+ -1 moreI found out about Hawthorne Builders from a friend who had just re-done all of the bathrooms in her house. She raved about the work and the company, so I was happy to have a reference from someone whom I trusted. The quality of the work was excellent. My absolute favorite thing about Hawthorne Builders is that Steve (the owner) communicates with me via phone and email. He ALWAYS shows up when he says he will and always returns calls and emails promptly. We are looking forward to working with Hawthorne again for some additional projects.
Description of Work: We used Hawthorne Construction to demo an existing gas fireplace and install a new one. The job also involved designing and building a new mantel that mirrored the style of the rest of the woodwork in our 100+-year-old home. In addition, we had Hawthorne build a built-in bed and bookcase in an awkwardly-shaped room in our finished attic. Steve and Joe were prompt, courteous and did amazing work. During the course of the fireplace renovation, I changed my mind about a few design elements, such as height of the new fireplace and the overall design of the mantel. In each case, Steve cheerfully made the changes and worked with me to figure out how to translate my ideas into a beautiful finished product. Our next project is renovating an office off of our kitchen with new cabinets, additional counter space and a more efficient lay-out. We've been thrilled with the work performed by Hawthorne Buildings.
