CHAPMAN HOME CLEANING SERVICE

They wanted to quit at noon and come back another day. With another charge. I'd paid the full day's charge and they thought that was 3 hours! They definitely cleaned, but only to broom clean, if that. For those charges, I'd want a lot better, e.g. dust boards, ceiling fans, and the like.

I was able to get an appointment for service very quickly, when I needed it. I also only needed a half-day's work and that was an available option as well. The worker showed up on time with all needed cleaning supplies. He did a very good job in the bathroom which was most needed and on the kitchen floor. We ended up having a long conversation in the middle of his time with me, but I know he stayed longer to make up for that. Since this was the first time I had ever had anyone do any cleaning for me, I now know that I need to be a lot more specific with job details and stay on top of the worker more. What is apparent to me that needs to be cleaned (such as dusty, dirty radiators) was not apparent to him, nor were they cleaned. Lesson learned to me to spell it out better, at least when a one time cleaning like this occurs.

I made an appointment to receive an estimate. The gentleman on the phone was not very flexible with times that he was available to come for an estimate, so I arranged to go into work a little late so that I could meet him. He didn't show and never called to tell me he wasn't coming or that he would be late. I never heard from him again at all.

The Chapman office rep was very flexible in arranging a cleaning team that we thought would both fit with my schedule and be able to finish the cleaning job I wanted. He arranged for two men for half-day each, since I could only be at the house in the morning. His words to me were, ''The men will be at you direction for three and a half hours.'' This didn't prove to be the case, at least not as I had understood it. The two cleaners were very nice, relatively thorough (for professional cleaners in someone's home; never the same as cleaning yourself) and open to my specific desires about what/how to clean. However, after finishing all the elements of a normal pre-move-in cleaning, they packed up to leave, even though there was still 45 minutes left in their scheduled time with me (a total of 1.5 hours of manpower.) I questioned them about this, asked if I still needed to pay the full amount, but they clearly were done for the day. I meant to call the office and follow up but never did.
