The cost was not expensive. They were excellent and there were no problems.
The workers were good and there is nothing they could improve on.

What a pleasure to work with. I have historically had problems with my air conditioning system. The original installer tried at least a dozen times to repair. I called Alewife Air because I needed a different contractor's perspective. They immediately found the problems, fixed it, and the system has been working great ever since. Many thanks!

They were great overall! Dave is in very high demand, so I had to wait a week before his team could get in and start the job. But, they were wonderful. I wanted a traditional heating and cooling system (not a high velocity system that they sometimes use in old houses to avoid having to put in the standard ducts). The job was a bit more tedious than they anticipated because of the construction of the house behind the closed walls, but once they opened the walls (in very few spots) and got going, the job went very smoothly. Dave was a masterful engineer with his ductwork plan and was able to get ducts/vents in rooms that all the other contractors who bid told me were "impossible" to get to. Dave and his crew were very respectful of my kids (2 year old and 3 month old) naps schedules and they were very conscientious and clean. When the electrician that was supposed to work on the electrical side of the job feel through, Dave came up with a replacement immediately. Dave stuck to his estimate price, which I very much appreciated. I would hire him in a second if I had to do the job again.

We moved to a home where Alewife had installed the central air. One of the units was not working properly. They first said the duct work was inadequate. $1000 worth of ducts later, it still did not work. Then they thought the freon was contaminated. $425 later, we had new freon BUT no cold air. Finally, they consulted with tech support and changed a filter. $300 later we actually had cold air, for about a month. The next time the unit didn't work they came and added freon, claiming there must be a freon leak and that I had to replace all of the piping but that the work they did should last the rest of the season. Three days later the AC froze up, stopped working, and leaked water all over my daughter's room. Worst of all, they NEVER showed when they said they would. Work is done on their time, not the customer's schedule. They often didn't return my calls and were always late. The final straw was today when we waited for two hours for an appointment that didn't show. We are done. If anyone recommends them to you, RUN FAST.
