but they gutted the kitchen and they didn't come back for weeks. I wanted to pick out all the details of colors, floors, backsplashes, etc. He picked out things without my permission, and would email me saying he would charge me to change the order. They drilled holes in the walls. They dumped trash in the yard, and they would urinate in the yard. They damaged the cabinets when trying to install; this happened 4-5 times. The cabinets put in were defective, and the drawers did not match. They were also not level and damaged the ceiling tried to make it fit. They tried coloring in the chip marks with a marker. There was a large hole in the floor and never repaired the hole in the basement. He was very disrespectful, nasty, and rude, and we were not happy with the job. He threatened to sue my husband for refusing to pay the final payment, because it was not completed. Any time I tried to tell him about something I wasn't happy about, he would fight me about it and not return my calls for one or two weeks. He bought cheap materials and when we tried to tell him what we wanted, he said it wasn't in the budget. He also wouldn't tell us how much the budget was for each item like the cabinets or counter tops or lighting. He made it seem as though he was spending his own money. It took from August to November. He did no inspections at all and did not get permits necessary. He charge $600 for a new kitchen door but they only painted the remaining door and never supplied the new one. The employees also stole the radiator covers.
