Jim and his team renovated an old building in the South End. We bought one of the nine units from him this spring. We love our unit and they did a great job with it for the most part. However, we (and many of the other owners in our building) have been very frustrated with the corners Jim has taken for repairs and the turn around time for getting things done. Most recently, we discovered a leak in our walls (a result of Jim's team during building) and our wood floors had to be replaced and refinished. After explicitly asking Jim to make sure to talk with the floor people he hired to make sure that they covered and blocked off our apartment to protect it from dust as well as make sure they put the correct finish down, neither of these things were taken care of. Our apartment is in disarray now and filthy. Not to mention we have to go through it all over again because the wrong finish was put down. Jim hired the same sub-contractor that had put the wrong finish on our floors just before we bought our unit. We shouldn't have let him handle this and should have hired our own floor people but we made the mistake of trusting him. If you buy one of his homes just know that he does not live up to many of his promises and is very frustrating to work with.
