My car was making a horrible racket yesterday on the drive to and from work in Boston. Since I have a long commute, having a safe and reliable car is absolutely necessary. This morning I stopped by Baystate Automotive and asked if they could look at it. As I suspected, the brakes were done in, "metal on metal" was how Peter described it - that certainly explained the awful noise. Even though today is New Years Eve and he was planning to close early this afternoon, he squeezed my repair into the day, called for parts, got them delivered and fixed the car while I waited. It's not a fancy place, and not comfortable like the dealerships to wait for service, but they get the work done well, fast and at a reasonable price. It's probably best if you can drop your car off, rather than waiting, but either way, they do great work and I trust them.
Description of Work: This time Peter replaced very badly worn rotors, pads and calipers on my 2003 Honda Civic.

As with all of our previous experiences, Peter responded immediately, understood the issue and worked quickly to get our car in for repair and back on the road. Peter provide a free estimate for the repairs and indicated the time it would take to complete. He is extremely affordable compared to other mechanics and has always been open and honest with us concerning necessary or elective repair. When we picked up the Murano and returned to the inspection garage it passed with flying colors.
Description of Work: My husband has a 2004 Nissan Murano. Recently, the Murano failed a state inspection due to outer ty-rod ends which affects the steering. While the inspection garage offered to repair the truck, we've been going to Peter and Baystate for all previous repair and sevice on this vehicle. My husband called Peter from the inspection garage and he immediately made time to repair the issue. Before the day was out, we were able to pick up the Murano and go back to complete the inspection.
