Vida Verde Environmentally Sound Cleaning

We first got in touch with Vida Verde to find a cleaner about three years ago.  I really appreciate their business model and the fact that they provide a set service list with transparency about cost for adding additional services.  Their natural cleaning products are a plus and whatever they use smells amazing.   Very pleasant and communicative staff who are great about texting reminders and asking any questions.  They are always doing unexpected things like cleaning out my dirty trash can and cleaning my oven (!).   

Health issues prevented me from keeping my apartment clean for several months.  I looked on Angie's List for a house cleaning service to come give me a fresh start.  Called Vida Verde Coop because of great reviews and great business model.  Heloisa responded right away, with extremely clear communications about services and scheduling.  We were able to make an appointment the same week.   Rosana arrived promptly, brought cleaning products that are safe and have no lingering smells, did a tremendous amount of work, and the results are terrific.  Dusting is careful, tedious and slow work, and washing floors requires a lot of body movement; the amount and quality of the help Rosana provided to me are profound!  I wrote to Vida Verde before she had even left, thanking them for providing this ethical, professional business for our community. Couldn't be better.

She does truly amazing work and I love the co-op's business model. Since the birth of our daughter, Rene has always been so kind to work around her napping schedule in our condo and is always so kind and sweet. She does very thorough work and I love that the products she uses are safe. We've had her do extra work a couple times (oven cleaning, outside windows) and she's done a fabulous job. Rene always communicates well with me if she is running late or early. In addition, the communication I've had with the co-op administration has been prompt and very helpful. We are moving soon and we will miss Rene a great deal!

Two cleaners from Viva Verde came to my apartment to do an initial cleaning. They arrived about 40 minutes late, and there were a few things that I wasn't 100% happy with (inside windows were left dirty, some furniture was put back pointing the wrong direction, etc.), but in general they did a good job. However, Karla did not show up for our second appointment, and no one from Viva Verde called or emailed in advance to tell me that she'd be unable to make it. I rescheduled, and the same thing happened again. After I'd been waiting for Karla for an hour, I emailed Viva Verde to find out if she was still planning to come, but didn't hear back from the office. Needless to say, I won't be using their services again--although I like their business model and the fact that they use environmentally friendly products, this level of unreliability is unacceptable.

Val does an amazing job.  Everything is spotless and tidy -- we LOVE coming home after she's been here.  Our house is large with 5.5 bathrooms -- it's a large job.  Our previous condo was approximately 1/2 the size of our home and we paid $110 per cleaning -- I'd been very worried about what it would cost for our new home, but Vida Verde's price is very fair and the service is impeccable.
I highly, highly recommend Val if you are looking for a cleaning person.

Viva Verde is professional, thorough, and has great customer service. I've had monthly house cleaning from Ruth Alves for several months now. She is always on time, with a smile, and cleans from top to bottom. She responds quickly to emails confirming dates or adjusting to my schedule when needed. I've been really impressed and very happy with their service.  And, it's more than a cleaning service, Viva Verde is a co-op owned by women dedicated to using environmentally friendly products.

I can't speak for all Vida Verde cleaners, but Lucimara does an outstanding job each week.  She vacuums and cleans all floors, dusts everywhere, cleans the bathrooms and the kitchen, and even washes any stray dishes left in the sink. In particular, she does an excellent job making sure to vacuum cat hair off of the furniture. (If I didn't have two cats, I'd probably have her come less often than once per week.) Shen I get home on the days she visits, the house smells clean and fresh (and minty).  And she straightens up papers I might leave out on a table without making it hard to find things after.  I'm looking forward to working with her for a long time to come.

My housekeeper doesn't speak a lot of English.  On the initial estimate, she came with an employee from Vide Verde who translated for us.  I'm a big fan of doing what I can for new immigrants and decided that we could overcome the language challenges.  I showed her the intricacies of my apartment and condo building and arranged for her to have a parking space and a key left with the concierge.  She did a wonderful job of cleaning my place.  I'm very satisfied with her work.  Subsequently, I communicate with her by text message and she's able to respond in a very timely manner.  I look forward to this being a long-term relationship.

I couldn't be happier!  We have gone through several housekeepers in the past, and always found that the quality of service declined over time.  We have been using our same housekeeper from Vida Verde for almost a year now, and our house sparkles every time she is finished.  The price is very reasonable for the level of service provided, and the environmental focus is a huge plus for our family.

They were professional and did a good job.What stuck out about them was how fast they were.

Eni is fantastic.  She cleans our house - while we are all home, mind you (2 toddlers and at least 1 parent), efficiently and with great care.  I have not had a housecleaner before, so I cannot compare the work she does but I can say the house sparkles when she leaves.  I am so happy to have found a group that will clean my house with the environment in mind - rags and no bleach.

They were ontime and did a good job cleaning but had to reschedule the second cleaning. When I asked for a sub, she rescheduled due to snow (completely understandable) but then cancelled.

They clean my two bathrooms, dust, vacuum, living room, dining room, and kitchen. They were coming out at least once a month. They use all natural chemicals. They were professional, punctual, and thorough. I would highly recommend their services to others and I would use their services again.

We've had Vida Verde coming once a month to clean our apartment for the last four months.  The one or two folks who come do a great job, but what is more important to me personally is that they are part of a cooperative -- so not being exploited -- and they use environmentally friendly cleaners -- so they're not poisoning themselves or me or my pets.  The price was slightly higher for the initial deep cleaning, which made the place look really wonderful.    The overall price is slightly more expensive than other companies quoted me, but I am very happy with the results.

Everything went very well. She cleans top to bottom all rooms in my house in about 3 hours. I plan on using their services for the forseeable future. Highly recommend Erica!

They did a bad job.  It was supposed to be a deep cleaning but it was just surface cleaning that they did.  So we will not be hiring them.

The work done was amazing! We had just completed some major renovations and there was dust and yuck in every crevice of the house. After Selma was done, it sparkled! She truly went above and beyond, cleaning underneath beds, inside cabinets, behind curtains and in the nooks of couches. She also found 5 pacifiers in the process :-) Everything Selma uses is all natural and I've never seen my stainless appliances so spot free! We have yound children so it was imprtant to me to not have harsh chemical being used to clean the house. We've had cleaners at our last two houses, and though I was happy with their services, they were no where near as thorough as Selma. The house is a 60s era ranch and just old and need of updates. I didn't think it would ever feel clean in there, but I was wrong. I truly cannot say enough good things. Selma has now started bi-weekly cleanings. We pay $140 for those. It is worth every penny. I couldn't be happier!

My husband and I finally decided to break down and hire a cleaning service for our apartment.  I found them via Angie's list.  They are a green cleaning co-op.  I contacted them via the website contact form.  I received an email the next day asking for additional information (number of rooms, sq ft, what time/day of week, etc).  I receive a quote within a few hours and scheduled the service.  All of this was handled via email and could not have been easier.  They charge a higher price for the first initial cleaning ($140).

Our scheduled time was "Friday afternoon".  As I was working from home, I did not really need a specific time.  Two woman showed up at 12:30 pm and got right to work.  The house has never looked or smelled as good.  Since they only use green cleaning products, the house smelled like mint and not like chemicals. 

They were super nice, efficient and boy, did they do a great job.  The initial clean took about 2 1/2 - 3 hours.  I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a cleaning service!  They are worth every penny, and I look forward to having them keep my house clean.

I hired Vida Verde to clean my family's condo.  The women that I spoke with on the phone and via email were professional, friendly, and very prompt with responses to all of my questions.  They were able to give me price estimates for an initial cleaning, weekly, 2x/month, and monthly cleanings once I gave them some information about the layout of our home.  

Another woman named Valeria was assigned to clean my home, and I was informed that she and her sister would arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. on the appointed day.  They arrived right at 8:30 a.m.  Both women were friendly and answered a few more questions for me (e.g., verifying the price and payment method, estimating how long the cleaning would take, etc).  They were kind enough to ask which rooms I would be using with my young son, so that they could start cleaning in another part of the house.  It was a simple gesture, but I felt that it showed an understanding for our family's needs, and I really appreciated it. 

I did not stay at home the entire time that Valeria and her sister were working.  After making sure they had my phone number and letting them know that their check was on the kitchen counter, I took my son out for the rest of the morning.  When I got home, the house cleaners had already finished and left for the day.  (I was gone quite a while, and I know they were working for at least three hours.) The quality of their work is excellent.  The house smelled nice all day, which is an added benefit of their non-toxic cleaners!  There are a couple of things that I would have liked them to do differently next time, but I don't see these things as problems -- next time I will just mention these minor changes to the house cleaners. 

Based on this positive experience, I plan to contact Valeria and schedule another appointment with her for next month.

I have been very pleased with Vida Verde. They came out and did a preliminary quote, and ever since then I have been having Claudia come monthly to clean our house. She is wonderful and does a thorough job. She emails to schedule which is convenient. I love that they use natural cleaners since we have a cat and baby. The house smells nice when she is done but then no gross lingering toxic smell or anything.
