I needed a chiminey cap to stop smoke from coming back down into the house with the wind and got a turbine cap that has solved our problem. Before we could not have a fire when our power went out due to the smoke and now we will be able to stay warm in the storms smoke free. Their fix lasted until the first storm, the cap blew off, It was supposed to be guaranteed, but when i called them several times, I found out they were out of business. I will only go local from now on.

This company failed to repair my chimney and then refused to give me a refund. They do not answer or return phone calls.

They where on time , professional , price was good and communicated very well.

Jim Lewis was very professional and informative as to what was being done. Showed up as scheduled and worked without delays. Price was competitive and workmanship good.

Do not hire this company! They completely up sell. After talking to a colleague who also hired them and swapping horror stories about this company, we found that they basically use chimney cleaning as a pretext to get into your home and scare you into doing extremely expensive repairs on you chimney. They pray on your ignorance and fear. In my case I contracted them to do the very expensive repairs they proposed and then they disappeared with all of my money and I was then forced to chase them down to get them to complete the project which they did not want to do. Each time I got them to come back they came out the technician was only told to finish the minimum he could get away with and they always left saying I wasn't told I had to do this or that, and/or I have to call the office and/or I don't have that tool. On one occasion the technician asked to see the contract as if he didn't believe me that what I was asking for him to do was included in the job. The only things that saved me was (1) I financed the job and got the company that I financed with involved and told them I was charged for a job they didn't perform and I wasn't going to pay and I wanted to report fraud which sent them back to the company to insist on resolution and (2) I arranged for and insisted on a HVAC inspection from the building department (which is required and they failed to do!) and the inspector came out and told me what they didn't finish (which was 1/3 or the cost of the total job, about $3500). I am embarrassed to say I trusted them and Homeadvisor and assumed they were reputable because they are on Homeadvisor. Don't make the same mistake ... don't hire this company and be wary. This site does not screen, its only an advertisement for company. The diligence is all on you. Also, if you do go with the company after reading this, for goodness sake get everything in writing, don't pay anything in cash upfront, and don't pay the full amount until you are sure the job is done.

To me, no home is complete without a wood-burning fireplace. Yes, I know, the traditional wood burning fireplaces are not efficient and definitely more labor intensive as they need cleaning and annual inspections. However, there is nothing like a wood burning fireplace for the sheer ambience. The dancing of the flames, the smell of wood, the crackling sounds…soul-soothing. Alas, to my dismay, the fireplace in my home had a gas-insert put in by the previous owner. Though it was of quality, for me, it just wasn’t the same. So, I embarked on a journey to return my hearth to its original wood-burning configuration. I called every fireplace company I could find that would service my area and Elite Fireplace was the ONLY company that was willing to do the work. Every other company either tried to have me completely remove my original fireplace and replace it with masonry or didn’t think just returning the fireplace to its original condition was financially worth their time and effort. When I spoke with Gary at Elite Fireplace he dispatched his team to do a thorough inspection and, to my great pleasure, was willing to do the research necessary to return my fireplace back to its original condition thus saving me thousands of dollars in the process. Now, this was not a fast job. It took quite some time and research by Gary to order all the materials still available by the original manufacturer, custom-make those items that were no longer available, and then complete the install. Remember, you want your fireplace to work and be safe to operate. Well, thanks to Elite Fireplace, I now have a beautiful, functioning, and safe, wood burning fireplace. I cannot recommend them highly enough and will be using them for my annual inspections for as long as I live in this home.

They were ok. Seemed a little pricey for the work performed but they responded right away and did the work but had to come back to fix an issue - which they did in a timely fashion so I would give them a moderate recommendation.

This company told me after they inspected our roof that the cap had been damaged, most likely from the person who originally installed it. However, they did not know at the time, that we had just purchased the house, and the inspection made no mention of this. Then they wanted me to agree to all their repairs within 48 hours. They said they would replace the cap at no charge if we agreed. We had a local chimney repair company come by to give us a second opinion. Although they can't prove it, they believe the cap was damaged recently so I am left wondering whether EHS damaged the cap? To add fuel to the fire, I have called EHS several times requesting that a manager return my call. To date, no one has returned my call.

Paid in cash upfront, ordered wrong material did not come back when they said they would with new material, been 2 full weeks no communication from scheduling , customer service lady upset that the crews are saying that it is not their job to finish another crews work. Foreman dropped racial slur and I don't want them on my property again to fish the work.

They came promptly and they did what they said would do! Very satisfied - their price was great!

the people that came out to do the work were very nice.

They are a joke !!....wanted my chimney cleaned....they spent about 10 minutes to vacuum it out...DON'T WASTE YOUR $$$$$$

The lead tech was great. He supervised the additional two workers and they cleaned both my wood fireplace chimney and my oil burner flue. I sleep better now knowing they are safe. However, they did tell me I needed a new chimney liner that would cost about $3200 and I was shocked. I will continue to get estimates for this to be done, as I just can?t afford that kind of outlay now.

The service was great, and they provided suggestions on ways to improve other systems as well.

i had a grievance about work that was performed. I contacted them relative to the problem twice. Each time I was told they would have a manager get back to me. that never happened. I will never deal with them or home advisor again.

They are fine if you want to do some serious work. They came back from the inspection with some through the roof numbers. But if you just want a sweep go a different direction.

Overpriced for other work quoted. Chimney rebuild.
