Pedro and his team were excellent. They were professional and timely, hard-working and meticulous, and trustworthy. Best of all (at least for me), is that Pedro is VERY responsive and his team is assigned to get your job done and done correctly. They show up on time every day, and were willing to work late into the evening to hit the project milestones. Pedro was 100% clear about the costs, and he made sure I fully understood the areas where the costs were not known or where the costs could possibly change. For example, he said, "If you open up this wall, I'm not sure what we are going to find." I told him to proceed and his team opened up that wall and found that the previous contractor had installed literally zero insulation. Pedro met with me, reviewed what his team had found, went over all of our options, gave me his recommendation, and only proceeded when I completely approved the additional work that would be done and the additional cost entailed. Pedro is a true partner and his team does great work. I cannot recommend them enough. My wife and I have already booked them for another job renovating a first floor porch and creating a roof over the open-air second floor porch.

After our home flooded, Pedro and his team completed a full renovation of our condo. The final result was beautiful. We were very impressed with his electrician and hardwood flooring subcontractor. The scope of our project grew from completing necessary repairs to undertaking a full renovation, which Pedro handled well. We appreciated his advice along the way as we were new to this--he has a good eye for design and steered us in the direction we were looking for. Pedro was really great to work with from start to finish. We were in the process of buying a new home that had 2 improperly installed bathroom fans causing moisture buildup in the attic. Pedro Quissanga was wonderful throughout the process. The project started out as a porch window replacement with an architect drawing plans, but once we started construction, we discovered that the whole underneath part was rotting and needed reconstruction. Pedro and his crew were hard working, reliable and careful, and his price for all of the work was very reasonable. When something went awry late in the construction, Pedro took it seriously and got people over within hours to locate the issue and fix the problem. Even though the project ended up being much more difficult than initially expected, there were never any unexpected charges and the additional work was at a consistent high level. We recommend Crystal Renovations without reservation and have several neighbors using them now for small-to-medium sized projects.

Pedro renovated about 80% of our 1890s 5-bedroom Victorian home. The work was uniformly excellent and completed on schedule, despite the interruptions caused by the early phases of the pandemic. Pedro is an absolute pleasure to work with, and he maintained excellent relationships with us, the architect, and his subcontractors. His estimate was reasonable as were the change orders. We were lucky to find him!

We acquired a condominium on the 2nd floor of a 2 family house in Arlington. MA. The existing hardwood floors were beyond repair and we wanted to add a 2nd bathroom. In addition we wanted to integrate the existing sun porch into the living room to more than recover the area lost to the new bathroom, and install central A/C. We had estimates from three other contractors before we met with Pedro from Crystal Renovations. His pricing was very competitive relative to the other contractors, but that was mostly due to the others trying to add work that we didn't want or need. Pedro listened to what we wanted and worked with us to accomplish it. From the very beginning of the project until the end Pedro was always responsive and answered, emails, texts, and phone messages in a very timely fashion. He and his crew and subs were a pleasure to work with and any issues that arose were dealt with in a calm and professional manner. Before and during the project Pedro made several design suggestions such as recessed lighting on the sun porch, shower stall light, and new bath layout that definitely improved on our original thoughts. In the end the project came in on time and with a very small increase to the original estimate despite some challenges he and his crew had to work through. The best part, though, is the absolute impeccable quality of the finished product. We highly recommend Pedro and Crystal Renovations and plan to use them again in the near future.

Pedro was very easy to work with. Background: We had a french drain and drainage installed due to flooding. Prior to that work, the basement was already finished, but this work required us to need a new floor and baseboards. We had tile down and wanted to put an laminate down. After talking with Pedro prior to any work being done (during the consult), it was decided to see if it was better to level the floor to the remaining tile or jack hammering all the remaining tile up. We had an idea of the product we wanted, and he was able to recommend a different version of the product that was better that we were not aware existed. Our basement baseboards were tricky. We were told to use PVC wood, but Pedro recommended against it since it was an enclosed space that we would be using and that is known to release toxins. Once work started: Pedro and the men were such hard workers. The time they arrived in the morning could vary depending on if they went to Home Depot first. The time they left depended on how much they wanted to complete before they left. Every night they cleaned up (and this was a space we weren't using at all.) Each day I got an update on the status. While laying the floor, Pedro had to work around drains in the floor. With the french drain, we had this plastic wall trim to have water drain into from the wall. It was very ugly and couldn't be kept as is since part of the tile behind it was destroyed. Pedro worked with me to create a nice looking baseboard with a gap to allow for the water to drain into the french drain. We also decided last minute to make a small cellar room (with stone foundation walls) into a real room with insulation and walls! They were able to get that done as well and it looks amazing. (I didn't rate price, because I didn't comparison shop. I had originally contacted Pedro and got a quote. Then ended up contacting him to find out when he could do it and was told the following week. I wanted the basement job finished before I went back to work so didn't bother to comparison shop.)

Crystal gutted a 550 sqft full floor of a brownstone and installed a new master bath, closets, and roof deck access. Complete paint, floor restoration, lighting, etc as well. Pedro is highly responsive and cares very much that the project meets the client's expectations. His team is professional and courteous. They showed up regularly and were highly responsive to any request. Perhaps most importantly for doing work on old buildings in the city, Pedro knows that the unexpected can come up and works with the client to address the issue. In our case, removing the ceiling revealed highly stressed joists from a roof house, roof deck, and poorly constructed stairwell framing. Pedro worked with the inspector to find the right solution and installed LVLs and new brickwork to fix the issue. His cost for additional work was very fair, and I've had situations before where a contractor would use that situation as leverage for a hefty premium on the work. Pedro and his team can tackle a wide range of projects. You might want to engage sub-contractor specialists for very precise work. Pedro and his team are a great resource for renovations big and small.

It went really well, and we are very happy with the finished work. We had a few surprises that we had to incorporate into the work, but Pedro made it clear that he wanted us to be happy with the end results, and we certainly are. He was really responsive while the work was going on.

The work went really well. Once Pedro’s team got started they worked really quickly on the project, and were even able to accommodate additional work that we added on as we went (once the popcorn ceilings were removed we decided to have the ceilings and walls painted, and a new light fixture added to the dining room). Everything was finished quickly and looks great!

Pedro and his team did a great job overall. His team was professional got the job done. My only complaint was that the communication could have been better. We did not complete the project in the estimated time (took a couple extra days) but Pedro was very apologetic and offered a complimentary followup on reapplying the sealant. Overall I would use him again and ask for more updates next time to ensure things stay on track.

Pedro and his guys were great- very professional, trustworthy, affordable, and a pleasure to work with. This was a large remodel and the end product turned out perfect. They were very accessible by phone, text, and email. For a large remodel, the area and the rest of the condo remained clean. They cleaned up each day, kept dust to a minimum, and protected areas not involved in the project. The project was finished in the timetable quoted. I highly recommend Crystal Renovation and have already recommended them to friends of mine.

We ran into several delays that were not the fault of Pedro's team and Pedro was very flexible as well as understanding. The house we bought had an existing, partially finished, unpermitted basement. We hired Crystal Renovations to re-do the space so it would be functional, more in line with our taste & permitted. They made the laundry room an actual room as opposed to a basement area with a washer & dryer, took down the drop ceiling & replaced it with a real ceiling, took out the 1984 glass block surround to the shower & replaced with drywall, repaired stairs going down to the area & laid new floor throughout. Pedro & his crew were incredibly efficient - the whole process took around 10 days. We were fortunate & they didn’t run into any unforeseen issues once all the demo was done, so the final cost was in line with what had been quoted & the modifications we agreed to. They transformed an ugly, afterthought of a basement into an entire new living space to our house that is functional & looks fantastic. We would definitely hire them again & highly recommend.

Pedro is very communicative via text messaging which works really well for me since I can easily send him any questions and get a response immediately. Him and his crews were very punctual and professional throughout the entire project.
