I would not hire Street & Company to take out my trash. They have done a horrendous job, in my opinion, of managing our condominium building in Beacon Hill. Brooks Porter is almost completely unresponsive whenever an issue arises, and Street & Company's answering service has been consistently rude. As just one example, we had a major issue with a washing machine overfilling and leaking into the two units below us, which required a new ceiling and repaired/repainted walls in one unit, and repaired/repainted walls in the other. We could not get a hold of Brooks for several hours (we first called in the early evening, shortly after business hours), and when we complained, he told us that it was "not an emergency" in his view. There were several other occasions on which we could not get in touch with Brooks either by phone or by e-mail, and he never returned messages or responded to e-mails, and other instances in which the building wanted to do work that was delayed because Brooks failed to get information/bids he had offered to get from vendors. It is like pulling teeth to get him to do just about anything other than show up an annual meetings and take notes. Although the pricing at Street & Company is somewhat lower than other management companies, and it has been around for many years (under other management, perhaps?), it is my opinion that you should look elsewhere and avoid Street & Company at all costs. Having had experience with other management companies, none of which are perfect (far from it), Street & Company has been, in my opinion, the worst.
