BARROWVILLE PLASTERING

Tom was referred to me by my painter to plaster my living room ceiling. He came and looked at it, was a very nice guy and seemed very knowledgeable. When he first fixed it, it looked great; a few weeks later, we noticed cracking. He came back and fixed it and said we needed to lower our heat for a week to 65 degrees. We did this and three days later it was cracking again. We contacted him and have not heard back. My painter contacted him and he said he thought we had our heat up and he was not coming back to work for free. My ceiling has huge cracks and it looks like pieces may fall on our head. We paid $1260 and our ceiling is far worse off than it was. It cannot stay like this. He claims to have a warranty service, but he does not as we even offered to discuss alternative options and he refuses to call us back.

This is the second time we have hired Tom Dempsey to do plastering for us, and both times we found him to be responsible, thorough, clean, and most of all to do excellent, detailed work. He quickly grasped and embraced a complex punch list of tasks, and performed all of them better than expected. Also, he was honest about when he would show up. In addition, the scope of the job increased considerably between the time he bid it and when he came to do it (because I got more ambitious in the meantime.) He charged less than 10% more for a much larger job.
