Deprisco Diamond Jewelers Inc

Description of Work: My husband and I have used Deprisco for years. In fact they designed and MADE my wedding band. It has, from the very beginning (12 years ago) had problems and EVERY year I have gone in to have it "fixed" all with varying explanations as to what it wrong. It's been the same stone (the second from the end of 7 diamonds) (I know it's the same side because the ring is engraved on the inside and easy to tell which side is which.) Last year I made my yearly pilgrimage in because the stone was moving again. They took the ring for a week and told me again "all fixed." I paid and have paid a small fee over the years for most of these repairs. About a month after I got it back someone asked me what was wrong with the second stone. I don't inspect the ring regularly and when it got dirty from regular use I realized the stone looked odd. My husband brought the ring back and was told that "it looks good to me" by the sales staff and the owner, Donna. They then agreed to clean it with some specialized cleaner. My husband picked it up and was again told that it "looked good to me." It was clearly still an odd looking stone which they refused to acknowledge. I brought the ring to three other jewlwers/apprasers...the stone had been changed and was NOT the same quality as the other stones. NO OTHER jeweler had ever touched that ring. I ALWAYS brought it back Deprisco. They tried to convince my husband that it was all fine. I have the original Deprisco appraisal stating the stones color & clarity were G & VS respectively. The THREE independent appraisals I received after that were that the second stone was b/w SI2 & I1. My family used Deprisco for years, my husband and I spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years & this is how they treat loyal and consistent customers. It was nothing short of FRAUD! Or. total incompetence? And, for what....it was a small stone and of no real fiscal consequence to them--it cost me a few hundred dollars to replace it. I dare them to address this with me because I have so much documentation, prepared by them, proving my account of this latest interaction with them that it would make me very happy to reveal to the Boston community just how untrustworthy they really are.
