JD & Associates Construction

We hired Joe to help us gut and re-do most of our home including two baths and a kitchen. He did everything but put the kitchen cabinets in. Joe kept things on budget, on time and with good quality. He was easy to work with and had fair prices. I plan to hire him in the future as we save up for future projects.

It went smoothly considering it was a construction project.

Joe and his crew were great. The project took a little longer than expected, but we were doing a renovation mortgage which complicated things (not Joe's fault). Everything turned out beautiful. Our house finally feels like it's ours and Joe helped us get what we pictured turned into a reality. We worked with another construction company for a previous renovation (converting a garage into living space) and were frequently frustrated by the lack of communication and in some cases making decisions without consulting us. This was NOT the case with Joe. He checked in with us frequently to make sure everything was the way we wanted it to be! We love the work and our kids love the new open space to run around! I highly recommend Joe, and would certainly work with him again.

It was great working with Joe. We changed our plans quite a bit over the course of the project and joe was able to accommodate the increased workload. Over the course of the project, he was always available to answer our questions and to help us make decisions on the design and scope of work. The result of the project is a home that feels new and actually even bigger than it used to, despite the fact that we didn't add any square footage. We are very pleased with Joe and Greg's and their subs' work, overall and would absolutely recommend him to friends and family. All told, here are the highlights of the project: - expanded a first floor bathroom - installed a huge custom tiled shower - moved plumbing to accommodate our design - Gutted and renovated an extra room into a playroom for our son - Installed semi-custom cabinetry in the playroom - Recessed Lighting in Living Room and new playroom - New surface for old living room and dining room ceiling - Installed a new chandelier in Dining Room - Ran electrical and cable through walls for two wall mounted TV's - Renovated a guest room to make it bigger - Full gut remodel in small upstairs bathroom - Repaired older windows for waterproofing - Refaced fireplace and installed new marble tile hearth - Painted Kitchen and installed new trim moldings

J&D Associates do an excellent job.  Joe is on site every day working with his team and the sub-contractors (electricians, plumbers, etc...) ensuring everything is going smoothly.  He has a great network of companies he recommends for tile, countertops, cabinets, and more.  My wife and I started out with a list of things we wanted to do to the house that were quoted by J&D and agreed too, but as we got into the project, we made multiple changes/additions to the job, and Joe was very patient and helpful in making these adjustments and additions, keeping us informed on the cost, timing, and details.
Roof
Roof was done in 1 day, and it looks/works great.
Kitchen
My wife and I started off with a few ideas, and Joe got us in touch with Cape Cod Lumber to help bring our ideas to life, while at the same time provide some new ideas that we hadn't thought about.  We knocked out the wall between kitchen and dining room, and added an opening in the wall between the living room and kitchen to open the first floor up.  Kitchen looks great, couldn't ask for a better outcome.
Upstairs Bathroom

Den/Office
The room was an addition that was very poorly done - not insulated properly, leaks on two sides, ugly flooring, etc... .  Looks like a new room!  Vaulted ceiling looks amazing, and added insulation keeps the room the same temp as the main house, added electric heat baseboard, installed sliding glass door, painted.

The quality of the work was very good.

Just finished a major demolition/remodel of our kitchen using JD & Associates (Joe and crew).  We got their name from Cape Cod Lumber in Abington, where we decided to get our cabinets.  It took a few meetings with Joe to determine what we wanted to do versus can it be done and he went above and beyond to make our dream happen.  It was wonderful to have someone let you know straight out what could be done, what might look better, have you ever thought of doing this, etc....  No project this size is without some sort of problems, but every twist and turn was dealt with professionally and promptly.  They were clean (very important), considerate of the household residents that were always around, and showed up when they said they would.  And, I really liked their choice of music, which may seem trite, but helps when someone is in the house for 6 weeks.  All in all, a professional job and we are thrilled with the outcome.  Would highly recommend.

From demolition to finish the job took 4 weeks exactly as promised.Several issues that came up during construction were handled perfectly by Joe and his crew. As well as competent Joe and all his crew were pleasant and fun to work with.What is a nightmare in many ways(having no kitchen for a month,doing dishes in the bathtub etc.) the overall experience was fun and exciting. Including all materials,appliances,etc. project cost approx. 70000.00 but the combination of high quality workmanship and materials was worth it. Joe definitely left us with the "wow" factor!!!  We are so pleased with JD and assoc. that yesterday 5/6/14 we started our 2nd project with them - a complete master bathroom renovation. I highly recommend JD and Assoc. to any and all interested parties.

Responsive and professional. Seemed to have a good rapport with his subs (electrical, plumbing, tilework, plastering). I wound up spending more than I wanted to, but overages were reasonable and understandable. Costs noted below are for everything excluding the actual floortile, cabinets and countertop. Kitchen came out looking great.

Joe responded immediately to my inquiry.  He came to prepare an estimate and put me in touch with an excellent kitchen designer.  I received an estimate for the project in a timely manner and work was scheduled.  Joe assembled a team that included an electrician, plumber, dry wall expert and floor installer.  Eash provided quality work and was as professional as was Joe.  There are many decisions to be made in this type of project and Joe made the process easier for me by recommending appliance stores, granite top vendors, etc.
The cost of the project did not stray much from the original estimate.  The only varience was due to a structural 'surprise' once the walls came down (that this might happen was made known to me at the start).  I made a decision on how to proceed and Joe provided an estimate for the additional work.  When the actual cost exceeded this estimate, Joe charged what he originally stated, a very admirable trait.
There were a few things that needed tweaking post project.  Joe guarantees his work and true to what he stated he came out and addressed these small issues at no extra charge.
I highly recommend JD & Associates and would readily use them again myself.
