I've never had a more disturbing interaction in a store in my life. When I picked up my glass order—replacing a piece with a specific pattern orientation—the size was right but the pattern orientation 90 degrees off. When I attempted to point this out to Sam, he exploded, verbally haranguing me, accusing me of trying to take advantage of him, on and on. He would not discuss it, replying to several attempts to start a reasonable dialog with more abusive verbal assaults. He only takes cash and I had prepaid (required) and he would not refund the money. He essentially verbally chased me out of the shop. The man is unhinged—I strongly recommend that if you need glass, you find another option.

He demeanor is curt and surly. The work was terrible -- done "quick and dirty." The piece of glass he cut was of a thin and inferior quality and it has a scratch. He did not polish the edges of the glass, nor did he even do us the courtesy of cleaning the glass, which was dirty and had hand hand and finger prints on both sides. He also left pieces of masking tape on the glass and on the table -- what it was there for is anybody's guess.
It is obvious that he has no pride in his work and that he saw us as a quick and easy buck and he treated us and the job as just that.
I would encourage everybody to do what we did not do: take your business anywhere else but here.

We contacted Sam's Glass for a couple of reasons:  1.  he's a neighborhood guy and we really believe in supporting local business  2.  he was able to install our glass that week and he had what we wanted on hand Sam isn't the most "approachable" guy, but if given the chance he warms up.  I went in to talk to him about some glass for an interior door and he was a little cold, but once I started talking to him, he was very polite and helped me with what I needed.  I paid a deposit, he came over 3 days later to measure and install our glass.  It looks awesome! If you are looking for someone to fluff you up, and make you feel all warm and gooey inside, Sam is not your guy.  If you want a job well done, no nonsense, a good product and don't want to pay over your quote, then call him up!  You won't be disappointed with the end result.

Very unprofessional. Worked shirtless (with body odor) when taking initial measurements. Returned to complete job over 4 months after taking the measurements. He pushed very hard to get another job I had not contemplated.

This was a horrible service experience! Sam was extremely rude and unprofessional. He came the first day to measure the window and then disappeared for 2 and 1/2 months. I called 4 times without a return call. It wasn't until I called again that he answered and set up a time to come back. When he was there he wasn't shy about sharing very rude comments about just about anything on his mind. The quality of the work is not as good as I had hoped. My advice to others would be to run!!!

One of a small number of Boston glass ''professionals'' who collect the little doo-dads necessary to repair hulking metal-frame Back Bay windows, Sam's glass leaves much (MUCH) to be desired. Very difficult to get in touch with. Slow to return calls. Difficult personality. Unprofessional and not courteous. After initial visit, during which only partial work was done, Sam did not return for more than 2 months. During first visit, Sam tracked muddy foot prints throughout my condo and on my light-colored carpet. When asked to remove his boots during second visit (2 months later), Sam refused, claimed that he ''could not work without my boots,'' grabbed the screens, started to walk away, then turned around to say ''Do you or do you not wish me to consummate this job.'' If he hadn't given me the creeps before then, he certainly succeeded with that comment. Have heard that other women clients request that another professional is there when Sam works because he makes them uncomfortable.
