Mark Sexton Construction

Mark's woodworking work was excellent and he was prompt in doing that basic part of the job. The problems occurred with other subcontractors that he used and poorly managed and for components of the job where he had limited expertise and was not forthcoming about that limited expertise. Unfortunately, he paid his tile sub for 100% of the tile part of the job out of the partial deposit I gave him for the full contract. The tile sub did half of the work and then left town. Mark wasn't a tile expert, but he decided to do the work himself. He procrastinated since he did not want to do the work, resulting in me being without a bathroom for an extended period of time, and then did a mediocre job on the tiling once he finally got around to it. I had also asked him about installing a new, larger window in my attic and he started to do the work by tearing out drywall to see how the framing laid out. After ripping off a large amount of drywall, he confessed that he was afraid of heights and didn't want to do the job, so I was left with having to repair the drywall myself so that the wall could be sealed up until I could find another contractor for this part of the job.
