I had the pleasure of spending my morning with Michael as he went around my dream home advising me how to make it better and safer. He pointed out so many small but important fixes and answered all of my questions thoroughly. He found new structural issues (a 175 year old house) the previous inspector had not found and defended his findings and me the client when the the angry homeowner stomped into the house insisting he was wrong. Michael was professional and lighthearted often times going along with my silly jokes and extremely knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him to anyone buying a home, especially an older home that may have its own unique issues. Thank you Michael!!

This was a pleasant and informative walk around and through the condo. It identified one outside problem that we had not noticed, an inside door that needed to be planed (you don't notice if you don't try to close it) and confirmed that much of the rest was in good shape (and not for lack of looking). Perhaps the most useful aspect was explaining aspects of the condo's construction and operation that would otherwise have been mysterious, such as the Fan in a Can near the water heater and furnace.

This was the second time we used Michael, and initially we were pleased. He appeared to be thorough, just as he had during the first inspection. We pulled out of the first deal because it was a short sale without an end in sight, and found our current home.
There were minor things in his report, window latches, broken bulbs, nothing I'd consider a deal breaker. We knew termites had been found in the home, but he pointed out the sill in the basement had been replaced, there was no current activity, and there was a termite mitigation system in place.
Something that was a red flag to me was that there was sheetrock up in the basement that was otherwise unfinished. I asked my agent and the inspector about this, both appeared clueless as to why there was sheetrock. Never did they mention it could be hiding termite damage. I told them I wanted to remove the pieces of sheetrock, and my concerns were brushed off.
Also, Micheal said he could not access the attic. We have a cap, the attic is accessible through the closet ceiling. You need only remove 2 screws to get in, and the opening was at least 2 ft by 2 ft, plenty of room to pop your head in.
Two short months later, Christmas weekend to be exact, we see our "new" back roof is leaking in the downstairs bedroom. We go up into the attic only to discover massive amounts of mold, water leaking in, and overall a devastating disaster. Long story short, we needed a whole new roof, and would have at LEAST had more negotiating power had we known about the attic, and possibly wouldn't have purchased the home.
6 months after that I am doing pilates and my foot goes through the hardwood. We remove the sheetrock in the basement to discover what I had suspected all along, termite damage to the subfloor. We NEVER would have bought the house had we known this.
I contacted Michael, who completely denied any wrong doing or oversight, even changing his story mid discussion regarding whether or not he accessed the attic. He just needed a ladder, which any inspector should have had.
He referred me to the owner, who I contacted. We played phone tag ONCE and I never heard from him. Run screaming from these people.
As a practice, NEVER use a home inspector your agent recommends. First time home buyer beware!

Michael met us at a property we hope to purchase to perform a home inspection. He was early, which was wonderful, and he had also called me several days before to confirm the appointment. He was friendly and funny, and laughed at my dumb jokes.
He took us around the outside of the property and not only told us of any issues, but options how to fix them, where to go for parts, etc. Most were minor issues he said we could take care of. He then took us through the basement, the longest portion of the inspection, the main level, and the upstairs master.
He took the time to thoroughly explain everything he was looking at, why he looked at it, etc. We left feeling pretty good about the property, aware of the issues it had, armed with questions for the seller, and impressed with Michael's vast knowledge. It was a really great experience, for what I am told is a good price. We left with the report on a cd. The whole thing took about 2.5 hours, but we were also chatting with the realtor so it probably shouldn't have taken that long.

Vince did a thorough job, and was professional on the pre-sale inspection of our new home. I never got the impression that he was rushed, and he took plenty of time to respond to questions and provide answers. He pointed out potential issues with the new home and offered solutions on how to resolve them. In addition to problem issues, he provided some advice regarding cosmetic and preventative maintenance fixes that we could elect to do in the future. I made a phone call inquiry a few days later for clarification and advice, and Vince similarly handled that efficiently. I would definitely recommend and use again.

Vince was an essential partner in the purchase of our first home, and we've been working to implement his findings and suggestions. He arrived early and went through the entire house, attic, and basement with us in detail. He was very patient with all my questions as a first-time home buyer, and was a wealth of knowledge.

Vince impressed me with his attention to detail, ideal for a potential homeowner. He spent a great deal of time not only inspecting the structures, but also explaining in detail every item he found, as well as items that were fine but good for me to know. He was very willing to answer any questions I posed and explained everything in a way I could understand. I emerged feeling very confident about the home as well as its operation. The office was prompt and courteous when returning calls, pricing was very fair, and it was not difficult to schedule the appointment despite short notice for availability. The report was produced on CD prior to his departure. I'm sure I'll be referring to it for years to come. Very ideal experience for a home inspection.
