Vivo and his team are amazing! They want nothing but a perfect moving experience for your family and belongings. We had the Perez team for our move. He and his team were respectful, hardworking, and committed to providing my family with the best moving experience. Every request I made was either granted or explained in detail why it could not happen as I wanted.
Vivo is the owner and he is hands on with his company. He came to our old house and walked me through what could be moved and what might be better handled by me. He wants his customers to be happy and completely satisfied with their moving experience. I did wait longer than expected to hear back from Vivo after the meeting at my house, but any concerns I had were quickly eliminated by the service and work I received.
I requested the Perez team to complete the last part of my move and Vivo made sure that the Perez team was assigned. I only noticed a few areas that could have been improved: 4 appropriatley marked boxes were not placed in the correct rooms and; (just noticed two weeks after the move!) that the plywood that we had between our matress and box spring is missing. It did not even cross my mind to look for the plywood.
Even with these minor oversights, I would hire and recommend Carvel Movers to any of my friends and family. I can't say enough about the quality and service.
Carmel Movers will be the only company I will call if we need moving services again!
I had interviewed and gotten estimates from 2 other movers but I chose Carmel because it had the lowest price and was highly recommended by 2 RE agents. The office personnel was friendly and helpful and set up an appointment for the owner (Vivo) to come and estimate the cost. He came on time and after looking at what I wanted moved, recorded the items. I received a written estimate: a fixed price plus the hourly cost of the packers and for the materials they used for packing the breakables.
After I decided to use Carmel Movers, the coordinator (Ivan) helped to schedule the packing and move-in dates. He arranged for delivery of boxes, wrapping paper and tape for me to pack books and other items that do not break.
On the chosen day, 3 young men came and packed the breakables and most of the large oil paintings under the leadership of Edgar. Edgar and his team were very efficient, friendly, courtious, and were finished in about 2 hours.
The next day, they arrived on time, packed the largest painting in a larger container and loaded their truck. They went for lunch and met me about 1 hour later at the complex. One issue that could have been a problem was that my apartment was on the wing furthest from the freight elevator. But they took it in stride and did not complain.
First they loaded the furniture, arranged according to the plan I drew up, adjusted every thing to my satisfaction. THEN CAME THE BOXES! Wow, I had not realized how much stuff I had and had not reduced it beforehand. The boxes filled up 2/3 of my living room.
These guys were great they made every effort to make my space livable. It took them till almost 6 PM. PS nothing broke
In the meantime, with the help of a well timed yard sale at the complex I have managed to stow all the excess stuff and the apartment looks very good.
Ivan arranged for the empty boxes to be collected (for charity). Further contact with the office to correct a math error went smoothly.
Several weeks before moving out of our old house, a crew stopped by to drop off the packing materials. We opted to pack ourselves, although having Carmel pack for us was an option.
Our move occurred on 2 separate days. We moved out of our old house on one day, our stuff went into storage for 3 weeks, and then we moved into our new house.
The day of the move out, the crew arrived promptly around 7:30am as scheduled. They worked non-stop all day and did a fantastic job protecting all of our stuff.
The day of the move in, the crew again arrived as scheduled and very efficiently unloaded everything into the proper rooms and re-assembled the furniture. Not a single item was scratched or broken.
A few weeks after the move, I contacted Carmel to see if they wanted the empty boxes back, and a truck came by 2 days later and picked them all up.
I was very pleased with everyone I interacted with, from Vivo, to the office staff (especially Ivan), to the crews who did the moving. Everyone was very responsive.
The price for the move out was $1500 and for the move in was $1250. There was no separate charge for the 3 weeks of storage (1st month of storage was free).
Their price was very competitive and actually was better than the other quotes I got, without the uncertainty of hourly rates, extra charges for boxes, or extra charges for storage. I would highly recommend them.
