Bay State Remodeling

This was our 4th project with Bay State. They demo'd our old linear closet, refinished and painted our bedroom and installed built in wardrobe cabinets. As usual, they did an amazing job with everything. Even though it was a relatively small project, they gave it their full attention and focus, making sure everything was perfect. And the communication was great all along the way. I'm particularly grateful for Marcio, who has a great eye for design details, and went above and beyond to make sure everything came out perfectly. Even when we had the unexpected challenge of the cabinets not fitting through our hallway, he figured out how to have his team physically lift them (!) through our 2nd floor window. I'm still not sure how they actually did that! If that isn't going above and beyond I'm not sure what is! Also shout out to Marcus (electrician) who did a great job and gave great recommendations, as well as Andreina who was on top of communication and organization as usual. Also the painting team and floor refinishing team (Francis) were great as well. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

Bay State did an AMAZING job with our house. We originally hired them to redo 2 bathrooms - then, after a different company backed out of our HVAC installation right before the winter, Bay State came to the rescue and did a wonderful job with the remodeling required for that, too. We decided to expand the scope of our home remodel (to include a kitchen remodel, opening up the floorplan, etc.) because we were so impressed with the quality of their work, and we are very happy with the results. It was a pleasure working with Marcio, Andreina, David, Marcus, Mr. Fixit, Dayna, and everyone else involved in the project. We are so glad we went with Bay State - they are professional, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and committed to quality. Also, they know how to make things look really good!

We recently used Bay State Remodeling for the second time to help us remodel our 2nd floor bathroom in Brighton, MA. We knew we were in good hands with Marcio, Dayna, Jaime and Andreina to update our bathroom and get the project finished on time. When working with Bay State, they do a great job of taking care of all of the logistics so the project runs as smoothly as possible. Anytime we had a question or concern it was addressed right away by the team. We are very happy with our bathroom and would recommend Bay State to anyone looking for a reliable, full-service remodeling company!

David, Marcio, Andreina, Dayna, and the rest of the Bay State team did a fantastic job getting our home in Newton ready in time for our family to move into. We were working with a tight deadline, and our friends and neighbors were amazed by how much they did so quickly and well. They also did a great job following up with any adjustments we needed post-move. We are so happy with Bay State and plan to use them again on future projects! I've also included some pictures of the original kitchen and dining area to help get a sense for how much they changed.

This was our third project with Bay State (complete kitchen remodel). It would be hard to overstate how great they are to work with. So professional, knowledgable, organized, and caring with details. The project was 100% on time (2 months), and at the budget we expected. I appreciated how invested they were with the outcome being perfect, and not just the bare minimum to get the job done. Would 100% recommend them or work with them again. A few people in particular: Andreina was always on top of the schedule and details and great communication; Marcio, great eye and good advice on the finishing design touches; Jose, very efficient with the initial stages of demo etc and made sure everything else in our house was carefully moved and covered; Ray and David, great advice at the beginning; Dayna and Sabrina, very helpful with design/sourcing. And all the subs were also fantastic, great at what they did and professional/communicative. Thank you!

William and Roberto from Baystate completed a complete refinishing of our bathtub and tile walls. We had a 50s style pink bathroom and given that tub and tile were in good shape we decided to go with Baystate. They were very professional and neat. The finished product came out great. My wife and I are very happy with the results!!

Initial calls for gut kitchen and adjacent bathroom renovation + removal of load bearing wall went well with Sabrina and Ray - they assured us they have done many similar projects in the area successfully and on time. From the many positive and detailed yelp/google/houzz/angi reviews that had great end result pictures, we were convinced to move forward. Sabrina turned around the estimate for labor and some materials allowance quickly along with separate helpful tiered pricing guidance PDFs for kitchen and bathroom finishes to be purchased separately. Tile guidance was a bit off and a few categories like vanity, counter, mirror, light fixture in bathroom and plumbing for kitchen were missing. Vendors showed us finishes across all price tiers so it took us an extra week to finalize selections. Unfortunately we were told this delayed the project by a month. We were asked to wait on the kitchen design until after the engineering work for removal of the load bearing wall and addition of shear walls. Since we had a choice on the location of the shear walls, we preferred to do the design in tandem. I used cabinets.com to create my own rendering of the kitchen layout we wanted and provided them the full dimensions. The day before the approved structural wall work was to begin they sent their own drawing which had the wrong wall locations. After talking to both David and Dayna we realized her and the designer were not brought up to speed on the engineering work. Dayna then setup a productive Zoom call with the designer directly and we got my drawing to be updated with a few suggestions and required spacing and panels. The biggest mistake in the project came from one of their subcontractors employees who removed the plastic cover over our basement sink and cleaned off tools and plaster in it clogging the drain. Bay State quickly sent the drywall guy back over to unclog it. The project took just under 4 months to complete. Bay State and their subcontractors apart from the sink issue did not cut corners, often went above and beyond, and completed top quality finishes. No up-charge on materials was another big positive. The actual work done by the plumber (Mr Fix-It), electrician (Marcus Quintino), tile guys, drywall guy, cabinets guys, floor guys, and painters (AJA Painting) was excellent and we are very happy with our new space. Marcio was the MVP of their team - always calm, listened attentively to our many questions, provided great suggestions, and constantly asked the subcontractors to clean up. If they forgot, he cleaned up himself. His wife also worked tirelessly all day cleaning up at the end of the project. Things constantly move around and change during construction and it was difficult to get a clear picture of the plan each day. Andreina and at the start Dayna heard from us every week and always answered the phone and tried their best to chase down answers from others and get us the latest information. The billing process is very straightforward and Andreina provided further detail on line items as needed. Jose was always positive and happy to pass along feedback from us to the office when he swung by. Sabrina provided helpful guidance at the start in choosing our cabinets, counters, and hardware. David continually helped move the project along and has ensured everything is to our liking while encouraging us to pass along any punch list items. I would recommend Bay State for their quality of work, integrity, and communication. My main constructive feedback is on the design process and keeping everyone in sync throughout the project on the latest information.

We are thrilled with the work done by Bay State! They completed a major renovation that took our 1938 tumbledown house into a solid, smart home. The team has been a complete pleasure to work with: available, knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant. With Ofir’s outstanding oversight, Andreina was always in contact and so helpful, and with Sabrina ready to discuss every choice, Marcio expertly directed and advised construction, and other members of the team including Paulo, Jose and Robson were fantastic. All of the work done has been highly professional and wonderfully competent. I very enthusiastically recommend Bay State.

Bay State Remodeling did a great job not only on the initial kitchen remodel, but also on follow-up.

They were terrific, from start to finish. At our initial contact in August, Sabrina discussed scope and provided an estimate. Upon signing a contract, Maia put us in touch with various partner vendors to select fixtures, trim, tile, and stonewwork in October: they provided great guidance. When the work began in January, project manager David kept us apprised on the various steps (demo, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plastering, etc.) and was very responsive to questions that arose. Jose made sure that the necessary fixtures and materials were delivered when needed. Marcio, the carpenter, did beautiful work matching our existing Victorian trim. Andreina, the operations manager, juggled all the scheduling flawlessly, and our main contact once work started. The job was mostly done in 6 weeks. The glass shower door was delayed a couple of weeks due to a problem at the vendor's end.

I recently hired Bay State to complete a kitchen and two bathroom remodel, and I could not be happier with the results. From the initial consultation to the final walk-through, Bay State exceeded all of my expectations. Their team of professionals were knowledgeable, friendly, and always went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied with the work being done. This was our second bathroom remodel with Bay State. As expected, they did an amazing job. They are extremely responsive, subcontract to reliable and skilled workers, and are communicative about the process. They set up appointments for us at all the relevant vendors, and made sure we had everything before starting the project. Whenever anything went wrong they made sure it was remedied. Thanks in particular to Marcio who gave us tips and opinions along the way about particular finishing details. And to Andreina who kept us informed of the day to day schedule and any other details we needed to have. Would 100% hire them again.

Great job by the Bay State team on remodeling our bathroom! From Sabrina helping us with the initial design, Andreina and Carla running operations, and Marcio, Darly, Paulo, David and the crew doing a stellar job taking the old bathroom apart and putting it back together. My one regret has nothing to do with Bay State - it's not ordering all of our fixtures first and having them in hand before actually starting the project. Had we done that we would have avoided some painful delays caused by supply chain/shipping issues. Lesson learned!

Working with Bay State was a dream and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. I never would have thought that working with a contractor could be so easy! We did a complete remodeling of our bathroom and we couldn’t be happier. It is now a beautiful, usable space and even though we were working from home the entire time and it was a major project, they minimized the disruption as much as possible. From the start they made every piece of it as easy as they could for us and laid out exactly what they needed from us and what to expect. Our designer, Sabrina, also came up with an idea to change the layout to maximize space that I never would have thought of on my own. We worked with Marcio, David, and Paulo, and they were all amazing and kind. They took the time to explain what was happening at each stage and gave excellent recommendations. Their communication was truly exceptional—Andreina gave us weekly updates and the entire time we were very clear on what was happening when. Andreina and David were available via text the whole time and if anything popped up they dealt with it ASAP. Also, the cherry on top, they were done ahead of schedule. In the future for any major projects I will be going straight to Bay State!

I worked with Bay State for a complete bathroom remodeling and my experience with them was outstanding. The bathroom was fully functional within the time frame they estimated, which is a feat during a pandemic. Sabrina made sure all the materials and finishes were in place before the work started. Because it is the only bathroom, David worked with me to get a functional toilet installed as soon as possible and even responded to my texts on the weekend when something came up. Marcio and Paulo did awesome work and listened to my concerns and requests. Special mention to Andreina who was in constant contact with me to let me know what would happen when and relayed all my concerns to the subcontractors. This team clearly has customer satisfaction in mind. They will definitely be on the top of my list when I decide to pull the trigger on the kitchen!

We are happy with the finished product. Paulo, in particular, did excellent work on the bathroom and wood trim, always addressed our input, and made sure the project stayed on track. I think the company, overall, could improve some on communication regarding project details and scheduling, especially early on, but we appreciated Andreina and Marcio checking in and keeping us in the loop as much as they could. We also appreciated the quality of the subcontractors brought in for electric and plumbing work (Jonathan the electrician, and David's Mr. Fix It Plumbing).

Bay State Refinishing & Remodeling did such an amazing job with our complete bathroom remodel. From start to finish they were super organized, letting us know step by step what to expect and what we had to do on our end to keep the process moving. We picked out all our own fixtures/finishes, but they helped with that by scheduling showroom appointments and providing the sales people with spec sheets detailing what would fit/work in our space. When it came to the actual construction, they took care of every detail so we didn't have to think or worry about anything. The project took about 6 weeks start to finish (this was down to the studs remodel), and was 100% on schedule. The work itself was great, we especially appreciated Darlee who did the tile and installation. Marcio helped us plan the tile layout and gave some suggestions which I appreciated. They were all very professional and courteous (we did live in the space throughout the construction process). I would definitely work with them again and recommend them. You may pay a bit more than managing the process yourself, but well worth it in my opinion.

I did two full bathroom remodels with Bay State.  They were great to work with from the beginning - within a week of signing a contract, Andreina came over to measure the spaces, talk through design choices and set me up with appointments to choose fixtures and tile.   The crews that came out to do the work were all very professional.  The project manager, David, stayed in constant contact by text message, answered all my questions, and accommodated my last minute requests and made sure any issues were handled immediately.  The crew (David, Marcio, Darly, and Paulo) did a fantastic job in all the details - everything looks really good, and were fantastic about masks and keeping folks  safe from Covid throughout.  The plumbing and electrical crews they brought in were great as well. Bathroom 1 completed fully on-time, and bathroom 2 was delayed only by an underlying structural problem uncovered.  Bay State was fantastic about setting up a consultation with a structural engineer and offered a great price to do the work themselves to keep everything moving as quickly as possible. I'm extremely pleased with how the project turned out - both bathrooms look fantastic, and I got every item on my original checklist of what I wanted out of a remodel.  I appreciated their support and advice throughout the design and decision process, as well as a flawless implementation.  They weren't the cheapest, but the price was fair, and the work excellent.

Great job. The technician was Joshua Fernandez. He was on time and polite. He prepared the whole bathroom prior to work. Everything was protected from overspray. He methodically worked for four hours prepping, sanding and then painting. I would highly recommend Bay State Remodeling and especially Joshua.

Bay State Remodeling and Refinishing completely transformed our third floor from an unfinished attic to an incredible playroom/guestroom. When we bought our house eight years ago, we always knew that the third floor would be a project that would improve our house and provide more living space, but the finished product is even bigger and nicer than I had imagined. Now it’s the only place where our three little boys ever want to play! Not only did I find all the members of the Bay State team to be kind and professional, I really appreciated how willing they were to add extra touches along the way, and to provide honest feedback on what would be the most cost-effective version of what I wanted. Our “team” of Ray, David, and Marcio, made it clear throughout the process that they valued me as a customer and wanted the project to be exactly what I wanted. I definitely plan to use Bay State again for future projects!

Shower looks new - great job; and the service was fantastic.

Jose from Bay State Refinishing did an excellent job re-finishing an old cast iron bath tub in a home we recently purchased. The prior owners had performed a non-professional re-enameling with an at home kit, leaving areas where the finish had puddled and pooled and an overall uneven surface that was starting to flake. While the estimate was higher that quoted initially due to extra work for the non-professional prior work, overall the work was excellent. Jose worked hard and explained the process. He was very thorough with his work. Overall even though the price was higher than expected, the quality of work is evident.

Bay State Refinishing & Remodeling came recommend from a dear friend of mine and I could not be happier with the work they did. They renovate my master bathroom. The entire team (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc..) led by David (contractor) were amazing. Marcel is one of the nicest people I have ever met and can do almost anything that has to do with home renovations. They were always on-time, very professional and even helped me deal with a difficult neighbor. I have recommended them to friends who are planning home renovations in the near future. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.
