I did a lot of research, and this seemed like the perfect company. I hired them for an interstate move with full service packing, and all seemed fine until I began unpacking my belongings. Many things were broken or poorly packed. There was a hole in my couch and a gash in my china cabinet. Bins purchased for the move were damaged. Breakable items were not wrapped and tossed into boxes. I contacted them explaining I was not happy with what I was finding. I received a response from the owner that was truly insulting. He attempted to gaslight me stating things were already broken or that I had packed things his crew had. He offered a small refund, but it wasn't even enough to cover damages. Additionally, there was sentimental value to damaged items that I cannot place a price on. I don't know if his crew lies to him or if he just doesn't care, but I would highly recommend using another company.

I have to say i never moved before....I have lived in my home for 60 years. This company was excellent..I had three men and they were fantastic and hard working. Alex, Caki, and Igor thanks for making this move easy for me. You all did a great job and I will be calling soon to use you again.

First time using movers. Was a box anxious because of all of the horror stories I have heard. These guys were FANTASTIC. The team was early and got right to work. I had to beg them to take a lunch break. They wanted to move move move! Very careful with my property and wrapped up the furniture like pros. Cost was less than I expected by several hundred. Can’t say enough good things. Discount for weekday move and additional discount for cash payment.

I had a great experience with Exela - the team I had was very efficient wrapping up furniture and moving it out (and ultimately in) along with all the boxes, etc. The staff was both friendly and professional, and the value was excellent (even without several weeks' advance notice). I hope to be staying in the location to which I've moved, but I highly recommend Exela Movers to anyone looking for movers.

They are independent. They have their own trucks and rented trucks. They have a set price by truck, not item. The only issue is that I labeled the boxes but they didn't put the boxes in the room I labeled them as.

Very well, except too costly: despite no need for a truck, I was charged as if using one.Also I was charged for 3/4 hour commute although Excela's home base was a scant 3 miles from my house. Another high cost: there was a charge of several dollars for each packing box. (Some of this expense could be saved by buying a LOT of boxes beforehand at UHaul. They will give you money back on returned boxes.) On the other hand,m they were able to come 3 days after I called them. Their 3 movers were both very strong and way overqualified(engineer from USSR country, etc.)

They did a great job, were courteous and professional and damaged nothing [i.e. that I am aware of ;-) ]. The fees rack-up during the move. started at ~$300 and I ended up paying ~$600 when all was said and done. Especially since you have to pay their travel time, which I didn't realize at the time. So, the prepaid three hours was actually one hour of travel and two hours of work... just know that going into this.

We had a short move from Cambridge, MA to Arlington, MA on 7/29/16, but we had a fair amount of stuff in our 2 bedroom. The 3-man team of andrew (leader), william and ryan showed up on schedule at 8AM. They worked carefully, thoroughly and professionally to pack and unpack. They packed some of the items that we had left for them, including delicate glassware and paintings. The 2 beds were disassembled and re-assembled carefully. They used floor protection mats in our brand new Arlington house, and and moved the heavy Tempur Pedic king-size mattress up two flights of stairs to the master bedroom. Not a scratch, and very polite and patient.

I've used Exela Movers twice and have had excellent service both times. The movers are friendly, efficient, and professional. They covered the floors at the new place and they were very careful with the walls. Everything was professionally packed in boxes and all the furniture was wrapped in moving blankets. They came very close to the estimate provided and as a note: they have very affordable rates.
I would not hesitate to hire them again, and have recommended them to friends and family.

The move went very well. The price was more than expected. After speaking with the company I realized that they do charge for travel to and from the business. That was something I did not understand. They took the time to call me and discuss my my feelings about the move and assured me they wanted to be sure that they are transparent with customers and that each customer is satisfied with their service. The movers were very good and very professional and the company follow up was very impressive.

3 Movers showed up promptly. They were extremely professional, friendly, and fast which was important as there was a time limit for the move. The movers were quite careful with our furniture and other heavy equipment that required moving. My only complaint was that we were charged an extra hour, based on the time the truck left the warehouse (not our first house). this was not made clear to us. Nevertheless I plan on calling Excela movers again when we complete our move shortly and ask for the same crew. Overall, these guys were really great, perhaps the best experience I've ever had with movers.

Exela movers were on time and very professional. I happened to have my four children with me and all of the movers were very friendly and nice to them and worked around them. Nothing was broken and the actual job took approximately three hours. Please note that you will need to pay a $50 deposit to reserve your move-in date separately from any Angie's list deal you may receive and also note that their time begins from the time they leave their warehouse. So I did pay over the "deal" amount here of $299 and ended up paying a bit over $500, but if you ask most anyone in the moving industry, they would tell you that $500 is a very fair rate for a move, other places were quoting me $1,000 or more.
In summary, I thought Exela did an excellent job and I would definitely recommend them.

The experience with Exela could not have gone better. The Team arrived on time and had my entire house empty in under 90 minutes (filling approx 75% of a 30 foot moving truck). Couches and other furniture were carefully wrapped, boxes were reinforced with tape and large objects were disassembled prior to loading.
On the other side, the Team had the the truck unloaded and all the furniture in it's right place in one hour's time.
The care that was taken with my belongings was first class. I did not see a single item bumped against a wall or a door frame. Not a single object broke during the moving (glasses, plates, etc...).
The cost was very fair even though we were moving about an hour away from the Exela Warehouse.
A+ all round, I would highly recommend to anyone.

My husband and I have worked with Exela Movers a handful of times, and
we LOVE them. The owner is a pleasure to work with - a down to earth guy
who really strives for top notch customer service. Exela is responsive
and reliable and always gets the job done timely. We have had bad
experiences with movers who damage your belongings or increase cost
after quoting a specific amount. This was not an issue with Exela. We
used them for moving furniture locally - including sentimental and very
heavy furniture like a very heavy piano that has been in my family for
years. That move was seamless and was a great experience. We also
needed help while we were having construction on our house. We needed to
move furniture from our house into a storage pod on our property and
then back into the house post construction. Exela's rates to help with
that were far more reasonable than other quotes I got and so we went
with them again and again we were so impressed by their reliability,
respect for our things and our time, and their commitment to good
customer service. We were so happy with them that we recommended them
to my parents who were moving to NY. They did a beautiful job with that
move as well and were very helpful to alleviate some of the stress for
my parents. Overall, I would highly recommend Exela Movers and would
not hesitate to use them again myself for big or small moves.
