They were very nice and professional and did great work! They blocked any ways that mice could enter the interior of our home and had it match the rest of the home. They also inserted metal sheets in the heating vents that blocks mice and also looks really nice. We haven't seen any mice or signs of mice since having the work done.

The owner came to our home and gave us an education on city mice and his strategy to get rid of them. He essentially shared that you can use all the poison and traps you want. You'll kill mice but you'll never kill every mouse in your vicinity. If there is a mouse in your neighborhood (which there is) and it can easily get in (which it can) they will come looking for food and warmth. Poison and traps will only delay the inevitable that another mouse will come to replace him/her later. His secret is to figure out where they come in and seal it off indefinitely. And that's exactly what he did. He pulled our refrigerator and kitchen cabinets away from the wall. Sure enough there was a Tom & Jerry like mouse hole that the previous owner had tried to seal with spray foam. Of course the mice eat right through it. He also pointed out the mouse trail left under our gas fireplace. The mice were essentially using the gas pipe as an elevator into our second story apartment. In fact any pipe (water, gas, sewer, etc.) serves as an elevator for mice. He even found a small crevice in our closets upstairs where they were getting in. PMM sealed every corner with steel sheets and cemented all our pipe crevices. We have never seen a single dropping since. We continue to be satisfied with the excellent work that Professional Master Miceproofing did nearly 5 years ago. Yes, you read right 5 years and not one mouse has entered our apartment. I have recommended them to numerous friends in the Boston area who know all too well how resilient city mice can be to traps, poison, etc. Thank you again!

After multiple failed attempts by traditional exterminators who use foam which mice will eat through, steel wool, poison and bogus mouse traps I called Noel of Professional Master Mice Proofing.
Noel found all kinds of ports of entry into our previous first floor apartment including a TOM and Jerry like mouse hole behind a refrigerator that exterminators would never have even looked.
He went over every square inch of the old unit. He pulled out every appliance, he checked every piece of cabinetry, every heating pipe...He used sheet metal to seal off ports of entry. The mice can not eat through this. He gave a guarantee of one year and there was never a mouse dropping or mouse seen again.
We moved and come September when the like to come in I saw a mouse running across my kitchen floor. Called my condo board who sent the Pest control to slapped some foam into the cabinetry that I saw the mouse escape into messing up my white cabinetry.
I called Noel. The job took 2 days.  He went over every inch. Found huge holes behind the stove top, made me a metal sweep for a big gap in the back door, caulked, checked fire places, put molding on radiator covers.  So far no droppings or mouse.  I told my board if they are going to spend money do it efficiently with Noel. It is a pleasure to work with Noel. He  professional, skillful, careful, honest and reliable.

We found mice in our house.  I was freaking out.  I called Noel and he came out to check it out.  His prices are very high but his service is different from extermination...he mice-proofs the house so that the mice don't get back into your living area.  It's difficult to keep mice from the walls of the house, but what he does is plugs up all the holes that mice would use to get into your house.  If they mice can't get into the living area, they tend to leave.  He does it nicely too with metal plates so that it makes it look like you meant to do that to your house.  I also notice less spiders and winter draft.  After Noel was done, I felt very comfortable that mice wouldn't come into the house anymore.  He showed up early in the morning and worked through the day only taking a short break for lunch.  He didn't need me for anything.  He finished up the second day and cleaned everything up...even all the droppings.  I would recommend Noel's service to anyone.

From the very beginning, we were impressed with Ed and his brother's thoroughness and professionalism. They carefully examined every room in the house for potential mouse access, gave us two estimates, with different warranties, and were able to get the job scheduled much sooner than we'd expected.  The work is impeccable. It has only been just over a week since the work was completed and we have seen no more mice/mouse activity. Their system is much better, and more permanent, than the poisons that ordinary pest control companies use. It is a family business and they take pride in their work. We are very, very happy to have found them via Angie's list!

I'm sure Noel (the owner) knows much about mouse proofing. Unfortunately, his workmen seemed to know very little about the trade or about professionalism. They missed a large hole in the pantry baseboard despite applying sheet metal in the same general area. They placed fabricated flanges around the kitchen radiator pipes even though they weren't necessary. As a result, I had to remove them and scrape the adhesive off my floor. They  placed a metal plate behind a baseboard radiator in the basement. The radiator separated from the wall because it had been screwed into drywall rather than studs. I also removed an unsightly metal plate they used to close an indentation in a brick wall that didn't need to be closed.  During the 2 hours I was out, they also placed off-colored caulking in my foyer, not to address a rodent issue but as 'insulation' leaving me to scrape up the caulk that splashed outside their intended borders. I detailed these and other grievances in an e-mail to the owner, but these issues were never addressed.  An excerpt from the e-mail follows:
"I didn't contact you immediately after your last visit, but I have called and left several messages since then to schedule your team to return to do the things you and I discussed. As you recall these include (1) fixing the door to the laundry room in the basement that no longer opens and closes properly because of faulty work your men did; (2) switching the metal plate from the side of the door that faces the finished basement to the side that faces the unfinished section; (3) removing the over-sized flanges with smeared adhesive and replacing them with fabricated metal donuts that fit properly; (4) removing the flanges in the boys' room radiator and using sealant alone which should fill the space but not extend beyond it. Before I left I caught one of your men pounding a block of wood in the doorway that leads  from the first floor to the basement. I promptly explained to him that doing this would not help with mouse proofing and would likely result in someone tripping down the stairs. He removed the block of wood but not without chipping the paint in my doorway.  When you left my home you said it was important to you that your customers be satisfied. I agree a good reputation is critical for a business like yours to continue to thrive. Therefore, I encourage you to call me back in the next 1-2 days to schedule a time for your team to return to address the issues you and I discussed."

Before we settled on Noel and Master Miceproofers (who was recommended by another landlord), we had other exterminators come by and give quotes and suggestions. For $600 each year, they would put down poisoned traps in each floor and drop in each time we saw more mice. They would seal the basement as best they could. That didn't seem exceptionally different than what we'd done already and the traps we were already putting down and the mice were ignoring. Noel offers something completely different - he painstakingly goes through the outer wall of each apartment and seals it with metal, caulk, and other materials so that the mice are unable to make it into the apartments. He takes off cabinets, pulls out stoves and dishwashers, and seals behind them as well - where it looks like mice had been coming in. He doesn't seal the basement, as he indicates that it's not likely to be successful without a mason and a good deal of money. He went through our triple decker apartments, one at a time, and meticulously sealed each one, putting in ~10 hour days for each. We were impressed at his thoroughness and professionalism (as well as punctuality for work done). As I think any good review points out where things could be improved, I mention two here. There was one hall where the caulk line could be cleaner and one trim area where the metal was showing and will need to be painted or covered (there was a large floor gap that he had to seal in a door trim piece - otherwise for the most part he did a great job in hiding his seals/patches/caulking). I do not believe either of those were significant negatives, given the effectiveness of his work - we have seen zero mice in the three floors so far (where it was a daily occurance). I will update this review if I have further issues (though I do not expect that I will need to). While the price wasn't cheap, we felt he more than earned his fees for the work that he did (especially if it finally solves the mouse issue). In short, we would heartily recommend him to others as fellow landlords or to friends.

They were great. They were outstanding. They are a great service. The price wasn't exorbitant. They were thorough, professional and timely. I haven't seen any problems since they came. The price was fine.

We had a terrible problem with mice. I put out traps but the mice ignored them. After about a week of trying (and the problem getting worse) I called Master Mouseproofing. They came the same day to do an inspection and gave an estimate ($1200 for a 2-family house). It sounded a bit pricey, but I didn't have time to shop around. In the end what they did worked. We haven't seen a single (live) mouse since they did their work. And they guarantee to come back and do more if we see more mice within one year. They came on time, and were professional and courteous. Although the service was expensive, I don't have much to compare it to so I can't say it was not fair. My only slight quibble is that the earliest they could schedule the work was 5 days after I accepted the estimate, so we had to live with the mice for a few more days. I would hire them again (though I hope I don't have the need).

I was in search of a more permanent solution to my mice infestation problem. I have a young child in the house and was not comfortable with the traditional methods of putting down poison and traps. Mice have been an issue with us every winter for the past five years, and I knew it would continue to be one year after year, so I wanted to fix this the right way once and for all and was willing to pay whatever cost for that type of service.

Upon doing some internet research, I happened upon Master Mice Proofing. It was exactly what I was in search for. I read through their website and immediately called for a quote. Noel, the owner, called me back within 2 days and he was adamant that he come out for a look-around. Other traditional pest control companies were trying to provide a quote over the phone without seeing my space or the extent of the problem. That alone did not sit well with me.After a visit, checking perimeters of rooms, looking in closets, in cabinets, he agreed that the problem was significant. He wrote up a quote for $650. Their plan was to install pieces of sheet metal to cover all holes, and to my surprise, they offered to install crown molding around the floor where there was a 1/4 inch gap between the wall and floor. Inititally it felt pricey, but I figured if I had traditional pest folks out here year after year at $150 a pop, I'd get over that price in a few years. It was just nice to get it over and done with, honestly.

They were able to schedule the work 2 weeks later since they were already booked up. They prefer someone to be home while they are working since they plan to be there for 4-6 hours, but I was unable to be around. A neighbor let them in in the morning. When I came home, they had moved alot of items to get to spaces that I did not think they were going to work on (my fault for not moving them ahead of time). It has been about 1 month now and no sign of mice or dropping. Feeling free in my own house again.

My only issue with this company is that the work guarentee on their website did not match the guarentee on the work form. Make sure you discuss this and understand it thoroughly. Noel said they needed to update their website.

I am a very good landlord and have owned my house for many years. The house and apartments are clean and have beautiful floors, carpets, bathrooms, kitchens, etc. Since the house is in the city, it's no surprise that once in a while a mouse or two can get into an older home usually through the foundation. The hole only has to be 1/4 inch big for a mouse to get in and mice can get in as a result of them being in a house near yours since they are looking for warmth, food, and water. Once they get in, they travel through the walls and into the apartments through these tiny holes and the plumbing looking for food. Once they find the food, they will go back to the area even if the food source is removed. I have worked with a professional exterminator for many years to do professional bait traps throughout the house as preventative maintenance. Every landlord should be doing this to give their tenants as "rodent free" as possible apartments. In the last couple of years, I have not been able to get rid of a few mice in the house. I have done everything possible from the professional bait traps both in and outside of the house, sprinkling peppermint from the gardening stores in the closets, under the sinks, in the cellar, using the sonar type plug-ins, etc. This last spring of 2011, there were 2 mice who moved from one apartment to the other and no matter what I did, I couldn't get rid of them. I did extensive research trying everything possible. My tenants were sick of it and so was I. I had no where to turn until I stumbled upon this wonderful company. I called and spoke to Noel the owner who was so understanding and promised that he could help me. I met with him, explained everything, and he explained in great detail what he would do and how much it would cost. I hired him and they worked 2 long days while I was at the house with them. Noel gave me recommendations along the way like keeping certain doors closed all the time after they applied a metal strip on the bottom, having wooden baseboard put tight to the floor and the carpets in all of the apartments, etc. I got an 8 month guarantee and 4 free prevention visits. There hasn't been one mouse in my 4 family since I hired Noel and put in the wooden baseboard. I still have professional bait boxes put in the cellar and around the perimeter of the outside of the house. I can finally sleep at night thanks to Noel and his company. All I can say is hire this company if you're having a problem. It's worth every penny. Saying thank you doesn't even describe my gratitude to Noel for the job he and his team did!!
