We hired Smook Architecture to design a two-story addition to our home. We wanted something modern that wouldn't look out of place in our historic neighborhood. The project was complicated by both the small size of the property and the slope of the land, which necessitated a split-level connection to the existing house. Clay and Patrice created a beautiful design that is interesting on the outside and gorgeous on the inside. The second story great room has lots of large windows, letting in light and a view of the trees behind the house. I feel like I'm in a treehouse when I'm sitting in the modern bay window. Clay and Patrice were easy to work with; they were very responsive to our communications, took our design requests into consideration, and were punctual. We had a couple of other estimates that were cheaper, but we decided that good design was worth the money. I have only good things to say.
