Paul was very responsive and accommodating despite the fact that I was not locally available to discuss the project. He got the keys from my realtor, performed the work with no delays. His pricing was fair.

It was time to paint the exterior of our home, which I always dread because of the hassle in finding a good and reputable painting contractor who will come in and do what they say they will do during the sales process. After talking with four or five painters, we decided to go with Paul Chalifour. I do most work to our home myself because I have the skills and pay close attention to detail. Something most contractors do not do. Painting the exterior was just too big a job so I had to give that work to someone else and hope they would demonstrate the same level of detail to our home that I do. Alex and his crew from Paul Chalifour were just that. Meticulous, neat, thorough, and detailed. Our home has had peeling problems due to improper siding application in the 80’s. Alex and his crew scraped, sanded, pressure washed, and primed taking special care to all areas in need of greater attention. They then applied the paint and the result is amazing. The house looks new again!! And they painted everything. Even things I would not have thought to do like the mailbox post and even taking the firewood out of its shed to paint the inside of the shed. We could not be more pleased. Paul Chalifourd will be the only painting contractor I turn to for all my future painting needs, inside and out.

I called Paul, after I found his name on Angie's List. He came out the next day to look at the work, gave us an estimate that was $500 less than the painter (not from Angie's list) who had postponed the job twice! Paul's crew began the work two days later. They did a phenomenal job. Everything looks brand new and was done with great attention to detail. They cleaned up everything. There were no paint chips or dust inside or outside. I will call Paul for all of our painting work from now on. Very grateful that he could help us in a timely manner and this reminded me why the membership in Angie's list is worth every penny! Reliable service!

The house was in really rough shape - peeling, rotting trim, dilapidated steps, and more! Alex kept me apprised every step along the way about what was happening! He is a perfectionist! The next door neighbor remarked that he had never seen such a thorough prep job. The carpenter, Marcio, did a very professional job rebuilding the front steps, shingling the front porch, and replacing rotten trim pieces. The house looks like it is brand new! This is the second big job that Paul has done for us - we heartily recommend Paul Chailfour Painting Contractor!

This is my second time using Paul Chalifour's painting company in the past 4 years. I was happy with the job he had done when I was selling my last home, so I called him for a quote to repaint my new condo. I called one other company as well for a comparison. Paul's quote was about $1,500 less, but that wasn't the only reason I'm pleased with the job. I needed to have this done quickly, between closing on the home and moving in. It's about 1700 square feet on two floors, and I was in a hurry because the carpet still had to be laid down after the painting and before the move in date. Paul was able to muster an army to attack this job. They showed up early Monday with what looked like 10 painters. I walked through the home with the "foreman" to point out exactly what was needed in each space, take down towel racks and closet shelves, flat paint here, trim paint there. Everything was done just as I had asked and the crew stayed late to finish by Tuesday night. I could not believe they did the job that fast. Moreover, there was a small area that was missing baseboard trim and they asked me if I wanted them to put it in. I said yes, assuming there would be an additional charge. When I went to pay for the job, there was not an additional cost for this "extra". That was a pleasant surprise! I should point out that the painters who work for Paul are all very nice and respectful of one's home. They take care to protect the floors etc and are good about cleaning up. Finally, a few days after I moved in, I notice a couple of small areas that needed touching up. (They were probably missed because it was dark when the painters were finishing). Paul offered to send someone the very next day do the touch ups and all is well. I'm happy with the work performed and I would recommend the company to others.

We had them from Angie's List. They didn't do the job right the first time. 3 times they came out to do the job right. He kept coming back and he did it until the job was done right. He came with another guy to do the job. They were professionally dressed. They had the painting shirt with the name of it. They were very nice. We had ceiling cracks. When they came, they put the repair material. They didn't sand it down right so I could look at the lump. When they painted it, they missed some areas. It was a good price.

They did not scrape the house properly but did not sand prior to painting. They did not prime everywhere they needed to, and they painted over exposed chips of paint, and sprayed paint on without brushes. It was a quick job and when asked to address issues, they were less than cordial. He reminded me that we did have a moisture issue that caused the paint to bubble in some places and that was not his fault. He was very responsive to the bubbling. Overall I would give a B-, and not a B, but that was not an option.

"Wow! You know that your house has a HUGE moisture problem. When you pop a bubble that has formed on your house and water runs out of it, clearly there is a problem. And what did I do for you , at no charge? Not once, but twice? I came back and installed a wedge vent system, re-primed with latex primer and re-pained. TWO YEARS IN A ROW. Please name ONE time I was not cordial to you and you fellow owner. Until you strip the siding off and tyvek under your new, pre-primed siding, you house will continue to bubble and peel. I went the extra mile plus for you and I feel your review is disingenuous. Anyone who reads this review I would ask that you read not all the A reviews I have, but the very few bad reviews I have. With one and now two occasions I accept full responsibility when I'm in the wrong. I'm not perfect, nobody is...but in this case I feel I did the right thing for this client."

project started well. clean up went well but within a week the new paint was chipping and/or peeling from several areas. contractor was called, he came by and now used a moisture meter to determine we had a moisture problem. he would call back to confirm a date and time to return. keep in mind he has now been paid in full. Four weeks later and still no response. A second call was made after a complaint was filed and now he returned the call. Repainting was soon done but it took 4 weeks and a complaint filed before any remedial action was started. because of the poor response time we can not recommend this contractor.

"Let review the time line again. Upon getting your first call I came the next day. I discovered the source of the problem: excessive moisture in your attic.I left my $250.00 state of the art meter with you to monitor your use of fans to fix the problem. It was left with you to call me when your reading were within limits. Two plus week passed and you called. Here is my culpability in this matter. I said my worker would come the next day to do the repair work. I did not follow-up. When you made your complaint I called you immediately and apologized. My worker was out the next day and took care of the work. I accept full responsibility for not following up. But I also went the extra mile helping solve the problem. The over all job was done wonderfully and I feel your grading on those area's was unfair."

The crew was excellent. Job was completed in less than 2 weeks despite some rainy days.They came on Saturday to make up for lost time. They did lots of extras at no cost such as painting my lamp post and staining the floor boards and ceiling of my farmers porch. The quality of the prep work and painting was outstanding. We are very pleased with the job and will definitely use Paul's company in the future for outdoor and indoor painting.

Paul and his crew did a wonderful job! The 1820's barn was in desperate need of painting. They scraped off most of the old paint, primed and painted. They also glazed the windows! The barn has been restored to better than new! They totally cleaned up the chips - just like they were never there! I heartily recommend Paul for any painting!

We are very pleased with the work that Paul's team completed. His team was professional and performed quality work throughout the project. Starting with the estimate, Paul was helpful in making recommendations to scope the work in a way that made sense to fit our current budget. Once the work began, Paul's team was always on schedule and produced high quality work, the front of the house now looks great. Our house is not the biggest or fanciest on the street, but it is now the MOST beautiful thanks to Paul and all his guys. Anderson, Lando and the rest of the carpentry crew worked to replace all the rotten wood around the entire house. They did a great job, and were willing to change and redo anything we asked. The painters, Alex, and his crew have made our house look new even though it was built in 1827. Alex even chased the dog, Ollie, around the neighborhood and returned him in his arms when Ollie escaped.
All the guys were polite, respectful, and always working when they were here. Thank you Paul and crews.

Paul's paint crew lead by Alex showed early every morning and worked until 6 PM. They went over and above to ensure that paint was put on right and would last for years. they took on several extra tasks to make sure the project would be perfect. I am a very accomplished do-it-yourselfer with a critical eye. Paul's crew exceeded every expectation.

Paul came and gave a solid quote with a competitive price. We scheduled a start date and he let us know it would be a day or two later due to weather. His team came and scraped and washed day 1, they did not come day 2 (we knew) because of weather. On day 3 they completed prep and began priming. They spent the next 4 days priming and painting. Overall the job went well. They left the house clean everyday. His team was working fairly late most days. They replaced and repaired some shingles that were rotted etc with no added cost. We are happy with the work and have asked for a quote on some interior work we want done and our neighbor across the street came asking for his business card.

We were long over due for some repairs and painting and the back of the house was the most neglected. When work started the carpenter worked for two days. Followed by one day for scraping, sanding and power washing, one day caulking, one day priming, one day top coat. Every crew was professional, friendly, and skilled at their job. Rather than watch the clock they worked each until the job was completed, which one day was 7:00pm. Every day the crew cleaned up the entire area and did a double check before they left.
As important to us as the work being done is the communication and responsiveness of the contractor. Paul could not have been any better. He called me within hours of my first message. He showed up when he said he would, and the day that it was too wet to paint he came by to tell me. It was our good luck that Paul was able to be schedule us within a very short time. While Paul was not the lowest bid or the highest bid we received I am sure we got what we paid for in quality workmanship. This was such a great experience I don't know why we waited so long.

Great crew, was punctual, polite, clean-up after their work, and very hard working. The crew rang the door bell at 8 am on the dot, and worked incredibly hard without breaking until lunch, took a 30 min lunch break, and worked until the end of the day. They were fast, did a nice job painting, and cleaned up after themselves. In 40 hours, the crew got 2 coats of paint on the ceiling and walls in two large bedrooms with 16 foot ceilings, a stairwell, and bathroom. Very pleased with the crew and the work they did!
