Stared at my front loading washer, read directions on pamphlet, didn't have a clue what to do, wasted 1.5 hours of my time, charged me $95 dollars and left me with a broken machine.  I called next day to ask him to give me all or some money back which he agreed to and never has.  I called again two weeks later and asked again which he agreed to and still never has.  I am a single middle aged woman and he obviously decided he could take complete advantage of me.  I literally knew more about the machine than he did.  He should have admitted he knew nothing about modern front loaders and told me to find someone else.  I called another company before his and that is exactly what they told me.  This man basically lied to me from the start and has lied to me twice about refunding some of my money.  I do not recommend him at all and think he has a very poor work ethic.  If you have an old clunker, he might be your guy!!  Has no clue how to fix a modern front loader so don't waste your time or money.  I am appalled that he treated me this way and I am probably not the first.  If I was a man, he would not have done that.  I contacted another company after he ripped me off and they came and fixed my machine within 10 minutes of arriving and the contrast was, they knew exactly what to do.

Response from Brewster Appliance
"I received a phone call on Sept 10th 2013 “I’m in a jam, I was wondering if you could help my out.” Washer not working & needed repaired ASAP. Arrived in a few hrs (same day). Found a Duet (Whirlpool) front load washer getting an error code. Error code “S-35,”M#WFW9500TW01.” We started worker and we watched to see what part of the wash cycle the code would appear. After filling & working after 20 min or so, the machine stopped & there was the error code. I retrieve the “Tech Sheet” from its location, topped to inside of side panel. Looked up the Error Code “S-35,” and read pressure rebuild problem. The remedy was to replace the port, it also recommended checking the wire harness & connections as this is by far the most common reason for failure. After checking connector and resetting all other connections in all controls & switches we ran cycle again. About 20 mins the error code appeared again. I then put washer into diagnostics to see if we could get more detail about our issue, and to see if other error codes come up. This entire time customer was with me & I patiently explained what was going on. We had a very nice time chatting back & forth. She was telling me about the up coming weekend date with her boyfriend, motorcycle ride to Provident Town with some other bikers. We determined that we need to replace the pressure switch. She asked how long it would take to get the part. + said 3 days. She paid me $95.00 which is the standard service call charge. I said I would call when part arrived & we would set up apt. On my way home phone rang & customer said “I just realized I paid $95.00 & my washer is still not running.” We discussed what we should do & we agreed I’d give ½ the money back. After I thought about it I realized I just spent 2 ½ hrs on this project, easily worth 95.00. Customer did not want to follow through with repair. Not my fault. Therefore I will not refund any money to this customer."

My two year old refrigerator had not been working well ( keeping food cold) for quite some time.  It seemed hot to touch on the outside sides. I had called the manufacturer who insisted that all refrigerators of my make and model got hot on the sides and
suggested that I just adjust the internal temperature gauge to deal with keeping the food cold.
Ford was responsive to my call and arrived promply at the agreed upon time.  He listened to my saga and immediately targeted the fan under the refrigerator.  Upon checking it out.. he discovered that the original backing block around the fan had never been removed... With that removed the compressor can work properly to keep the food cold and the unit has been working like a dream ever since...(even with a family reunion of 12 people opening and closing the refrigerator numerous times.)..
Because Ford did not have to do an actual repair he reduced the service fee just to cover his time and the trip to my house.
Thanks to you Ford, my ice cream is ice cream... not soup !!

Had problem with puddles of water on floor when doing laundry.  Called Barnstable Appliance and received a call back right away. He came to the house the same day.  Could not find anything wrong with washer but found slow leaking from water control valves.  Replaced the valves and no more puddles!   Very professional and pleasant!

Ice machine in freezer wasn't working - parts had fallen out and it no longer made ice.  He wasn't sure if he could repair it and was set to order a whole new replacement, but he was able to put it back together and showed me how to do it as well - saved me time and money.  Nice guy, prompt service and fixed the busted ice maker :-)

Ford from Brewster Appliance showed up on the day and time agreed upon. I bought a stove that needed to be converted from LP gas to Natural gas. Ford changed out the orifices checked the stove, fine tuned the flames and even helped me order a part for a broken ice maker on my fridge. Ford was a nice guy, very efficient , knew what exactly had to be done and took care of the problem. Well worth the two hundred and I will use him again if the need arises. Thanks Ford for a very nice job.

He showed up on time, actually called to see if he could arrive early.  It took him about an hour from start to finish and he accepted the angie's list coupon cheerfully.  He cleaned up after himself and was quiet and professional.  I would definitely use him again for other appliance repairs or installations.

"Hi, Nice review, thank you, however this is not the work that I performed. This was done by someone else. I was there and worked on the washing machine, there were 2 parts needed, and the cost was going to be to high to warrant furthur work. Thanks, Ford"

He did a good job each time and we found him to be completely trustworthy and dependable. Our oven is finally working well but we would call Ford again for any appliance issues.

I moved a chest freezer from PA to Brewster and when I got it in place, it wouldn't work. I called Brewster Appliance (a one man operation) and spoke to the owner/technician. He came to the house at exactly the time we'd agreed upon, diagnosed the problem, replaced the relay and had the freezer cool within one hour. I was impressed that he could take a credit card for payment on the spot. I'm glad we found Brewster Appliance!

It's worth noting that Brewster Appliance website has an huge list of services to offer, from Appliance Services (A) to Water Purifiers - but our call was about a broken refrigerator.

Like most refrigerator issues (probably) ours caused some panic, and two previous attempts to obtain a service call weren't successful (although the first provider we called wanted to be helpful and ran through a brief checklist with us on the phone, but ultimately wasn't familiar enough with our model to warrant a visit)  It was a Saturday and we hadn't noticed the warm atmosphere in the fridge until lunchtime, so our effort to try and find a repair person was urgent, since Sunday would be that much more difficult.  We called Brewster Appliance, and after reviewing the same checklist on the phone (for instance, "Is there power?" (yes, the interior light is on) and so forth) Mr. Kirkbride told us he could be there around three o'clock.  He appeared as promised, fixed the refrigerator, and gave us a bill that was very reasonable.  We are happy to recommend Brewster Appliance and Mr. Kirkbride.
