They called ahead of time to confirm appointment and arrived early. When I arrived they had already done a visual inspection on the exterior. The two gentleman were polite, explained things when asked about items, and were able to provide a qualitative assessment of the chimney. They also explained the scope of work that it needed and an approximate cost. Easy to work with and talk to, would recommend to others.

We were informed that our flues were not safe and that we should not use our fireplaces. We were provided with pictures. The commentary that accompanied them said that cracked tiles and other issues were problems that indicated the need for service. All 3 flues required stainless steel liners and we needed a stainless steel cap at the top of the chimney. The cost for all the work would be $33,000 if all the work were done at the same time and $39,000 if done separately. I called the Building Inspector in our city and described the problem and his response was "I'm pretty sure you don't need any liners in your flues". He gave me the name of another service provider in the area who happened to be in the neighborhood & came right away. It took him about five minutes of looking up one flue and looking at the pictures that had been provided by Billy Sweet Chimney Sweep before he said there is nothing wrong with any of our flues, that they only showed normal wear & tear and that there was no reason for concern or service.

It is all good because my wife gets to use the fireplace in the winter. They were communicative about how things were developing and if they were going to be on time or if they weren't. They kept me in the loop if their schedule changed. If there were changes in the materials, they were very communicative, which I was very appreciative of. I didn't do a whole lot of shopping in the market about that kind of work. We haven't had a fire in the fireplace yet.

I had purchased a wood stove and needed to have a stainless steel flue liner installed.  Due to the design of my chimney, the stove company could not complete the installation.  Billy Sweet had been recommended to me so I gave them a call.
They did a thorough inspection and gave me an estimate for the work.  The installation would require breaking into the chimney in two locations so that the liner could be moved through bends in the flue.  They arrived on time and ready for work.  The job was completed on time and the work was excellent.  Both indoors and out, the work was neat and clean (not an easy task with chimneys).
I would no hesitate to call Billy Sweet again.

Excellent customer service.  They were communicative, prompt, and forthright all the way through the process.  We knew we needed extensive work, but were advised to start with a cleaning and inspection.  This review is for the initial part of what will be a longer process with this company.  I was impressed with their knowledge and their willingness to explore and advise on different strategies for dealing with a deteriorating chimney.  They explained which bits of the chimney were in fine shape and where it was bad.  They showed us what was to code and what was not.  They would only recommend doing a proper job of it.  I think that makes their prices higher, but I prefer peace of mind knowing the work is being done right, well, and safely.  I saw that in these folks.  We will  certainly use this company again, and recommend highly to others.

The door and sweeping cost $700 - I did not compare with other companies so I do not know if this was a good price.
Regardless of the price, the service was excellent - polite, fast, and clean.  There was also a followup call to make sure that all was good.  This is a very good way to treat a customer and I would certainly recommend them to others.  They will be my first call for further chimney work.

We have used them a couple of times and they are wonderful. He is not cheap, but he is very good. He is very professional, thorough, clean and knowledgable. The price could be high but I think you get what you pay for because they are all licensed and very good.

I went to the home show and walking around saw Billy's display , and i spoke to the representative and he was very polite and helpful. He explanned the process that would take place and answered all my questions. So we booked an appointment. I received 2 calls prior to appointment to make sure it was ok. On the day of the cleaning then representative showed on time and so polite. He cleaned the chimney  in about 1 hour and then we talked. He explanned i would need to have it relined in the future , but ok for now. Thank YOu. did not try to forced it on me by scaring me. We talked anout how it was great i cleaned it because never done .
I will definetly have them reline my chimney and any future cleanings. The next night i got a call from the owner to follow up

They were very professional and were on time. They were very clean. They put down a protective cloth so that the place was kept clean. They were very nice. Their price was good because we got a discount. I would rate them high overall. I would use them again in the future.

Was given an arrival window between 9am and 12pm. The inspector showed up a little after 9am and was there for almost 3 hours, cleaning and inspecting the two chimney flues. The footage from the camera was great and I was able to watch the progression of the camera up the flues, with the inspector noting the gaps in the mortar and ultimately a very large hole! The flues were cleaned and drop cloths were placed around the area as well as furniture moved to ensure protection from any particles that might come down. A detailed summary of the findings along with estimates to fix the chimneys were provided. Overall, while $250 per flue is expensive, it gave us piece of mind to know what was really happening with our chimney flues. I am not sure if we will use them for the repair because their pricing was higher than other estimates we have received. However, our inspector was very knowledgeable and even adjusted our dampers for free.

The fellow who showed up, John, was very professional and knowledgeable. He inspected the chimney, took a few pictures and began doing the work. He forewarned me that if he did have to break into the chimney to remove obstructions, it would be an automatic $250 on top of the $250 sweeping. As it would turn out, he did have to break through to remove some ceramic liner that had broken off. As I couldn't just tell him to leave I paid it. Fortunately, it was the only blockage but it was a bit disappointing that I paid so much for him to put 4 bricks in (he broke through a vent cover with a smack of the hammer so it wasn't a terribly difficult or protracted process.) He finsihed up and then wrote up an estimate for further work.

I was very pleased with their work and would hire them again. They were very fair and gave me good answers to any questions I might have had.

It only took a week to get an appointment which was wonderful, however, the cost is outrageous when compared with what other companies are charging for a simple sweep ($65-100). We paid twice that. The window for arrival is about four hours, but they do call when they are on their way. Other than a high cost, I felt they were trying to "guilt" us into other repairs for some flue work (estimated at $4500) to totally replacing our chimney, (another $5000) implying that our house was a disaster waiting to happen the first time we had a fire in the fall. I don't like being intimidated by service people. I will certainly get other estimates before I have that work done.

They were very thorough and timely. They fit us into a tight schedule on our part. The chimney was just gorgeous when done.

I think that this company is the top notch in quality, but a little bit more expensive.

BILLY STRONGLY LED US TO BELIEVE HE WOULD DO THE WORK, BUT WE NEVER SAW HIM AFTER THE ESTIMATE. THE HELPER HE SENT WAS INEXPERIENCED AND PERSONALLY SLOPPY. HE BURNED OUR LAWN WITH THE CHIMNEY CAPS. THE HELPER AND BILLY MADE UNSAVORY AND MISLEADING UPSELL ATTEMPTS FOR SERVICES THAT WERE NOT REQUIRED. WE DO NOT KNOW WHETHER THE INSTALLATION WAS DONE PROPERLY OR NOT AT THIS POINT. A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE.

THE WORK WAS NOT DONE SAFELY OR CORRECTLY. THEY MIS-INSTALLED THE LINER AND BLOCKED THE CHIMNEY. WHEN WE LIT A FIRE AFTER THEIR REPAIR, THE SMOKE POURED INTO THE HOUSE FROM BEHIND THE WALL. WE WERE VERY LUCKY THEIR WORK DID NOT RESULT IN A HOUSE FIRE! BILLY SWEET NEVER RESPONDED TO MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS OR LETTERS AFTERWARD, ASKING THEM TO COME BACK AND FIX THE CHIMNEY OR GIVE US A REFUND. WE HAD TO PAY ANOTHER COMPANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO COME OUT AND REDO THEIR WORK. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE AND MOST DANGEROUS WORK OF ANY CONTRACTOR WE HAVE EVER HIRED.

THE SWEEP SHOULD NOT HAVE LEFT MY HOUSE FILTHY. THEY WERE APOLOGETIC AND DID CLEAN UP, BUT I WAS OVERWHELMED WHEN I SAW THE MESS.
