Capital Construction Contracting - North

Two stars because the work was eventually finished, but they left work partially completed with a dormer exposed to rain for several weeks. They also sent a finished work certification before the work was done to ask me to certify that it was complete. The owner discounted the work slightly, but it was a bad experience that delayed the house renovation and I do not recommend this contractor to others

This was a great experience The salesman Steve had a great presentation and all the Hardie samples on really cool fold out displays The project started sooner than expected which was great. Communication from Ana and Cynthia in production was constant and the team finished a head of schedule. We are already planning our roof with them before winter, we hope Jamie is out project manager again.

Capital Construction installed what appeared to be a great rubber roofing, that came with a 10-year warranty, for our home in Cambridge. Unfortunately, most likely unbeknownst to them, the rubber material is a happy home for raccoons and other critters. After only 1 year of having it done, spending over $25k for only a portion of the roof, raccoons managed to claw through the rubber and expose 3 big holes. This allowed water to seep through after every rain storm. The ceiling below the roof eventually caved in and cost us numerous amount of time and hassle to repair. Sadly, Capital Construction never returned my phone call to re-patch the rubber, nor did they apologize for this. Although they were quick to get the sale and install the rubber, they've been unresponsive in our unfortunate plight. I would not recommend this material for any roof as it is definitely not critter safe. And it's VERY expensive.

None pushy sales pitch, with vary detailed breakdown of services and scope of work. The vary clear and open cost breakdown was one of the reasons we chose to go with Capital. Mike, and Cam were great!

Excellent time management. Work was completed within few hours. Cleaning procedures after job done was outstanding. The quality of materials used by this company is amazing, all top quality materials were used. The project manager Anthony A was very friendly and excellent on keeping in contact explaining all about the project to be done. I am very happy with this job well done and I will keep this company in mind for when I need future jobs done here in my house

I regret ever having contracted with this company. A "few weeks" project took over 2 months between delayed start (after materials and dumpster arrived) and workers who showed up at most 2-3 days each week (not weather related). Materials and equipment left all over the yard (such that I could not even mow my lawn), and they tried installing cheaper railings when I had paid a premium for an upgrade. Customer service was pitiful, despite numerous calls and texts, things just never seemed to get resolved in any timely manner. As a final insult, when finally finished, they were pressing me to sign off on a "job well done" w/in 24 hours with multiple texts/voicemails, e-mails and an in-person visit. We have undertaken several major home projects over the past few years, and are accustomed to occasional delays and frustrations, but this was beyond anything I could have imagined. In the end it all looks good, but I truly wish I had gone with another vendor.

The team at Capital has been truly wonderful to work with. Jim Sakkos helped educate me on my different options, and worked with me to find one that suited my budget and taste. The vinyl siding was done quickly, the team was polite and tidy, and my house looks amazing now. The team is responsive to any and all concerns. The warranty is amazing, as well.

We had the wonderful experience of having Capital Construction reside our home with Hardie Board in March. The old wood siding had not been kept up and we knew we would need to address it soon, however, we were intimidated by the scale and unknown of the project. The Capital Construction team was informative, not pushy and shared the same passion for our vision for our home. Our project manager, Jay, was personable, communicative with us, and was transparent about possible things that could emerge with the lack of upkeep, so we felt informed in making decisions throughout the process. Eddie and his crew were beyond friendly and impressed us daily with their work ethic. I left for work the morning they started and returned to have find them already having removed all of the old siding in one day. We were informed the project could take 2-3 weeks and they managed to complete it in 6 work days, which blew us away. Eddie also worked with us in developing a custom hay door as part of our vision. We continue to see people slow down and look at the home even months later and we often get compliments from our neighbors. The best feedback came from our next door neighbor who grew up in the home when he walked over and mentioned "I never imagined it could be so beautiful". The pictures speak for themselves. Thank you Capital Construction for helping make the home of our dreams.

On time, good communication excellent work

A tremendous language barrier between homeowner(English speaker) and the three(3) workers(Non-English speakers). Sporadic supervision by project manager during my project, then when homeowner expressed frustration with poor workmanship (damage to property, leaving nails all over the property) and outrage regarding misogynistic attitudes suffered by Capital Construction employees, the homeowner was dismissed and disrespected by project supervisors as well as office personal. My concerns were never addressed nor did I receive an apology.

We probably paid more for this "all in one day" type of construction contract than if we had hired an independant contractor, but it was well worth it. Quality product, professionally installed. Very good customer service.

Was impressed by the end product, Capital Construction delivered on what they said they would do. While the project was more expensive than other quotes we received, we were comfortable in spending this much due to the professionalism and level of detail to each step in the process.

I particularly liked the way the project was handled from presentation to closeout. Dan did a great job with presentation and gaining our trust. Jay A. did a great job managing the project and ensuring our needs were met. The office team was great at keeping us informed on the progress. Great team! Great job!

Luis and his crew worked on a Sunday. They started around 8 am and worked until 8 pm. It was very, very cold and very windy, with a bit of rain and snow flurries. They did an amazing job and when they finished they cleaned up all the debri. Each person we dealt with was professional and explained each step from the beginning to the end. Jay came by and called several times to check on the process. Would highly recommend them.

Everyone from the Sales rep, project manager, site manager and installers were very professional. The installers showed up on time and worked late each day. They cleaned up each night and at the end of the project. The project manager kept in contact with us everyday and showed up to go over daily progress. Very happy with the outcome of my siding and roofing project. Would definitely use Capital Construction in the future if needed.

I can walk down the steps from my slider. but thats about it. It took 4 months for 2 guys to build 3 stairs (poorly) and then another month for them to correct it. They were quick to come out for an estimate and get a contract signed. After that, total disaster. I wanted steps built out of my new patio door. Everyone else I asked said it was a one person, one day type of job and it was not complicated (as explained by the guy that did the estimate). I never got a start date, i kept asking about it and all they said was they're waiting on the permits. I finally got a call 2 months later from a new project manager (new to the company) saying he was clearing up a clerical error at the ISD. Capital had filed the paperwork incorrectly, and never followed up on it. They said they'd start that week, on a Friday. They didn't show. Didn't show on Saturday. The materials were delivered to my house and left on the sidewalk 4 days before anyone actually came to work. I had to help the project manager move all that stuff into the yard. The subcontractors came on the Monday around 3pm. It gets dark around 4. they left a huge mess in my yard and only got the stringers attached. The didn't return the next day. It took over 4 days for 2 guys to get the steps built. They would also turn up unannounced or when not scheduled which is not ok. When I went out to look, measurements were off by INCHES, kick plates were not flush, posts were placed an uneven distance from the house, pieces of wood chunked under the riser where cement was supposed to be. They had actually installed the wrong materials, NOT what I had ordered. No one bothered to check the contract, notice that they'd delivered the wrong materials and just installed it anyways. Garbage was left all over my yard, they left 3 unused bags of cement on my patio. Only the new project manager could see the problems and made any effort at all to fix things. So many promises to come out and fix it but "something always comes up." The person assigned to resolve my problems actually refused to answer my questions and phone calls. Not professional or mature at all. Subcontractors are not being held accountable for their substandard work and the company makes no effort towards discounts. THey offered $350 discount for this joke of a job costing $9400. My mistake for not doing my full research and actually assuming this company is of quality. 4 star reviews are lies, take a good look. at the 1 stars. Do not hire this company.

Very Informative throughout project

the workers were accurate with the instalation ...using a level, made sure all the siding peices were straight.

Very professional start to finish

Customer service is practically nonexistent. For a company that prides themselves on offering great customer service to clients, I felt they were severely lacking. The actual quality of the work looks good to me (as Im not an expert on roofing obviously), but the entire process was a headache. If you bring up any concerns, you are met with condescending remarks and screenshots of fine print in the contract that absolves them of any personal accountability for anything. The company talks highly of themselves and how they do not upcharge/upsell products but they absolutely do and get different answers from different people in different department - I.e. one tells you;It was supposed to be x dollars but I gave you a discount on this additional work; while another will explain an invoice showing no discount at all and try to justify overcharging on a project thats already costing you $21k. Will not use this company again.

They showed up on schedule and worked three days in a row to complete the job. I also received gutters. They left the property clean. Thank you, for a job well done.
