SMART PAINTING

Initial work was fine, scraping & painting looked good.

HOWEVER, paint started peeling and bubbling within 2 1/2 yrs. The contract included a 7 yr. warrantee.

Owner Del Smart did come to the house and readily agreed to redo bad areas. That never happened. In the intervening years the paint became worse and worse, we're now 5+ yrs out, and Mr. Smart has never come back to repair the bad areas after many calls.

I finally gave up, tiring of fighting a losing battle.

The address listed is no longer valid, so impossible to file a small claims action and even if one could and won, collecting damages would be impossible.

It seemed to go OK but the finish product was disappointing.  The paint began to peel  the first year. We asked him to come back and touch up but he never came. Have a new painter this year to do the touch up and he told me the paint the previous painter used was the lowest grade. This upset me because I asked the original painter to use Benjamin Moore's top line paint and that I didn't mind paying the few extra hundred dollars for the better paint. I feel we wasted thousands of dollars on the previous paint job.We had this painter do another property and it also started to peel within the first year.

The project went quickly and the workmen were polite and professional. They left everything very neat. I was pleased with the result and would use them again.
