"Boston Walk-In Bath would like to respond to the review submitted by [member name removed] in Enfield CT. We have at our discretion replaced both the hot and cold knobs for you and recaulked the tub. We scheduled a service call with your husband for 2-18-2014 and apparently he did not pass the message along to you. Upon completion of our service call on 2-18-2014, your husband signed a customer satisfaction review sign-off sheet. He specifically checked off that the tub did not have any visible leakage or damage and that there were no gaps or cracks in the caulking. He also confirmed (in writing) that he was still happy with the product. Additionally, he agreed that the following was also in good working order: faucets and handles / no visible leakage or damage shower head, no leakage diverter door handles door gasket grab bars still tight no larger gaps or cracks in caulking wallshower clib still intact interior access area, plug motor and water connections Boston Walk-In Bath and Stairlift prides itself on customer service and satisfaction. Please feel free to visit our website for over 30 positive reviews from our customers [hyperlink removed]"
This is no way to run a business especially one that deals with the disabled. What a disgrace...Please find yourself someone other than Boston Walk In Bath (and owner Robert Presti) to assist you and/or your loved one with their needs. Spend your money wisely as it is hard to come by these days. Find someone who cares about and has a passion for what they do and wants to work for you. That would not be Robert Presti or his company!
"Boston Walk-In Bath would like to follow up to the review submitted by the member. The Thyssen Krupp stairlift that the member mentioned was never purchased or installed by us. When he called (on a Saturday) to ask about maintenance he was informed that Thyssen Krupp is out of business, but that we would refer him a trained Thyssen Krupp repair man on Monday. Unfortunately, we were all caught off guard that Monday (4/15) by the Boston Marathon Bombings and the subsequent chain of events that the member's call did go unreturned. However, on 4/19, when the member called back, we promptly provided him with the contact information of the Thyssen Krupp (TK) repair man and also followed up with an email to the TK repair man letting him know to expect a call from the member for maintenance. Therefore, no return call to the member was needed. This review is particularly slanderous, given that this product was not purchased or installed by Boston Walk-In Bath and Stairlift and is based on a single unreturned phone call of a person that we have never done business with. Boston Walk-In Bath and Stairlift prides itself on customer service and satisfaction. We would encourage readers to try us out and draw your own conclusions."
UPDATE: After some backing and forthing and many ignored phone calls, we were able to get a refund of my Father IN Laws $3000 deposit in full! It should have not taken so long but it did happen finally!
"This review was just brought to our attention and after reading it, we would like to respond. Boston Walk-In Bath and Stairlift’s standard (and upfront) process is to provide a price over the phone. When [remove member name] called, we provided him with the standard price of $4,450. As stated in the review, they agreed to the price and we were asked to proceed with the sale for the next day. Mr. Presti arrived at [remove member name]house to find the 96 year old shoveling his walkway. Mr. Presti immediately helped to finish shoveling, making the statement from the reviewer “do not allow them to be alone with the elderly” particularly hurtful and unwarranted. After helping with that task, they entered the house. Mr. Presti measured the staircase and the order was placed. Mr. Presti followed our standard procedure and received a deposit from [remove member name] in the amount of $3,000. As requested, we waited to deposit the check. Shortly thereafter we received a request for a CASH refund. Providing a cash refund is not our standard procedure, nor how it was originally paid for by Mr. [remove member name] Per our accounting procedures, we process Accounts Payable on a bi-weekly basis. Our records show that we sent [remove member name] a refund check on 2/1/2013, less than 10 business days after the order was cancelled. They deposited the refunded check and it cleared on 02/07/2012. Boston Walk-In Bath and Stairlift prides itself on customer service and satisfaction. We would encourage readers to try us out and draw your own conclusions."
