They came and surveyed the parts of the fence that needed replacement; actually replaced more than another company identified and charged about the same amount of money.

Everything went great.  Job was accurately priced.  Pricing was extremely competitive compared to other companies, one of which wanted $2000 more for the same job.  Greg completed the work within a reasonable time frame.  His daily clean-up was excellent.   He was cooperative and pleasant to work with, and responsive when there were problems.  The fence looks beautiful and has gotten compliments.  Greg and his father have been at this business for decades and their experience showed.  We feel very good about the entire project.

Everything went smoothly from start to finish, and the newly configured fence looks great. 

I called 3 highly rated providers on Angie's List, Reliable Fence, Greg's Fence, and Cleveland Fence.  Phil from Greg's Fence promptly returned my call, promptly set up a time to come by and look at the fence, and after the meeting, promptly gave me a detailed quote -- and asked for a very competitive and reasonable $395, hundreds of dollars less than the other 2 quotes.  He alone saw that we could re-use appropriate sections from the existing fence and gate, which after all, were in good condition, and only the posts would have to be new, saving me money.  Summer is a busy time for fence installers, but Phil from Greg's Fence set up and stuck to a time schedule that worked for both of us, and he communicated clearly with me, letting me know in advance when he was coming out, when the work would be finished, and when he could meet with me so we could together see the work had been completed satisfactorily and he could be paid.  

I called Dig Safe to have them mark the property before Phil from Greg's Fence would start the work (maybe this was unnecessary as the fence posts don't go that deep, but better safe than sorry).  Once Dig Safe cleared the property, in a week, I called Greg's Fence to let them know I was ready to go.  They came out and carefully removed the fence section that needed to be removed, including the cement base under the posts, and competently installed the newly configured section where I wanted them to.  Phil correctly explained it would be better to relocate an existing post of the boundary fence so that the newly configured section would properly line up parallel with the front boundary of the property, and then competently relocated the post.  He put together the re-used fencing and gate sections and the new posts together so that the newly configured fence was solid, correctly installed, and easy to use.  He let me know ahead of time when he would be finished so that I could have an opportunity to review his work prior to paying him.  This whole process was easy, smooth, and satisfactory from start to finish.  The next time I have fence work that needs to be done, I will pick up the phone and call Greg's Fence again.  Thanks!

I called and left a message with Greg's Fence about the work I was looking to have done and was contacted by the next day.   I left messages with two other vendors and to this day, none responded!  Greg's Fence suggested they do a drive-by to evaluate the damaged fence and would leave the quote for the proposed work.  This was accomplished quickly and within only a day or two.   Once I contacted them to go ahead with the repair, they said it would be done within the week, but they actually finished the work 2 days later.  A pleasant surprise!

Greg did a terrific job.  The installation, which he did while we were away on vacation, appeared to go flawlessly.  The quality of the work is really, really high.  It turned out exactly how we envisioned it.  And the price was truly fair -- great value for the money.  

Greg first came by in April to give us a quote.  We decided to go with him quickly after he came by and he told us that work could start in a few weeks.  It took a bit longer than expected to get work started, but we didn't think much of it as we thought there might just have been a back up on materials.  He finally got started at the end of May.  He came by for one day and did a fair amount of work.  However, despite the fact that he told us he would clean up after every day's work, he left lots of holes in the fence and boards with exposed nails.  I called him that night and told him this was a problem because we have a dog and two small children.  The next few days it rained a bit, so he didn't come back.  The next clear day, he returned and cleaned up the yard a bit and left.  He then didn't return for another week.  I started calling him every night asking him when he was planning on returning and he finally returned my call and said he would be there the following day.  He didn't show up, but then showed up the next day.  He worked for about two hours and then left.  It has been over a month since he started working and the job is still not done.  This was supposed to be a two and a half day job and it's now going on five weeks.  He won't return my calls and he won't show up.  The total cost of the job was to be $5400.  We already paid him $3500 and the job is not even half done.  The biggest tragedy is that my kids can't go outside because of the holes and nails all over the yard.  Not only has this been frustrating because the job is not done, but he has denied my kids the use of the outdoors for a good portion of the short Boston spring/summer season.  I am very upset and if he doesn't come soon and finish the job, we are likely going to retain a lawyer to recover some of our money.

They were responsive at first and gave us a good rate.  There were delays in getting the job done and we had to call to find out when he might be back--the communication wasn't great.  Still, I would have given Greg's Fencing an A overall if it weren't for my recent maddening frustration with the company.  The fence was put in in the spring.  By that fall, it was leaning in on itself, such that we had to hoist fence door up in order to fit the latch in between the gate doors to close it.  My mistake for not calling immediately and waiting until the spring a year after the job was done.  Over the past few months, I have called five times between the two contact numbers I have for them in order to get it fixed.  I have left a couple weeks between calls.  My phone number works fine.  I have threatened that I'm on Angie's List.  Still, months later, no call back.  Now I'm trying to figure out if there is a warranty on the work and I should have someone else fix it and sue them for the costs or what.  Phone calls are clearly not working.  Boy it would be great to have a working fence and to have someone move the latch up (would just make it harder to close now), so that my two year old doesn't open it and run into the street (my dog, either).  Thanks for nothing.

From start to finish things went well.  My calls were returned promptly, he listened to my needs and he worked h****** the job.

They were a few days late in starting and a few days late in finishing but I had no particular schedule so I was fine with it. good communication with Greg through emails. Nice company. 

On the day we moved into our house over a year ago, I ran into the chainlink fence along our driveway with the moving van and crumpled the end post.  It was mostly upright but the chainlink part was not connected anymore and it looked awful. I finally decided to do something about this and called Greg's Fencing. They returned my phone call that night, and after we talked about the work, they came out the next day to inspect the damage and left me a written estimate far lower than what I had expected. After that, we communicated through voicemail for about a week until the repairs were done. There was a little confusion that resulted from not actually reaching each other on the phone, and at points it was not clear to me exactly when they would come out. A message they left on Friday said they would be out on Saturday or early the next week; the work was finally done Friday of that week. However, I was not in a great rush (as I had told them) and was very pleased to come home to find the fence restored to its former uprightness. They did not contact me after that, either by phone or with a bill, so I just mailed a check to their address for the amount of the estimate. The quality of the work is great, the price was great, the time frame was actually fine, and I think the communication would have worked out much better had I been available to answer the phone when they called. If I ever run over my fence again, I will definitely call them.

Working with Greg was great. He responded to my request for an estimate quickly and was out at the house within a day to take a look. He installed the fence 2 weeks later while we were at work and it looks fabulous. It was awesome to leave for work in the morning and come home to a new fence with no negative impact or infringement on my day.

Excellent. Greg came over same day that I called. Repaired fence within two weeks. Very good work, fence looks great for fair price. Absolutely will call him again for any future repairs.

We called several companies. Greg's Fencing were the fastest to answer. They went for an inspection of our backyard and kindly left an estimate in our mailbox. Called them back and in two days, on a Saturday to be more precise, they came back and fix it in less then one hour. Wonderful service.

The estimate was reasonable for the work to be done. We had another estimate that was more than double. The work was done as promised. We would definitely recommend him for any fence that needed repair.

Excellent experience, he suggested we stain the fence in order to save money, was there when he stated he would be put the fence in and patched the blacktop where the fence posts went in. Did an excellent job, even added small areas of fence on the far sides to help keep our escape artist dogs in the yard. Looks great, quick service excellent price! Would use him again in a heartbeat and suggest to friends.

He was fine, he was on time, it was not a particularly complicated job and I thought that he did a pretty good job. I feel that he was very competent and his work has held up so far.

He does great work, always there at the time he said he would be, he is very honorable, if something wasn't right he would fix it right away or come back and repair it with charging more.
