Furtado & sons roofing

Dishonest. Situation remains unresolved. Lesson: If it seems too good to be true...

brian furtado came to my house for an estimate to repair ponding water on my flat roof. he presented a written estimate of 1500. dollars.  we accepted the estimate and he came back a couple of weeks later to do the work.  brian dropped off 2 workers to do repairs ( not experienced ? ),  and he came back  later to assist.  they did not have enough time to finish the job and brian said he would return to finish.   a few days later , after it rained ,brian returned to finish the work.   he went up on the roof and decided he did not have enough materials and he under estimated the amount of time it would take to finish, so he told my wife  he would come back on sunday,  ( this was a friday ).  when i came home that day i went up on the roof and saw the partial repair he did  made the ponding water worse. the glue he used had all come undone and water was trapped under the repair where there were over 40 screws improperly installed where water could enter the roof . the fiber board  he installed under the repair was soaked ( as it turns out fibre board was not the proper type to use ) . i called brian right away and he said he was not happy how the repair turned out and he would return sunday and redo it.   he asked me for half the money because he needed to get more materials, i told him  we were uncomfortable giving him any money since the work had to be redone and especially since on the day he gave the estimate he told my wife to never pay a contractor untill alll the work was done. sunday came and brian did not. i called and left messages and on wednesday his wife called and said brian  was busy and he would call me . he never did. come saturday morning with the northeaster coming i had another roofer come to check the roof . the partial  repair had to be removed and i paid 400. dollars ( to new roofer ) to have over 40 screw holes patched  and because brian used the wrong kind of seam tape had to have some seams redone. so i now have a roof with over 40 patches and 1 am out 1200. dollars ( 50 to have bad repair materials to be removed  ). brians wife called me saturday nite and told me brian would come back in a few days. i said no way and wanted my money returned by monday. never  heard back. brian furtado roofing claims to be flat roof specialists. they did such an inadequate job it was ridiculous. brian just tells you what he thinks you want to hear.   in my opinion brian furtado does not know how to repair flat roofs and he realized this  on this job and he  just tried  to get some money  because he knew he could not do the job properly.  p.s i have photos.
