Mike, owner of MG Construction, advised us that he could just tear up the existing deck and build new one on top of old foundation. It took about a week for deck to be built. It looked lovely, but when i stepped on the deck, the boards sunk and made a crunching noise and felt quite loose. They also looked warped and uneven, as did the railings and stairs. When I told Mike something seemed to be wrong and I explained what was going on, he seemed perplexed. He sent one of his workers over the next day to put a board under the deck, i guess to support the sagging boards, but his worker never nailed the board into anything, he just put it under the deck, from the ground up to the deck, as a means of support. My husband mentioned to Mike 3 more times that there was still a problem and he finally came by with his worker and they said it was our fault because my husband should have nailed that board his worker placed underneath, to the deck. So Mike and his worker put a couple of more boards underneath the deck and aimlessly shot screws into the top of the deck. There are now hundreds of nails, some of which are different types of nails, all throughout the top of the deck, but not all the nails and screws hit the boards beneath the deck, therefore, the sagging and crunching still exists. Also, the stairs are still uneven and all the railings were cut wrong and are all uneven. I paid $4500.00 for materials and I paid MG Construction $1300.00 and I paid $350 for a dumpster. And i still have to hire a real carpenter to fix this mess and not all the materials can be reused because MG Construction damaged alot of it, especially when they shot all the screws into the Trex material.
Description of Work: Removed old wooden deck and rebuilt deck with new Trex materials, also put up new railings and built new stairs
