Metro Maids

After unsuccesfully trying to book with some of the other highly rated cleaning services here (some have waiting lists, and some were simply unresponsive), I took a chance on Metro Maids, since they didn't have many reviews here or on Yelp. Metro Maids was exceedingly easy to book - you can do everything online. I went online on Wed, Oct 23, and secured the first available time (the next day!). I quickly received a confirmation email stating the cleaners would arrive at 10 AM the next day. Two women arrived about 10 minutes early. They were both super friendly. One spoke fluent English, the other woman's English was more than OK, although she apologized for it not being that good. They brought everything they needed, including all cleaning supplies and reusable tools (nice change from other cleaners who go through 2 rolls of paper towel, which I find wasteful). I am a neat freak, and don't typically use housekeeping services because I have been disappointed so often in the past. However, my husband and I spent the entire summer wedding planning and once the wedding was over, we realized the house needed some serious work since we had neglected our normal weekly activities and monthly deep cleans since July. We still have a lot to do post-wedding (thank you notes, organizing our gifts) and seasonal transition stuff (switching out summer clothes and decor for the winter stuff), and just don't have enough time on the weekends to get it all done. We made the decision to hire a cleaning service, assuming we would still have to do some cleaning after, but at least it was a head start. Instead, Metro Maids made my day!! They took their time, did a thorough job, including baseboards, windowsills, nooks and crannies, etc. One thing that has bothered me in the past is how quickly other services "clean"... I know how long it takes to clean my apartment! Way more than 2 hours. Well, Metro Maids was still going strong after 2 hours - they had done the kitchen; hallway/foyer and bathrooms, but hadn't started on the bedrooms/den/living room. They said they needed about another 2 hours. I was ecstatic. They were truly commited to doing a thorough job thoughout, rather than putting in their time and moving on to the next job. They were also very considerate - checking in to make sure I wasn't on the phone when they got closer to the office with the vacuum, asking where it was OK to park, etc. I had to step out for work related things twice while they were in the apartment, and there were no problems. They were gone by the time I returned from the second errand, and I returned to a pristine, sparkling apartment. I will definitely be booking routine cleanings with them - having the heavy duty cleaning done by Metro Maids will allow more free time for us for our projects such as pantry organization, closet organization, seasonal cleaning of drapes, baseboards etc. I can't say enough about the job they did! Hopefully it wasn't just that I got lucky with the two women they sent me (I wish I could remember their names so I could specifically request them again), because I would really love to have a dependable cleaing service. I will update after our next cleaning.

Metro maids was great to interact with on the phone, the manager Scott was really responsive and easy to coordinate with. However, the morning the cleaning staff were to come to perform the 'deep move-in cleaning' was a different story all together. One of the two cleaning staff members walked out soon after arriving saying it was 'too much work.' The other staff person stayed behind to do the work but the job is meant for two and my mother was in town and had to start to help her out with the cleaning of the home. Scott showed up to try to assess the situation at hand and sent another person along a few hours later but ultimately the work that was promised was not done and we had to clean the house ourselves. Save your money and hire a professional cleaning service!

MetroMaids were good and I liked them and I had them back the second time as well. They were very pleasant, very nice and very convenient; you can schedule online. They say what they're going to do and they do it.
